I know it’s not what your channel was for but thank you for filming this. It was great seeing the clock tower in Coalville, my Grandma lived down the road from there before she died and this brought back memories. Thanks. 🙏
I’ve made the point on charity shops and eBay, it extracts wealth/assets/money whatever term you use for the local area and ultimately makes an area poorer

Very nice mate. Glad you are loving LOS. As a Castlevania nut, i always thought it was unfairly dissed and criminally underrated. Great addition to the canon 💪 Some lovely shops there that junk shop looked like it had some great stuff. Take care Callum, enjoy the rest of the weekend 🤙
Yeah really enjoying it, definitely underrated, think it's just a bit slow to get going, and it does have it's flaws ..... but mostly, really solid game. Thank you my friend, ang yourself!
when pawn shops have the same game at different prices id imagine its either that one came in when the game was worth x and the other was brought in when it was worth y, or that they was accepted in by different staff members who offered different prices
Happy Sunday, Callum!!! I agree with your take on charity shops. Also very hard here in Ireland to find anything outaide of a CEX anymore. Although i managed to get Park Beyond & Immortals of Aveum for xbox and Atari Mania on switch for 22euro this week in my lical Smyths Toys (dont sleep on them if there is one near you. They tend to mark down stock to very low prices fairly frequenty)
We call them Thrift Shops here in Canada and it’s becoming common practice for many of these places to sell almost at new retail or “eBay prices”. They used to be cheap goods for people, now you should just go buy the items new at the original store because it’s only a few bucks more. And like yours, it’s all donations.
I would've grabbed that Return Fire for PS1 for £10 in Fast Cash shop. I've been after that one for a while, nice to see it in the wild. Loved playing that game as a teen especially with my mates on 2 player vs mode. Good game.
Charity shops are almost becoming too expensive to buy from. It's rare but you can still find some decent bargains but the time and effort involved outweighs the pro's IMO. They'll overprice anything video game related regardless of what it is. Most do now ebay video games also. They only ever seem to find the most miserable, blunt, unhelpful coffin dodgers as volunteers. So much for 'charity'!
I have never had much issue with the staff, they are often volunteers, giving up their time, its not even so much the pricing... its the insistence in putting the items on ebay that bemuses me, as they can charge the same price in store ...... give back to local community, and make more profit for themselves
Thanks for another wonderful Sunday blog helping me through a full day overtime shift. Had a cex hunt at a local store, one being the rarer horizon dawn playstation hits so very happy with that!
That metal sign is phenomenal 😮 watching this first thing saved me going to Coalville today 😅 and I’ve found the same with Matlock, decent for a day out but the surrounding villages are better for the hunt
Road Trip Adventure is fantastic! Going to start colecting for Xbox 360 soon myself it will be the first console I start collecting for. Love a Ghetto Vlog Sunday!
My local charity shop is like this, I always wondered why I never see any retro until I scanned local stuff on ebay and it popped up, I even asked the guy inside whenever you get some stuff let me know and I’ll come buy it and he’s like NO! EBAY! 🤦🏻♂️
A friend recommended to me your channel, love the charisma and energy 👍 I've had a situation in Charity today and found Zelda OC for 3DS in the game section "All console games £1 each". I've taken three PC classics too and the cashier had to ask the floor staff are PC £1 each as well and also the Nintendo game. A guy on the floor asked: what's the Nintendo game, she said Zelda and he straight, no, it shouldn't be out on the shelf. They didn't sell it to me. Another situation a few weeks before in the same shop I've witnessed women donating a bag of CDs and one floor staff said to another when she left to put it aside "I wanna have a look first". Double standards nowadays in charities.
Wow a lot of gifts! Yeah I completely agree about charity shops. They do get the stuff for free but nowadays they're so unbelievably greedy in my opinion. My local oxfam book shop which I buy cds, books and dvds from every now and again said all the games go straight to ebay now which I think is sad. They also say their prices aren't overly high on some stuff but I know they are
i want to say something you have inspired me not only for going hunting video games but also inspired me to start collecting anime figures got 3 this week 2 on way 1 already arrived im delighted to have thankyou

