Thanks again, John! I used this on my TX16S today. I definitely wanted a 2-stage arming sequence because funny things can happen while moving my wheelchair! I was able to use L06 ON to play the Siren sound, play the track Throttle Active and turn on SD LOGS. !L06 now plays the track Throttle Cut. Originally, I just had them on my throttle active/cut switch.
Good Video. I use 2 stage arming by holding a momentary switch AND turning the arming switch ON (the motor will not arm unless both switches are closed at the same time and the throttle is -98). I like the timing aspect of this. I may add the timing line to my logic switch. Thank you
Yes! I want to use my momentary switch as a safety, So SH has to be held on AND SF switched up before arming. But importantly, I would like to have to do the reverse to disarm. So hold the SH up and switch SF back to disarm. But I have no idea how to set this! any help would be amazing.
Haven't moved from gliders to power yet. But, when I do, everything will get this 2 stage arming method. I've seen too many dangerous incidents where the throttle was active without the pilot being ready. Thanks for all these little tips!
Love those logical switches! I believe if you took the time, you could just about do anything with them. Just a matter of figuring it all out. Nice video John. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing this. Trying to replicate these same steps with the Radiomaster Boxer, using SA instead of SH - but it isn't working. I have to reverse SA switch positions in L05 and LO6. Perhaps this a bug in the Companion? Also, it isn't clerar (from the video) how to list the special function (sequence) in your arming channel... e.g. CH5 for ELRS to actually arm or disarm the FC. Thanks.
Good video. I have a Futaba 14SG, Spectrum DX8G2 and the Radiomaster for my helis, planes and quads .(yes I know i need to consolidate). Regardless of aircraft or radio type I learned the hard way to run 2 safety switches. One being a throttle cut and the other being a zero throttle curve. It's too easy to bump 1 switch and the throttle to be slightly on without realizing it.
Very interesting and informative video. Excellent demonstration and explanation of how your setup works. I use a 2 switch arming with edge and stcky for safety. Happy flying. 🤓
One thing that me a while to figure out... how to set the Special Function to override the throttle on !L06. I easily found L06 but I couldn't scroll up or down to !L06. So I tried long-pressing on L06. Lo and behold, L06 switched to !L06. I'm not certain id this is an oversight or it's intentional. In other screens, we can scroll through all the "positive" logical switches and or through all the "not" logical switches. I'll post a question where some ETX devs can see it. I'm on v2.7.
Steven, If you look in the #edgetx channel on discord, I just took a picture of a special function list showing !L01 in my list by scrolling up. It came in right after !6U and before !FMx
Thank you for all videos, but on this one... how do unarm... once you go turn two position off, you can flip it back on at any time without sequence... only rebooting the radio?
I'm not sure I understand your question. Arming is shown in the video. You can arm anytime using the sequence shown. If you disarm and want to arm, follow the sequence shown. You do not have to reboot the radio.
Not sure how but you lost me at L01. I tried putting something similar into my radio but not mater what I'm doing I'm getting the same output regardless of the AND switch position. I think I'm messing up Func or V1 or V2. I'll go try to figure out what those are supposed to represent.
The arming sequence in this video occurs entirely on the radio which doesn't know or care what you're connected to. So there's more to the story as the sequence 100% works.
Yeah, it's helpful to cheat. I usually have a template for new models that includes common programming and of course Companion makes editing substantially easier.
So, I set up my radio exactly like this, everything works as it should, when I plug in the plane the throttle is locked, I arm the plane, the throttle works as it should... But then when I hit my throttle lock switch to lock it again, the motor starts running and I can't stop it until I unplug the batteries... Just chewed up a prop but got lucky it didn't chew me up

Awesome! Way to adapt for your needs. You've embraced the ZEN of EdgeTX :)

You're welcome. Glad to help.

Thanks Bill. They are an incredibly powerful tool for the radio.
I was thinking of using the momentary buttons on the Zorro with "Sicky" logical switches to do this. The video really helped. Thanks.
Glad it helped. You're very welcome.
This is a great idea. Never occurred to me to program arming with this kind of logic
Lots of flexibility in this platform. I still learn new things on a regular basis.
nice video John always thinking!

Yeah, I get the privilege of seeing lots of comments and questions. That's what drives me to make these types of videos.

That's why I love this operating system so much. There are plenty of options to get things done.

No problem
Thanks for sharing! I used your parameters on my Boxer radio and unfortunately it did not work. Is this arming sequence for airplanes only?
The arming sequence in this video occurs entirely on the radio which doesn't know or care what you're connected to. So there's more to the story as the sequence 100% works.
I like that! I only wish the editing process would be easier.

Does this support multiple receiver like flysky , frsky , etc ?
That's totally independent of any receiver type.
