My father was a Japanese prisoner of war working on the railway you visited. He suffered cruelty, disease and hunger throughout years of captivity. Watching your excellent vlog I’m not sure if the commercialisation of bridge detracts from the suffering and lives lost building the railway. Thank you though for your comments and making a journey that has shown me just what it is like today. Respect to you both for your fantastic journeys.

My respect for you guys has just sky rocketed ❤️ Another fantastic clip. Love you both. Safe travels.
As always a great video....my father was a prisoner of war on the 'death railway' and helped to build the bridge. He clearly survived as I am here! I travelled from Exeter to Bosnia this year on my bike (BMW R 1250 RT) and spent 6 weeks backpacking around Cambodia a couple of years ago.....I am now persuaded to hire a bike in Thailand.....thank you.
Great video. I am 79, takes me at least a week to get over my jet lag from the USA. Feel the same way about your experience at the bridge. When you get to Chiang Mai, a great little morning ride to get out of the city is to head Wat Phra That Doi Kham a little south of the airport, motorcycle parking at the very top of the road. Then take the little back road that runs behind the temple to 1269 to Valley Coffee at Lanna Resort, the guard will wave you guys through. Then head to Elefin Farm & Cafe to have lunch with the elephants, about 20 minutes down 1269. You will enjoy 1269, great 2 lane road, no traffic. Head back to CM, park the bikes & walk around old town.
A great advert for the fact that most people in the world are decent, despite what the media would have you believe. Good watch, team OTRA. Ride safe 👍
Really enjoying this trip of yours. That car in the museum is a morris Oxford built from about 1948 onwards so not really correct for the museum. My uncle was in Burma in WW2. He came back a different person from what my father said. They went through alot.
Really enjoying your videos. So down to earth and you both have a great perspective on your experiences. I feel like I'm on the journey with you, checking out new, (for the most part) totally alien and wonderful world. You are great ambassadors for the western society. Keep up the good work 👍
One of the very best vloggs you have done. I knew you both already had morals and this was highlighted on the bridge. So so happy you are both loving the RE 650. I love mine too! Ride safe ! Well done in producing an amazing vlogg 😊

Yes, you are so right about the disrespectful manner people seem to want to be entertained by making over the top videos or pictures, with ignoring what actually happened at such a historical place... because more and more people believe that everything is there to entertain them... so glad you guys however do have the respect such a place deserves. Thank you for that !

We are really enjoying your Thai trip. We noticed that you both look really comfortable on the Royal Enfield’s. Being able to flat foot it on a bike will make it so much easier to handle . Loving all the “foods” you trying, we love spicy food so we would certainly enjoy it, only thing is some of the meat seems suspect!!! Stay safe and enjoy.. love ya bye😜❣️❣️

Rich & Ewa. Another great video. Congratulations on making every effort to immerse yourselves into the Thai culture! It’s all too easy to step back and find fault with other countries….especially if they’re so different to the U.K. As for the meat in Ewa’s meal at 12:33…..the best way I found was to see if there’s a small bell in the bottom of the dish or the remains of a collar and name tag! 🤢🐈🐕🦺 Superb entertainment……mixed with a little heart felt reflection on unhappier times of conflict! Well done…….❤🩷
Great video guys, good to see you settling in and chilling out. Thai people pick up on your positve attitude, respectful manner and really appreciate that. Good to get up in the mountains at the hottest part of the day as it is a lot cooler and more shade. Ewa, if you want spicy ask for pet maak, Rich would be better off with my pet {not spicy} Had to chuckle at your remark about the disabled ramp😄 Really enjoying watching your adventures, stay safe.