working retail i get it can be annoying answering the same question all day but you just have to remember, it may be the 100th time youve answered the question but its the first time the customer asked
The most important aspect of Charity is to raise money for that particular charity and whatever they sell is 100% profit. No charity shop is ever bare, they all got stacks in the backroom which is not getting the chance to be purchased. In relation to games, they should just display them a fracture under CEX. £5 game CEX -£3.50, £3-£2 etc they will get snapped up, stock moves on, charity gets money. I just think at the minute the mind set is game hunters are scowled upon the ideology is that we’re out to exploit the shops. We are customers with cash and the end of the day the charity gets supported if the stuff moves. Not all shops are like that but think it is majority.
But if they receive the price they listed things at, what difference does it make to them who ultimately buys the goods? If they sell via eBay, they are losing money to Ebay, denying the local community the chance to purchase, and potentially encouraging more people to shop online as opposed to visiting stores in person
@@RetroGhetto the games would never hit the floor anyway with your pals like retro smash wanting to be the man and getting them to phone him to buy them all first
Mate completely agree with u on the ebay charity shop thing. I volunteer at a charity shop and that is the policy too, they used to put out dvds other games, now they just bin dvds and non retro games, and put retro on ebay. Its really sad. And yeah I think ultimately bad for charity shops.

I go to charity shops all the time and had a similar issue I saw a boxed GameCube in the back asked about it and they said it had to be tested so come back tomorrow, so I did went back spoke the manager and she said it had to go on eBay, I said I’ll pay you 15% on top of the last sold listing as you’ll probably lose that to eBay fees but she told me that as it’s charity they don’t get charged fees and walked away empty handed, I do wonder like you said how much of what they make actually goes to charity
All the charity shops have a policy now to stick retro games on eBay sadly, eBay has loads of charity shop accounts from the big ones with retro games. Its where that super rare Hulk Xbox was listed and there was a sealed copy of Halo 2 limited edition there too.
I gotta go out of town to find games . Goodwill will only sell online and shipping prices are more then the item you buy . It's crazy . It's sad how bad thrift stores have gotten . We have Ruidoso NM on fire 🔥 and nobody from goodwill to help them .
Have to agree with you on the issue of charity shops selling on ebay, with the way things are, games like that would fly off the shelf in no time, so why go the ebay route which incur fees to ebay and posting (which potentially brings its own issues with returns etc).
Heya bud, just to comment on the ebay SNES thing I worked in BHF in the past, and for us and i assume many other charities is they have ebay targets that they are supposed to meet, which i think is nonsense but still exists Because of this things get thrown on ebay to try and meet these targets but quite often most things dont sell, video games however are almost always a guaranteed sale and as such are priority for ebay items
What really gets me is that these charity shops list them on eBay for full working pre owned price, if not more and they don’t test them or anything. No one’s taking the risk, they also tend to just throw retro out, I know a friend who does scrapping and he found boxes of N64 games they just threw out in a bin. In my opinion there’s no charity in it anymore, like you said, it’s the higher ups who benefit from it and the ludicrous prices. I only support local bric-n-brac shops now because they don’t rob you and sell it to you as it is. I’ve gone completely off them and carboots, it’s nothing like it used to be. Unfortunately they’ll continue to do this, I know a few charity shops that’s had the same things stocked and they throw stuff out or don’t accept it because of the stock levels, the whole reason people go to charity shops is because we don’t have a lot of money and it goes to good causes, there’s none of that now, I got a simple black T-shirt the other day for £2.50, every other charity I’d been to wanted £6.50, if I wanted to pay that price I’d go to primark for a receipt and warranty… British heart foundation is the worst for it, every game they get goes online regardless, and don’t get me started on the furniture stores they have, they may as well shank you by the doors and take your wallets.
I don’t know who’s been telling you alone in the dark is a good game but they clearly don’t have your best interests in mind. At its best it’s one of those funny bad games
