My Dad and I always tuned in on Sundays for Mark Martin, he was our favorite. I was lucky enough that for my first race in person, he won at TMS, I'll never forget how awesome that was!
I had the pleasure to meet him in 2018 at a local autograph session. Very humble and always smiling. I asked him how he was enjoying retirement, and he looked at me with a huge grin and replied he was loving every minute. He has certainly earned everything he has.
Zack McConnell I haven’t watched much since Mark retired either. But I know there has been a lot of rule changes and different scoring system. I watched the race a couple of weeks ago I didn’t know 3/4 of the drivers. Sad really because I was die hard for a long time. Rarely did I miss watching a race.
When it came to NASCAR back in the 90s I ate and slept Mark Martin. He was my man and still is. The smallest guy among drivers but with the biggest heart. He never won Daytona or championship but he was a better driver then some who have. He still left his mark on the sport, pun intended. It's good to see him doing so well in retirement. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. The museum looks very impressive and I would sure like to check it out someday.
Great guy met him in 2000 at the Winston Preview in Winston Salem NC and I saw him again when I was working in the Fly In in Port Orange FL. I wish he was still racing he was my favorite driver
Love Mark. I had the privilege to meet him and his son quite a few times. He lived about 15 minutes away and my dad was his private pilot. Great guy, amazing racecar driver! I used to drool over his cars in his old hangar!
They don’t make them like mark Martin anymore, he wasn’t a super super star but you knew he was a great race car driver, I’m glad to see him successful after racing!!
Mark looks like he could get right back in to it. Would love to see him run in another All Star race as a past champion or have a All Star race of nothing but retired drivers.
Had the pleasure an privilege to see Mark Martin race for the first time since he retired at Riverside Speedway in James River Nova Scotia . The car woofed her cookies about 60 to 70 laps but was still a assome sight to see him drive
Hi. I chased down his golf cart at Michigan Speedway, before the race, and got to shake his hand and wish him luck. And he won! A special day for me, I'll never forget. 6 fan for life!
Mark Martiñ was my man back from the red Folgers car when he was fighting Dale Earnhardt for champion. Got to see him win a race at Talladega. The fastest Talladega race ever. It was a rain date and I think there was no caution the whole race. It was back 98 I believe , fun time my buddy went with his girl it got rained out so they were partying with people and one of the poeple they were hanging out with couldn't come back for the rain redo so he gave my buddy his ticket and he took me for free. Great memory of Mark and racing back then.
My favorite driver because of his integrity, passion and the red, white and Valvoline car he was driving when I first saw him. Also liked his Viagra car it was blue my favorite color and comical because the sponsor fit him well because of his age.
Miss all the guys racing. Great guy was about the best fit of any driver. Mark and Rusty Wallace my favorite drivers. Also have to throw in awesome Bill from Dawsonville.
We all make mistakes just don't usually have cameras recording those mistakes. Mark Martin was the same person if not even nicer when he convinced me to get the strawberry shortcake from the concessions at Lakeland Speedway, then he had paid for it. It was funny cause I never acknowledged who he was other than asking how his sons truck was running (the reason he was at Lakeland).
My favorite all-time race car driver the man🐐 I would love to see Arkansas have a race track like Bristol or Martinsville and you can name it after Mark Martin Mark Martin International Speedway you can have the campground and that way people in that area can experience racing and have charitable events from now on and bring tourist dollars into Arkansas a lot of family fun and memories to be had God bless you all be safe🍷🙏
Nice to see Mark....been too long.. met him sleeping on his reebar trailer in the parking lot across from speedway. Strohs beer picked him up. 88 i think.
When people ask the question of "what is wrong with today's NASCAR?", my answer usually focuses on three areas: Drivers, the cars and race locations. Aside from the goofy looking Gen 6 car that races like crap and the expansion we saw at the end of the 1990s that moved races north and west at the expense of the southeast, my biggest gripe with today's NASCAR are the drivers themselves. I really miss having unique and interesting personalities such as Mark Martin competing on the circuit. There were once so many of them. Now it seems there are none. Not only do we have cookie cutter cars racing on cookie cutter 1.5 mile tracks, but we also have cookie cutter drivers that all seem to be from the same mold. In comparison to the previous generation of NASCAR drivers, the current group is so bland, boring and unappealing. And the few that are different (such as Kyle Busch) aren't really interesting or likable, they just stand out because they are such primadonnas and cry babies. What ever happened to these larger than life heroes that I once watched race on Sunday?
I used to love the "fights " after a race or interviews after a wreck. The ongoing feuds, darryl Waltrip, Earnhardt & Bodine, early Harvick, Tony Stewart.....the racers
I have the same name, people have said to me I only root for him because of his name (and mine).Bull, He is such a class act, and someone I always rooted for! He could have had a name of John Doe and I would have been a big fan! I wish he would be a race announcer,I would love to hear his take on nascar history!
Ya everyone says he is so fit and what not. And maybe he is....but he started looking really rough in his later years in racing. I ran into quite a few people in the Milwuakee area that said he was a big partier. A bar that Jimmy Fenning used to pop into now and again. Fenning was a cool guy. I can't believe that a few years of having some drinks would make him age as he has. Maybe just bad genetics
Enh...nascar did him dirty a couple times. Hard to beat the Man on or off the track during the golden era. The carb spacer deal that cost him a championship was bs. He did, however drive for one of the douchiest, lying, cheating scam artists in any business ever. Often times, the people you associate with make it seem like you have hard luck.
This shows what a class act Mark Martin is. #6 FOREVER
My Dad and I always tuned in on Sundays for Mark Martin, he was our favorite. I was lucky enough that for my first race in person, he won at TMS, I'll never forget how awesome that was!
Love Mark. He's such a humble cat and a genuine guy and was a hard racer.
Agreed 💯💯
Me and Mark Martin work together at Roush Fenway racing. . He is a class act
I had the pleasure to meet him in 2018 at a local autograph session. Very humble and always smiling. I asked him how he was enjoying retirement, and he looked at me with a huge grin and replied he was loving every minute. He has certainly earned everything he has.
My favorite all time driver. Greatest to never win a championship.
Zack McConnell
Greater than most who have.
@@it_is_finished I haven't really watched much since he retired. It's changed so much

