THEORY TIME:
I really think this is about a relationship (no duh a lyric has "When I love you") but it's more or a fragile relationship. The girl (singing the song) knows that she's fragile and easily shattered like PORCELAIN. This is because she's dealing with depression (seen in the lyrics "What if I dropped, dropped the steering wheel/Closed my eyes/Drove, drove faster") and anxiety (shown in lyrics "Hold your horses/Hold, hold the border/Don't come closer"). She doesn't want to show her partner these parts of her which can be shown in what she says and with how relationships work, that would worry or hurt her partner (shown in lyrics "Just about a million ways to harm you/All the things I shouldn't say"). Her partner most likely insists on her to talk anyways and is happy with her talking (shown in lyrics "Are the things that when I want to make you happy/Only comes out of me"). However, what she says could easily end everything that holds the relationship together which is why in the lyric "We have got the power of destruction" makes sense to come before "You can always let it fall" because her partner persisting in her speaking about it. It'll be them to bring down their destruction. That's the big reason why she's "like porcelain". It's because she's thinning herself and wearing herself down. Since she's so worn down, she's no longer independent and needs to depend on her partner, afraid that they would let go "Don't, don't let go of me". With all of this their relationship is holding on a string if best, nothing solid. The way people would try to fix for relationships is to talk it out for from previously said statements, she can't and won't talk. In other words, "But when we try to work on something solid/It is too goddamn hard" and "When everything that matters made of glass". She always thinks of how it might be if he finally got sick of her and she had to move on to someone else but knows it'll take an eternity. This explains "Give it a thought, it takes a lot/To trust that someone else will catch my fall/It takes a lifetime, breaking goes fast". This entire song is her struggles about the woman's relationship. Think about her last line of the entire song one more time....
