A 6 minute video to build a whole sauna. Didn't show his kids or his pets. Didn't pretend there was some big issue for dramatic effect. I wish all of youtube was like this. Some guys would drag this build out for 5 videos. Awesome video and awesome sauna.
each to their own, I agree on the second part where some go hollywood style with their videos but for the pets and kids part if you follow some youtubers for a while the pets and kids they engage becomes a part of the channel and for some views may watch new videos just to check on them ... that's how youtube works and that's how it effected many, for you if youtube is like pinterest you just login in get what you need and go it's your choice but for maaaany youtube takes the share of netflix, tv channels etc all combined
hello, this video is so great that my initial thoughts of constructing one at home have been demystified. Really nice that found this and you seem to be pretty good with the construction end of things. Bravo
My Finnish Grandfather from the homeland could heat up rocks and make a tent and have a sauna! It is dty heat and yes to increase temp you spash a little water. It is not a steam room!! That is what I know on the subject!! As a young boy I would be on the floor and he would be in the rafters laughing at me!! It was hot!! Amazing for the skin and then into a cold shower or in the snow!! Some Finns bust a hole in ice and finish there. They are Tough, tough, souls! I love them!!
Hi, Good looking sauna 👍 Stove could be little bigger with larger amount of stones. Now water is boiling on the bottom. You need thermometer to your sauna. In Finland sauna temperture can be 70-90°c but i think you could start at 50-60°c 😏😆
Love that you even built your own stove! Build looks great. Was surprised to see that you used 2x2 framing, but I guess the thick looking boards that you used for the exterior make up for that.
Great ideas - In my experience, your size of stove relative to size of building looks like it probably wouldn't get hot enough.... And not enough insulation would make this even moreso! What did you find temps get up to?
Wow, is it so warm in Germany, so you can build such thin walls and still be able to sweat ? )) in my sauna in Russia walls are 40 cm with special insulation )) it’s -42 now here. Great job, thanks )
Great instructional. I wondered is there any risk of CO2 / CO build up given the fire does not appear to be sealed? I’ve heard of this risk but unsure what the considerations are.
Was the paper layer breathable or sealed plastic ? Considering a build like this but not sure whether to use insulation and breathable paper membrane . Nice video 👌
Ciao. Complimenti, Ottimo lavoro!
I have an existing 1-person FIR sauna (radiant health e1h), and would like to remove the glass door (65"H x 24"W) and position a Red-Led panel in it's place (36"Hx12"W). Mounting the panel on a movable tv stand is not a problem, but once I wheel it into position, I don't want any gaps between the panel and the door-jamb. I understand the existing "Serious-Window" glass door is triple-plane (R6?), but I was thinking I could mount some insulating material (spaceloft-aerogel , XPS, HempWool, etc) around the panel? Since it's such a small area , the cost of the insulating material is not a concern, nor it being fire-retardant. The only concern would be breathing right next to it. Any suggestions on mounting or what I can do around the panel to insulate it?
Can anyone point me to a book about saunas so I can understand what makes this one work? I would love to have a sauna at home and this looks pretty simple.

You can avoid most of the tools by buying a sauna stove. He just went above & beyond by making his own. The rest of the tools can be bought for around $1k & will let you build the general sauna. 70% of his materials were up cycled, so for him it truly is budget.
Well we already know it's not a Low budget sauna. Im only 1:06 in and already know it's not a low cost. Those tools you're using isn't low budget. Off to the next video.
Yes, tools acquired over a lifetime of someone who works with … tools. Like empty beer cans by someone who empties beer cans or someone else watching it on their 7th new 1k device… it’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it?
Well that's nice it cost you about 500 buck but, wood alone would cost about 200 euro, the materials about another 200, varnish and stuff like that about another 200. Given you use tools for about 50 000 euro and have loads of wood lying around, yes that costs 500. But this is definitely no low budget sauna.
I see someone already beat me to it. I just stopped watching at 1:32 mark. Why? You’re creating some part, that while you’re saving a ton of money vs buying it, you’re building it with tools that are 10 times the price of just buying a $500 stove. Let me guess you later cop down a tree and create your own wood 2x4’s with a $10k saw mill.

