this doesn't sound very much like Beat Furrer to me. to be honest, to me it sounds like something any other composer could do. may I have overheard something?

Beat tries to develop further. Maybe in retrospective, this could be seen as a work of transition…?

In general (with the exception of n.3) I found his string quartets very different from his other stuff. With that said in this quartet you can hear some traces of Furrer's signature sound like in the passages at 6:13 and 8:55. Also the pizzicati at 11:18 are very spur like and the final of the piece is a very classical Furrer's finalization.