The absolute epitomy of CLASS!! Not just one of the best race drivers of all-time, one of the greatest athletes of all-time!
A true gentleman and race car driver. He raced - not wreck people - not like todays Nascar.
....when did somebody last wreck somebody?
@Ernest George when? List the last 5 times
@Ernest George and when was the last 5 times he did that? Answer my original question
The last time I ever cried was when Harvick inched a win over Mark at the Daytona 500. Heart breaking.
That was brutal, I think I wanted to cry or strangle Harvick that was one race looking back that really hurt.
That was one I thought Mark was going to win! Was hard to except.
Great guy met him in 2000 at the Winston Preview in Winston Salem NC and I saw him again when I was working in the Fly In in Port Orange FL. I wish he was still racing he was my favorite driver
Mark Martin is a class act . . Kind of reminds me of my dad . . Small guy fit as a fiddle and down to earth and knows his stuff ! !

A genuinely nice guy. Wish he could’ve won a championship.
That one Daytona race would of been nice, Kevin Harvick.
They don’t make them like mark Martin anymore, he wasn’t a super super star but you knew he was a great race car driver, I’m glad to see him successful after racing!!
Mark keeps fit, he still looks like he can go another handful of seasons.
I allways pulled for Mark, I remember his battles with Dale Sr. I need the visit his place.
Mark Martin, A class act!
Mark looks like he could get right back in to it. Would love to see him run in another All Star race as a past champion or have a All Star race of nothing but retired drivers.
Mark Martin is THE BEST!!! The Greatest NASCAR driver never to wear the crown. A true champion regardless of the trophy.

What a gentleman. One of a kind, this man is.
I've put his museum on my bucket list.
What a great guy! As clean a driver as they come. .......

easiest NASCAR driver to talk to. doesn't know a sranger. great guy
Terrible intervening and timing of questions. Mark carried the whole segment
The Jimmy Buffett of Nascar.
I've met him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still feel like Mark could be a competitive driver in the sport. I actually appreciated his time at Hendrick more than anything else.
i stoped watching nascar when he retired
OMG he has aged alot wow