true that

I miss builds like this. Thanks for making the sauna.
The inside of a sauna that cannot be imagined from the outside.
Applause for a building that can play an active role! ♬
Great job no bullshit just pure and simple building a sauna that’s not going to break the bank and it works. Nice 😊

Kleine, brutale Sauna. Mit Blümchen :)
Wie immer, super geil!
Dankeschön!
very cool build. I love the look of the German garden areas and also the look of the roof tops there.
Absolutely in love with this one! Amazing build, recycled materials and incredibly cozy! Awesome job!!
I salute you from Finland 🇫🇮

Thanks for this story! Reminds me our hiking sauna made of tent and pile of hot stones when i've been to mountains

We‘re reaching about 70-75C with this stove, which is enough for us at the moment…
You can get better steam If you put more stones.
Was für ein tolles Video und Projekt. Super schöne Aufnahmen. 😎Klasse gemacht. Viel Spaß damit.......liebe Grüße🎈
Great video, what a ton of work! Looks great. Awesome use of upcycled material. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Thanks man!
Another video from one of my favorite builders! Looking good Habu
Have missed seeing your vids. =) hope you have had a good holiday.
wow , is amazing!!!!! really you made look simple but is really blessing gift, thank you

Really fantastic work, Hassan! It turned out amazing! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
And happy new year!
This is incredible, thank you for sharing.

I was just looking at saunas. Thank you!

Very nice looking sauna.
really a nice inexpensive option. But what I didn't fully understand... how does the fresh air for your oven work?
Nice build! Making an outside air supply for the fire would probably add more power to the stove.
How would you Do that
@@benianthony6396small hole in the wall right next to the stove
@@tomwolfe1983 wouldnt that leave cold air into the sauna
@@benianthony6396 yes, that's the purpose. Hot air exits the chimney. Cold air enters the stove. The closer the intake is to the stove the better.
@@tomwolfe1983 wow thanks
Nice work. Beautifully done

Thank you, youve convinced me not to do it myself, you are amazing by the way

Great build Habu! Fresh air intake and insulation (polyurethane) would be good to have.
Done…😉👌🏽
Fresh air intake direct to the stove is a must.

🇩🇪Moin,
Super Sauna👍
Bitte denke an die Frischluftversorgung !
( zumindest für die Feuerstelle )😉
Na logo! 👌🏽
With $50,000 worth of tools, you too can make a cheap sauna.
Home Depot rents, and some.major cities have tool libraries. When you're broke you just have to be more creative 😊

My thoughts are that you kick fuckin butt, with your ideas, man!!! What a fantastic upcycling project. Absolutely brilliant! Go on!
Thanks bro!

Hello Habu good job well done
Very nice.
Cool build, what kind of wood did you use? Thanks.
How does the stove deal with the ash? Should have some kind of grate to provide space for an ash basin.
Like usual protection!
It was a great build but the end of the video a ember came flying out lol about to be a real hotbox haha

Danke schon vorab :)
How hot does it get in there? Great job!
Can u use floorboard wood as cladding
Nice job! What are the timber frame dimensions?
Nice!
Thanks. On it.

Great build , can you tell me does the stove door seal with fire rope or is it not necessary to seal the door when closing??
I suspect that if you sealed the fire door the fire would suffocate.
Before I "steal" your idea, what would you differently if you had to do it agian?
GEIL

Do you have problems with this stove creating smoke inside the sauna??

Cheap is a relative term, with all the wood...
Where is the pool with ice cold water? 😉

Autarkic applies to economies of states or countries rather than individuals. Self-sufficient would be a better term.