Another great video guys, loving this side of the Chanel. Loved the museum footage and I completely agree with your sentiment of respect in the area around such a historic place. Hope you can sort the drone Rich all the best and ride safe.
Just a word...if you are heading for Chiang Mai and maybe the Mae Hong song loop (recommended) consider the direct road from Mae Sot that joins the loop at Mae sariang (highway 105) Its a full days ride but you will thank me. Stay the night and then on to Mae hong song itself.
I’ve been to Thailand many times since early 2000s. It changed a lot since then and almost as wealthy as some Eastern European countries. I agree with you it makes you want to live there. No country perfect but it’s not a bad place to live. Once I retire from the police force me and the misses seriously considering the move. I love the Uk for what it was, but it’s been on the decline for a while now and I really think in the next 20years it will be unrecognisable.
@ I met so many Northern Europeans living in Gran Canaria as it’s much cheaper to live/ more sunshine. Low pensions and high cost of living is a driving force. The council tax is one example, if it increase by 5% every year but could increase to 10%/ 15% then by the time most people retire, how they going to pay it. Other things will have to be sacrificed.
Another great epiosode guys 🥰 not sure on Ewa choise of drinks they look nasty and i think the water with spring onions was just spring water 😂 keep them coming 👍
Highway 12 from khon Khaen to Mae sot is a great road too. as is highway 1149 from Chiang rai to Mae sai............its a must..on the latter visit the Kings' mothers mountain retreat...mae fah luang.
Great video, I really enjoyed watching. In my limited travels overseas I have always met friendly and welcoming people it's a shame I can't say that about Britain, everybody seems to be angry here, WTF. Many thanks.
We were just talking about this last night, you’ll see soon. We treat everyone with suspicion in the uk, you don’t look at another person in the street… Here people mean you nothing but kindness, you can’t believe it
Another great video, gutted you didn't sort the drone, thought that shop may have pulled it out of the bag for you (was hoping as I watched) never mind 🙏🏻. My uncle (Brett's ) lives in the north of Thailand he's been into motorbikes before he could talk 🤣, he's now in his late sixties and still smashes his motocross bike through the jungle 🤣🤣🤣 only recently was sent a Watts app video of him 🤣. The rest of the world could learn a lot from Thai men and women ❤️ beautiful people ❤️❤️❤️. Wars have never achieved anything and it's even more heartbreaking when you realise wars are funded by the same side 😭. Only the TV tells us to hate . Safe travels sending love, peace and good energy ❤️🙏🏻
Another great video! I am so happy you are enjoying Thailand, it is our favourite place to escape UK winter. I think you will enjoy Thailand even more when you explore outside Bangkok. Where do you have on your list of places to go? and how long are you in Thailand for?
Hi Eddie, we are loving Thailand. We just plan to explore in our usual way seeing as much as possible. Do you know of any must see biker locations, cafes etc to visit?
@@ontheroadadventure north Thailand is popular for bikers because of the quiter roads, great twists and views. There is the famous "Mae Hong Son Loop" up there also for bikers, which is 600km with 1800 turns - have a look and let me know what you think.
Aloha mates.... not sure where your riding next, since you are in the area, try the ride up the hill to Sangklaburi.. nice ride, guest houses and cool temple.. Cheers
The bowl with spring onions in it is soup, you will have to try Pad Gra Pow Mu, pad is fried, gra pow is thai basil and mu is pork Ask for ( my pet) or Mai phet, not spicy With a fried egg (Kai dow) You can get in anywhere, just like fish and chips in the UK
Rich, there are 2 Snake Farms in the World, one in Borneo and the other Bangkok. It's a must place to visit m8. One of the handlers there starred in a Rambo film. You get a chance to hold some snakes. Oh, plus you get the chance to taste snake. Lush. Love the video's

