I haven't had any issues with Walmart or Target records except when I bought the new Tears For Fears record at Target and it didn't have the bonus 7" in it. I tried to return it at the store that I got the replacement at and they made me go back to the original store where I was able to return it.
Yeah me neither I just got static that one time at a different Walmart That I bought it from. And even when I told them I wanted the diver down repress instead they didn’t have any problems with that.
I got the Led Zeppelin houses of the holy press from Walmart with the replica pass. It sounds great. I think this is less of a problem with Walmart, and more of a problem with Warner Brothers who pressed the Van Halen records.
The back stage passes would be a cool extra to include with the album! (I have not bought a LP from Walmart, yet) I do like your hat by the way! Good deal paying $5 for the $1.99 record! Oops! Someone was not paying attention when then priced it the second time or it came from another collection. In the past, and I haven’t bought and Record in years, I never had one skip. We don’t have a Walmart in our town and it’s a couple hours drive each way till warmer throw it would be disappointed if I bought one and it’s skipped. Not sure how they’re pressing to do that. I bought the box set and after I saw there was an issue with VH I, I played mine and sure enough....SKIP in 3 spots....not sure what to do, being that I got the full box set, not individuals
Send the whole box set back to Walmart. They will replace it with a new box set. That is what I had to do. It took only a matter of a few days to get the replacement.
Three trips tp Walmart, sounds like a good title for a horror film! I kid, I have picked up a few records at wallyworld, and you are right if you have an issue they will return it or let you swap it, thanks for sharing, and for all the cool vids you post, Peace!
Lol 😂 yes this is why I felt justified in keeping one of the backstage passes. Heck I could’ve kept all three no one even cared to look. But I felt it was 1 was adequate compensation for the three trips to WallyWorld 😁

Tell them about the TH-cam vinyl community. Tell them this is a known issue and they are selling damage merchandise. Tell them it has their name on it many of us have returned or exchange these records without any problems. Ya gotta fight for it. Don’t let these retail people push you around.
Good morning Russ. I live in Texarkana, AR. and I bought the Van Halen debut and yes, it has the three clicks during Jamies Crying. At least it doesn`t skip, so I`m keeping it. I also bought Journey Escape remastered on clear vinyl has a skip on one song that I can`t get out. Store said that they can`t take it back because I opened it...duh! Gonna try corporate. Fingers crossed.

I to have that Journey album to mine doesn’t have any issues but the first one did that’s one of the four records I returned and they traded it straight across for a new copy. Will they not even let you trade for a replacement of the same album? It’s a damage merchandise they should at least let you trade for the same copy. I would ask for the manager, tell them it has their name on it! I don’t know if outside of your stores Authority of contact and corporate is going to help. Maybe Walmart has a marketing team that may be interested in the fact that there’s a whole vinyl community on TH-cam that starting to become aware of the quality of “Walmart exclusives” and is this how they want to be seen customer service wise in the community of record collectors? @@RussShawTV Well. good news. I decided this morning to go over the employee`s head that told me I couldn`t exchange it and called the store manager. She herself did not know their return policy for record albums, but told me to bring my record along with receipt and they would exchange it for me. So I did and they did and now I`m a happy camper! I guess the moral to this story is do not accept the word of a employee, but go straight to the boss and get it resolved. Have a great day!
I'm tempted to buy these ya know if had a real pass I'd grab c mon it's fake .I had the original cds n 1st pressings of all Dave era .I got the remaster cds .I hoped I d see the wolf lineup. Well I did nt. I got the vh 2 vinyl remaster. The color is beautiful. Played it ..any way the quality on these was replaced by cash grab greed. That's the bigness. The fan gets shit on

Walmarts doing a new thing where you can buy insurance on records like two or three bucks that you can return them. No questions asked. If you do buy it, I love to hear back from you to see if these are all damaged or was it just the ones that I got almost a year ago?
Yeah, who knows what’s going on with Warner Bros. sending these records to Walmart. To be clear, Walmart doesn’t press any records they are just another retailer but they do have the Walmart exclusive so they are in some kind of cahoots with the labels. I have a many Walmart records. Most of them sounds good and are of good quality. One thing I do like about Walmart is you may have to be persistent, but they will take damaged records back, which is not something I can say for all of the indie record stores, But I get that as well because of their overhead, which I also understand. It’s the “labels”, their name on their product. They should have some pride in and responsibility for, and therefore, should have a decent return policy for bad quality😡

Not sure where they’re pressed. It’s Warner that process and I’m not Walmart. These record companies just get exclusive deals from what I understand with Walmart to sell color variances and such.

If it’s not a pressing issue. 🤔 Then why are there three pressings from three different states across America with the same issue? Florida, Arkansas and here in Everett Washington. All of them have the same flaws in the wax on the same song Jamie’s crying in the exact same place. Manufacturing defect, bad pressing whatever language you want to use this is damaged physical media. And such a prestigious pressing plant should have known what was going on before they sent so many of them out.

Yeah I kept one of the backstage passes. I still have my original copy probably a re-press from the 80s. But I think I’m going to be content with that after returning three of these.

Walmart is no pressing records. They are pressed in the same facilities as the other reissues. They are merely a distributor.
WalMart also did the replica passes with Led Zeppelin and Eagles albums as well.
That Van Halen sounded like it was running fast, and the intro seemed to be edited, unless it skipped.

You could send it back to Warner Bros. Tell them it’s in known defect.

Bought VH 1 three x, still no good. The third time was from a different location. Those walmart editions are junk. Buy at your own risk!

They are pressed at Optimal Media in Germany. One of the best. So, it's not the pressing that's the issue.
