The best live performance ever by a duet. There was nothing but love and fun going on between these two. Brandy verse in the beginning was nothing short of amazing. Those runs were different than the original track but were so much better. Monica took it home at the ending. That's the mark of true singers when they can modulate live like that. I loved it

The truth is Brandy is more agile, vocally: her phrasing and of course those runs; the one thing Monica has over Brandy is volume. Monica has the bigger voice, stronger belt. Bigger is not always better though. I love them both by the way. Just a little note: Singers with a limited vocal range tend to be more agile than their 'big voice' counterparts.

Brandy's technique and musicianship flayed that ass..Brandy's lower register displayed more control, accuracy, timing, Effortless, and her tonal quality and multi-layered textures slayed. Monica lacks a bit of control and she doesn't hear and interprets the melodies and harmonies of song's structure as well as brandy, which is why her (runs/riffs) doesn't translate with the flow of the song's meter as well as brandy's. Brandy's lower register possessed more resonance than Monica's belts...wow!
That was an excellent analysis. Brandy has an ear that is unbelievable. That's why she can do all of those micro runs and hit all those different keys that I don't even know how to explain. It's like she hears it and duplicated and then puts her own Magic on top of it I've never heard anybody do that. And I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have a father who is a vocal instructor on top of the gift. All of this helped her to perfect it she truly keeps getting better and better and she was amazing when she first came out the gate. Brandy's technique and musicianship flayed that ass..Brandy's lower register displayed more control, accuracy, timing, Effortless, and her tonal quality and multi-layered textures slayed. Monica lacks a bit of control and she doesn't hear and interprets the melodies and harmonies of song's structure as well as brandy, which is why her (runs/riffs) doesn't translate with the flow of the song's meter as well as brandy's. Brandy's lower register possessed more resonance than Monica's belts...wow!

That was an excellent analysis. Brandy has an ear that is unbelievable. That's why she can do all of those micro runs and hit all those different keys that I don't even know how to explain. It's like she hears it and duplicated and then puts her own Magic on top of it I've never heard anybody do that. And I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have a father who is a vocal instructor on top of the gift. All of this helped her to perfect it she truly keeps getting better and better and she was amazing when she first came out the gate. Only Brandy and Whitney Houston when I first heard those voices that I stopped what I was doing and say who is this. And I've heard a lot of good singers in 50 plus years trust me I have. 😑
