I beat this as a kid and never really realized just what a close experience it really was to Megaman X/X2/X3. I thought it was my child imagination filling in the gaps but like holy shit look at how smooth Zero's sword swipes are! I'm absolutely floored at just how good all the sprites/artwork look for such a tiny little screen.

I noticed when playing as X is the Easy Mode, but when playing as Zero is the Hard mode, but when unlocking Xtreme Mode, they play as X or Zero to take on all 8 at once without switching out.
X2 had terrible instrumentations that really killed what little good music it had. Xtreme 2: Soul Eraser fixed the tunes and made them really freaking great.
