Healing after a fixation plate and healing after an intramedullary nail are two different things. The healing after the plate can take considerably longer than wheel healing after an intramedullary nail. If I understand correctly, Connor was treated with an intramedullary nail. This can be expected to heal within 8 to 10 or at most 12 weeks if all is going according to plan. With some complications healing may be delayed but otherwise, healing will be quicker with an intramedullary nail then with other methods of fixation.
It was 5am in England when the McGregor Vs Aldo fight was on. We were all at my mates flat in the centre of Liverpool, drunk and twisted, one of my mates was desperate for a shit. He went the toilet, thinking “I’ll only miss the first 30 seconds.” We all cheered, he ran out, it was all over. Great times.
Funny when Cung Le posted a pic clearly after working out (gym background and sweaty), Rogan accused him of steroids. Conor McGregor posts a pic at 190lbs and flexing, Joe Rogan says he may have just finished a work out. I love Joe, but he's known to make biased judgements. Obvious favouritism
The difference is Conor is young and in his prime while cung le was old as hell, had never looked like that before and had no business looking like that at his age
What makes Conor McGregor such a fantastic puncher is the fact that he doesn't close his eyes ever. All the best punches in the UFC shares that trait. Most fighters flinch a little bit whenever someone hits them or throws a punch at them, but Conor McGregor keeps his eyes open the entire time and he's able to find openings in the middle of the other person's combo. I don't know why he doesn't let his hands go anymore like he used to, the money I guess.
I think he is looking for the highlight reel knockout. He needs to just flat stop with that spinning back kick he ALWAYS tries in the first minute or so of every fight

There was a moment during a Conor Aldo press conference where it was clear that Conor had his number. Conor sat back w his feet on the table, knowing it would spur Aldo to relax and do the same. As soon as Aldo relaxes, Conor leaps up and grabs Aldo's belt. It was then I knew he had predicted his game perfectly.