Thanks we will look it up 👍
Thanks for your great videos
Glad you like them! Great to have you along with us
Rich & Ewa this is the place im going to fretire to
It would be a good choice
I’ve been to Thailand many times since early 2000s. It changed a lot since then and almost as wealthy as some Eastern European countries. I agree with you it makes you want to live there. No country perfect but it’s not a bad place to live. Once I retire from the police force me and the misses seriously considering the move. I love the Uk for what it was, but it’s been on the decline for a while now and I really think in the next 20years it will be unrecognisable.
You are not alone in your thoughts, studies are showing allot of Brits, more and more each year are looking to abandon ship. It’s such a shame
Another great epiosode guys 🥰 not sure on Ewa choise of drinks they look nasty and i think the water with spring onions was just spring water 😂
keep them coming 👍
😂😂😂
Highway 12 from khon Khaen to Mae sot is a great road too. as is highway 1149 from Chiang rai to Mae sai............its a must..on the latter visit the Kings' mothers mountain retreat...mae fah luang.
Thanks we will look those up 👍
Fantastic.
Thank you! Cheers!
Loving your Adventure fantastic you two brilliant it’s a shame about your drone 👍👍
Thanks Andrew yes we are gutted about the drone, would have been beautiful here
Great video, I really enjoyed watching. In my limited travels overseas I have always met friendly and welcoming people it's a shame I can't say that about Britain, everybody seems to be angry here, WTF. Many thanks.
We were just talking about this last night, you’ll see soon. We treat everyone with suspicion in the uk, you don’t look at another person in the street… Here people mean you nothing but kindness, you can’t believe it
Quality,Respect.
Cheers bud
We don’t watch TV for that reason. Nothing good comes from hatred to others
@ontheroadadventure so true 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Thanks Eddie we hope to get up there 👍
Its a sombre and thought provoking place .... i hope you got to go to the 7 waterfalls park ...
It really is… We did go near the waterfalls you mean I think but didn’t fancy the walking about in the heat
I spied a Harley Davidson bottle on your table at the end lol. Glad you finally got a good feed Rich
Yes, Harley water here for some odd reason
@@ontheroadadventure They have good taste there then :)
You pair are great good information and banter but Ewa you have a wicked sense of humour 😂😂
Thanks, yes we cant go a day without messing around and having a laugh! Glad to have you with us
Love this video!
Thank you!!
Hi guys, i am getting contact-acclimated by watching your adventure. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent 👌
Aloha mates.... not sure where your riding next, since you are in the area, try the ride up the hill to Sangklaburi.. nice ride, guest houses and cool temple.. Cheers
Thanks, We will head into the areas very soon 👍
The bowl with spring onions in it is soup, you will have to try Pad Gra Pow Mu, pad is fried, gra pow is thai basil and mu is pork
Ask for ( my pet) or Mai phet, not spicy
With a fried egg (Kai dow)
You can get in anywhere, just like fish and chips in the UK
Its not bad, just i need 3 of them lol
Great content 👌 poor old rich and his spices.😅
Haha cheers 👍
My Uncle survived building the Thai-Burma railway. RIP Ted.
It’s unimaginable what he must have gone through in this heat
Rich, there are 2 Snake Farms in the World, one in Borneo and the other Bangkok. It's a must place to visit m8. One of the handlers there starred in a Rambo film. You get a chance to hold some snakes. Oh, plus you get the chance to taste snake. Lush. Love the video's
Snake farms all over the world 😊
Not for me I’m afraid!
Ummm no thanks!
Ignorance is my bliss!
Me and you can wait somewhere else
The car in the museum looks like a Morris Minor
Could well be
You are so respectful when you visit war museums!😊
Nothing else is appropriate we think
what a place to visit! shame about a drone, I do miss these moments in your videos
We will see what we can do
I must admit I’m surprised you can get drone accident insurance as I would have thought the majority of them crash at some stage
Yes I have it insured but it’s problematic to get it sorted from Asia in Europe
I love the videos you guy’s make so keep up the good work👍.
I’ve watched your tour around Europe and now in Thailand but I’ve got to ask why don’t you use Google translate it makes life so much easier when travelling to different countries?
Good luck with food as you get further from the cities Rich😂
The country is beautiful and the people are amazing, stay safe and enjoy❤.
We do use it but it’s often not effective here, we will show you in an upcoming video… we tried it at a restaurant last night with amusing results
You need to show us on a map the journey for the day and where you are now
We have no idea ourselves most the time 😂
Cruiser style suits you Rich
Thanks Ian, I’ve owned and loved a few of them over the years
the reason it quite its there they stay in shade and rest in the day and come out at night
Yes someone told us a saying here: only Englishmen and mad dogs are out in the midday sun 😄
