I don't think they had any stall warnings only "altitude" and "pull up". The only time you want to hear "stall" near the ground is when you're a foot or two away from landing.

Unsung bravery of these men. As General Moseley said: AirPower is not about the aircraft, it’s about the people who fly them. Your bravery is out of the charts. May the skies treat you well!

I wish there was more cockpit or, at the very least any footage of these crews that battle from the air... @ well I would argue that we could have done better and we do not have bush management plans in MANY areas that need it. We did have crazy fires not so long ago...sooooooo
@24jake28 We also do use planes to put out fires miles from nowhere. Even lost a plane recently suppressing wildfire in the middle of nowhere. We just don't do it so obsessively and with such complete disregard for the megafire it creates. They love hero worship in the USA. So they get more and more suppression. Fire jumpers, planes, lots of money spent on making sure everything burns.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. But the angle of the nozzle seems to cause a nose down pitch effect (as seen when they test it on the ground), so maybe that offsets any immediate change in CG.
Absolute respect to these aviators. I’ve always loved the C-130 since a kid. And seeing these guys throw it around, constantly being bombarded with altitude and stall warnings just exemplifies their skills indeed. We salute you Sirs.
I think it remarkable that these aircrews can adapt to the mission set - even working in tandem with a lead spotter/ dump marking aircraft - with such competence and professionalism.
Superb flying sklls manoeuvering such big heavy lumbering airframes, which don't have snap-roll aileron response like a fighter or aerobatic plane! Lots of anticipation required for all controls including those mighty Allison engines. Kudos to the many skilled crews with their eyes constantly looking out the windows on swivels! Stay safe everyone!
This is the most ballsy, awesome job out there. Respect to these extremely competent pilots for flying super low to the terrain to put these fires out. The CA terrain especially is really dramatic, so flying that low in such a huge plane. Just props man. I am addicted to these videos too its an amazing view from the cockpit!

They are subject to all of the same rules as regular commercial pilots must adhere to. Same limits on number of hours flow. Really the only difference between this and long, boring commercial flights is rather than going in a straight line across the country. They’re just zigzagging back-and-forth. But they’re not doing any of this without the massive support system and they are following a preplanned route and the wind conditions have to be below a certain threshold above which all aerial firefighting is suspended. Which unfortunately was the case recently in Los Angeles, the first few days of the fire, the winds were simply too intense, but they could not use any of these aircraft.