Connor had a phase of domination and hunger. Like Mike Tyson had a phase of pure destruction. And neither of them lost a fight during it. Then later after money and a few life events and the phase of destruction passed. They took their 1st loss... every now and again u see someone in that phase of pure wrath.. and once it's gone they never get it back.
@@startingtech3900 Not with $100+M. It’s not just about the motivation. The kind of money and fame changes the way you can interact with the world without becoming an immediate target for people.
You’ve got to consider that he always said, even from the begining, that his primal motivation was making money, which he absolutely did. He is a great example of what pure motivation looks in a man and we all should respect him for that.
To be a double champ in the ufc like he did in his previous mma promotion and to make millions. AS SOON as he achieved his goals he started to fall off. It was like he was on godmode then said "Meh. Alright that's enough".
What’s great about the Aldo victory is the footwork. Connor intentionally was stepping inside Aldo’s left foot to tease him and pull him into feeling he had the advantage (when your foot is outside it gives you the power advantage). Connor jumped in and out of that position to try and bait Aldo to surge forward and Connor was ready when he did. And few guys can counter off the back foot moving backwards.
McGregor getting jacked makes me less optimistic about his chances of getting back near his best, his cardio is already his biggest weakness; and his power has always come from his speed rather than size. Would prefer to see him leaner and possibly going back down to featherweight, with modern nutrition he should be able to make the cut without looking like skeletor on the scales, Ortega, Holloway, Volkanovski, Kattar etc all walk around heavier than Conor
Agreed. Also, Conor's fight training should be 75% grappling (i.e. jui jitsu, wrestling, Judo)/ 25% striking because he continuously loses versus grapplers.
Conors cardio isn't a issue lmfao what world you in. Went 5 hard rounda with diaz and won went 4 hard rounds with khabib and got caught in a sub wasn't because he was gassed
One of the last things to leave a fighter is punching power from strength and size, lots of fighters start focusing more on that as their other attributes start fading with age. Personally I think Conor lost his edge after his second belt. Not even attempting a single title defense is not something real champions would even consider doing, he just became all about the money and fame instead of the fighting
@@MegaMma4life he looked pretty exhausted in the fight with khabib he's never had the best cardio which is why someone that can pressure with grappling and keep him at bay tires him out faster than someone going at him purely with striking
People get so emotionally invested in his attitude and personality outside of the ring, they completely disregard how good he was. The guy was silky smooth. Definitely could have been one of the GOATs, but being worth $400m, how many of us could seriously keep training let alone deal with having that kind of money? Had a 8 inch plate and a half dozen screws put in. Was pretty much bed ridden for about 8 weeks, on at least one crutch for around a year, and didn't return to work until about 16 months after the injury. Had another surgery at the 3 year point to remove the hardware because of pain. 6 Years later and I still wear a brace often doing work or a lot of walking. Really need a full knee replacement, would be a faster recovery than another reconstruction.
What made Conor so good was that he was patient, would set traps and use his accuracy to pick his shots. Now he just marches forward flat footed and throws big shots looking for ko. Instead of just looking to land clean shots.
@@Kwehhhhh for sure, but what I mean is that with Eddie he was calm and patient. Picked his shots and broke him down. With Dustin he was trying so hard to put him out in the first round that he exposed himself to Dustins big shots.
His performance against Alvarez reminds me of his performance against Ivan Buchinger. If you haven't seen that counter punch KO, you need to. Put it in slow mo and just watch how fast that reaction time and counter punch was. That McGregor is gone not because he's a different person. He said it himself long ago, wife and kids and now business ventures and all sorts of other things... he's grown past being just a fighter and people inherently consider that a bad thing. To criticize the things he says and how he promoted a fight, that's one thing. However, to expect him to be as invested as he was is simply unrealistic. He still loves it just as much, obviously. Seriously, why else would he fight? He just simply doesn't have the same openings in terms of time and energy to invest. The victor is more often than not the one who has the resources and willingness to sacrifice more. He simply has too much to lose now to adapt, especially with how fast MMA is evolving and will evolve over the next few decades.
Yeah I always thought that. Especially when Ivan/Eddie both swung Conor ducked then *bang* that was Ivans lights out.. cracking left hand. Theres Buschinger/Alvarez fight similarities, that's for sure. Even Conor beforehand mentioned in the presser "I've been smoking Eddies style for a long time" guess he was right!💯
Idk this leg injury may be the perfect storm. Having to sit back and watch all the talking for a year might be exactly the spark needed to bring that flame back.
@@joshwilliams6517 Perhaps, of course we'll just have to wait and see. Another speculation I've had is that people are criticizing his bulk up, stating that he already had "bad" cardio. Sometimes our best bet is doubling down on our strengths; the answer isn't always focusing on your weaknesses. Furthermore, it could make him a stronger grappler. Sure, maybe not technically better, but there is a reason there are weight divisions in wrestling and BJJ.
It was because he was charging forward. All of Aldos weight transfered into his chin. Brilliant use of the matador technique. Conors technique of bouncing in and out of range while staying perfectly on that edge , was a masterclass.
He was in range he jus landed precisely and first shows u how skilled he is which is why khabib ran from that rematch watch that fight again and u see khabib panic for the takedown early tier him out then strike with him later on
You think that's just gonna happen magically? He's got to want it, not just pretend like he does. He used to actually really want it badly. What does he want now? Endless streams of cash?
He is where he was talking about Aldo...he has a family now and his bank account plus Injuries....you can't stay at that level for too long. It's like bodybuilders trying to win Mr. Olympia, grueling work just to get there and they only look like that for a couple hours. It's not sustainable.

It was to become a double champ and make more money than he can spend... and he achieved it some damn quick.

Right, he needs to hire professional trainers! Oh wait, youtube says otherwise haha

Had a tibia plateau fracture in my left leg (Broken shin bone right on top under the knee, I actually crushed it not so much fractured it), torn ALC, PCL and Meniscus.
I mean the shots he landed on Dustin in the second fight would have easily finished a smaller dude like he was doing back in the day.

Every minute Ari forgets who Joe's talking about 😂. "Who?"
