    I did my first Ironman distance swim in an Oneil 6mm windsurfing wetsuit. It took almost 5min to get it off and was probably illegal but I don't think I got any unfair advantage off it... 😁

    I’m in my first full season doing triathlon and I am enjoying my setup- Roka comp II sleeveless. I also bought some arm sleeves, booties, and a neoprene swim cap off of amazon. All of this makes me able to pick out what is right based on water temperature and to have a freed up shoulder for mobility.
    Thanks for the content GTN! Love the channel!

    For the last piece of Triathlon gear was the wet suit. Many sleepless nights regarding fit. Finally bit the bullet and got a Billibong. Now I had to order on line and from the States so returns are going to be a pain if I got to send back. they said it should take about 10 to 15 minutes to put on and they were not wrong. It was snug but I was able to move quite nice. Why is it so hard to buy gear for this sport? I thought it was going to be an easy sport for an old guy like me. Thanks for the video, just a bit late.

    Great video! :) I had to opt for an eBay wetsuit (Quintana Roo that I hope fits) due to the gargantuan costs of purchasing all equipment for an ironman. Fingers crossed it has buoyancy in the hips/legs! Maybe I can buy a new one next year that is more exact to my needs.

    Without including a 2 piece wetsuit, you left out a crucial fitting option for lots of people.

    Hahaha! I literally bought my first triathlon wetsuit last week! Previously, I was using a surfing wetsuit that was too big for me. Made for easy on/off, but gosh did it fill up with water! I would like to remind everyone to check your local triathlon rules in regard to what kind of wetsuit is legal for the conditions you’re racing in. I’m curious whether the added buoyancy in the legs is legal. I was under the impression that you can’t have any extra floatation.

    Which wetsuit I recommend for swimming in cold water in unheated, open-air, and non-winterized swimming pools in Canada, specially in fall, winter, and spring seasons. Can be a surfing wetsuit, diving wetsuit or swimming/triathlon wetsuit to meet my needs?

    I just completed my first triathlon on Sunday and had a question: Do you suggest wearing a tri-suit under a wet-suit? It worked OK but wondering if you recommend something different to improve transition time, avoid damaging the integrity of the wetsuit, etc.? Thanks, keep doing what you're doing!

    • @pipapo3424
      @pipapo3424 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean you kind of have to unless you want to do the rest of the triathlon in the wetsuit as well. I also dont see how transition time would be improved if you would have to take the wetsuit off and put on another thing instead of just getting of the wetsuit.
      Congrats on your first tri!

    I've only ever used a sleeveless. I didn't like the restrictions on my arms.

    I have now subscribed . . . . did lots of triathlons years ago and had my Predator 2 in 2005 for Ironman . . . not a frequent performer since hence no upgrade but starting to get keen again so need an upgrade - any recommendation most welcome (I’m not a great swimmer - but ok)

    I’m a decent swimmer - having swum competition when younger my problem with the Tri suits is my shape I am 5’9’’ tall and a 46-47’’ chest and 13st 2lbs I’m looking for a suit to use over the winter just to keep fit . Any recommendations on which one’s would be worth checking I really would appreciate it. My existing suit is a medium and significantly restricts my shoulders and looking back to when I bought it was not aware of how would effect when doing cold sea swimming.

    Hi GTN, would you consider making a video comparing jogging vs sprinting? I've been considering swapping over to sprinting but wanted some professional advice first. Cheers

    Is it a good or bad idea to use a swimming wetsuit for water sports as well? I am just starting some windsurfing but would like to carry on swimming as well. Will it be an issue to wear the same wetsuit for both?

    • @perro0076
      @perro0076 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although I am new to open water triathlon. I can answer that because I surf. The 'rub' is on the wear parts and thickness to keep you warm. A tri wetsuit for windsurfing would probably be OK (depending on warmth) as you are essentially standing up most of the time, but it wouldn't be for surfing. On a surf board you rub quite a lot on the elbows, belly and especially thighs and knees. I tri suit suit would probably last a week if you use it for surfing.
