Early on in my LEO career, the agency I started with didn't get hire on unless you're 25 YO+, recruitment after passing Bat/ACA/PA Test/preliminary background w/psychological evaluation/selection, but attending academy was waiverable at 24 years plus 3 months, with nine months academy (2 months FTX/OJT). If your FTX evaluation gets a pass with no remarks or remedial, you moved on to graduation, and post assignment with one year probation. That was back in the late 1970's, but I already had 6+ years military under my belt, so age requirement didn't matter for me. The agency policy took male maturity of 25 very serious, and didn't certify anyone under 25 YOA, same with the tri-state laws peace officer certification & licensing. Seems some agencies dropped their standards, and its costing them both financially and man power. Mil/Leo Analyst Ret.

You kick your door in, call your landlord but don’t call the police and file an attempted break in! If he can’t tell the truth about that, what else is he capable of lying about??
He probably could have had the landlord or maintenance guy unlock his door for free. Getting locked out happens all the time and is no big deal. Worst case, he'd have to pay for a locksmith to come but that's still cheaper than replacing the door.
I'm laughing so hard because this has happened to myself and my wife more than once, you absolutely can have them come down and unlock your door for you, I did it in college at a dorm once as well and had to wait on a maintenance guy with a master key. This is the dumbest decision 😂😂😂@@weirddan455
He wasn't ready to be a cop if he couldn't even be bothered to shave for work. I'm 110% sure he kicked in the door because he was pissed off. He obviously had his keys with him because he came back from driving his car. So I'm glad that an immature with anger issues isn't a cop.
I think he had a hard time to work up to that cop stash and was proud So when the boss sent him home was basically saying your cop mustache suck so hard get rid of it Staging a burgelery might confuse everyone to where they forget he has to shave. He loves his facial hair
So dude accidently locks his keys inside, and instead of trying to find an extra key or call a locksmith, or anything else, he decides to kick the door in and then try to use his power as an officer to frame a break in to get off paying for the door. Real smooth brain stuff.
The interesting thing is there is actually a limit to how high your IQ can be to become a police officer. If you test over the limit you won't be hired.
Probably to avoid paying for the damages. He kicked the door probably out of frustration. Moron then uses Apple Pay for candy but says his card doesn’t work. Moron of the year award.
I think because he's not ready to do the job, and probably been stressed out a lot of being a cop, and probably didn't have money and also wanted to not get in trouble and already been told to go home and shave 🪒 I think there's just too much going on in his life to focus on being a cop

Lmao hit the nail on the head with that comment!
This shows how low the standards are in some places to become a LEO.
The veteran officer looks like the circus strong-man talking to a 12 year old boy in the audience.😅

@@BillyKidd - Probably both.

he snitched on himself apparently
Right? I don't think its illegal to bust down your own door, lol. This is so crazy. But good in thing it happened early in his career, def don't want this guy having any authority lmao
Well, they would have known because he didn't have his body cam. He already was mildly in trouble for not shaving. If he showed up without his body cam, he probably would have been disciplined... so he kicked in the door to retrieve the body cam and then made up the burglary story as if he had just came home to shave and saw the door busted open.
um, the door would have been broken

Way too young and immature to be a police officer.
You can be a cop at 21 but u can’t rent a car tho. 21 is too young to be a cop imo.
Can enlist in the military at 17.
I know! Who hired him??
I’m not sure if the older detective said this but at 21 I was a monster compared to this young officer 😢
This is so bizarre why would he lie about a break-in and then report himself?
Department dodged a near certain lawsuit caused by this guy in the future

EVERYTHING!
FACTS
He probably could have had the landlord or maintenance guy unlock his door for free. Getting locked out happens all the time and is no big deal. Worst case, he'd have to pay for a locksmith to come but that's still cheaper than replacing the door.
Any & everything...
I'm laughing so hard because this has happened to myself and my wife more than once, you absolutely can have them come down and unlock your door for you, I did it in college at a dorm once as well and had to wait on a maintenance guy with a master key. This is the dumbest decision 😂😂😂@@weirddan455
I love the integrity of this lieutenant ❤
He wasn't ready to be a cop if he couldn't even be bothered to shave for work.
I'm 110% sure he kicked in the door because he was pissed off. He obviously had his keys with him because he came back from driving his car.
So I'm glad that an immature with anger issues isn't a cop.
What's with the anti-beard nonsense? Why do you idiots associate growing a beard with lacking maturity?
I think he had a hard time to work up to that cop stash and was proud

@jason200912 Insurance. They won't cover you for kicking in your own door, but if there is a police report for a break in...
