I've lived all over Florida. West side Naples/Ft. Myers/Bonita area was nice, laid back, and beautiful. Not much to do for the younger crowd. Miami is busy, although Cococut Grove is nice. Mid Florida Gainesville is good for raising a family, good friendly people. East Coast is also pretty nice, more fast-paced than the west coast, St. Augustine is beautiful, once you start getting past palm coast it kind of turns into a miami feel. Overall, Florida is great and I don't think I'd live anywhere else.
Really enjoy the info you broadcast, great job. We left Chattanooga TN 4 years ago by boat looking for a place to call home. After rounding the keys and having spent time looking along the gulf coast, we found Hammock beach marina and loved it. Bought a condo there and two years later sold our house in GA and bought one in Wild Oaks. I guess this hidden gem Calm Ghost works for us:} Thanks for your videos.
The Gulf beaches are far superior to the Atlantic with sugar white sand, tropical seashells, and beautiful sunsets. Atlantic beaches usually have a heavy surf, strong current, sharks, and jellyfish. The Gulf coast does have more transplants from the midwest who are friendlier and more relaxed than the New Yorkers on the East Coast. I think you will also find lower crime rates in Gulf coast communities with an older population of retirees. The east coast is slightly cooler, especially in the summer, with much lower humidity levels, more refreshing sea breezes, and excellent air quality.
You summarized what I was going to say in a great succinct manner! Very true the beaches on the west side are MUCH more beautiful.- also the midwestern migration is much friendlier then the NY/Boston/DC/Philly gruff transplants on the atlantic coast.
thanks Bill for your channel, I live in Palm Coast now, but I wish I would have found you prior to making the move in 2021. We own a house in the B section as well as a house on the canal in the F section. I like the fact that no one (yet) knows about PC. I like how local PC and Flagler Beach is. True we have our bikers and such, but it is very local still.