Just found your channel. Really good content. Given you a sub. On the eBay thing. Most charities that have eBay stores give their stores a sales target to hit. So when something comes in like that they’ll send it to eBay as it will help them hit targets. It’s annoying but understandable.
Regarding your discussion about the state of charity shops, I've heard stories of the people who run them keeping most of the good games and collectibles for themselves to be sold privately... it's a dirty business unfortunately mate and a lot of sneaky people are profiting from well meaning donations from the public.
The charity shop near me children's society take all the games they get in to CEX and get peanuts for them and refuse to sell any in the shop, it's mental, I would like to think when I have donated games that some kid who's parents don't have much have been able to find them cheap in the charity shops, it's a sad why to run a business.
I work in a charity shop and we do get pressured to send anything gaming related to ebay(obviously the abruptness from this individual isn't acceptable) we get given a set ebay budget to make every week and this infuriates me as what happens is you get pressured to put things on that could make more money online. Unfortunately video games are an easy target, I hate this policy as you are just taking out of the local area.
In the US goodwills which i think is what you guys would consider to be "charity shops" we dont call them that but they get stuff donated and sell it but there prices on games are outrageous now a days. Hi, this is a weird one but do you work at Birmingham Airport? My wife swore it was you but I didn't think so. I know this is crazy but my wife won't stop mentioning it every time she sees your videos come up on the TV. Settle this once and for all please 😂
Callum I'm with you all the way concerning 'charity' shops dreadful how they carry on in this day & age they are no different than any other high street business you find that very little of the profit they make goes to the charity most of it to the managers/ CEO s the staff serving are voluntary so they don't have to pay them cheap labour the shop managers got targets to meet set by head office & on top of that they get their stock for free they get away with it because a lot of people still think that 'charity' shops are charity shops like in the olden days
I agree but i suppose at least if the charity shop wants eBay prices then they actually put it on ebay 😂 cant stand a chairty shop in a small town and its only that town they can sell to and they think they can get the ebay rate for things despite the fact eBay is to the whole of the uk! What also baffles me is these big charity shops dont list from yhat store so they pay postage to send it to another central location 🤦🏼♂️
yeah boy. used to riding the a6 thru matty and matty bath on the hyabusa when its busy on sunday with bikes. Crit hit seems funko heavy currently. Hope it picks up on the retro front. A new car boot 1 mile from me at Smalley cross on sundays. was busy as i drove passed this morning. Shout to all viewers, likers, GG members.
Crackin Video as always. I’m very much with you on the charity shop front. It’s shortsighted to automatically put something aside for E-Bay when it could be instantly sold on the shop floor. It’s less worth for the staff. It’s more money for the shop. (have you seen shop rates at the moment) Surly the better option would be to put it on the shop Floor & list it on E-bay? (I appreciate that might also make more work for the staff) But to put & out refuse sale of it seems stupid. Anyway enough ranting. Question, Have you been to Kenny’s Buy Sell Trade in Sheffield? It’s a bit further north than you seem to normally travel but worth a visit. Crackin video fella :-D

in this day & age
they are no different than any other high street business
you find that very little of the profit they make goes to the charity most of it to the managers/ CEO s
the staff serving are voluntary so they don't have to pay them cheap labour
the shop managers got targets to meet set by head office
& on top of that they get their stock for free
they get away with it because a lot of people still think that 'charity' shops are charity shops like in the olden days

Hi Calum do you know of any websites that sell Xbox 360 manuals other than eBay?
Thanks 😊
No mate, maybe vinted or independent gaming shops?
Ok thanks
Thanks mate!
Crackin Video as always.
I’m very much with you on the charity shop front. It’s shortsighted to automatically put something aside for E-Bay when it could be instantly sold on the shop floor. It’s less worth for the staff. It’s more money for the shop. (have you seen shop rates at the moment)
Surly the better option would be to put it on the shop
Floor & list it on E-bay?
(I appreciate that might also make more work for the staff)
But to put & out refuse sale of it seems stupid.
Anyway enough ranting.
Question,
Have you been to Kenny’s Buy Sell Trade in Sheffield?
It’s a bit further north than you seem to normally travel but worth a visit.
Crackin video fella :-D
There’s a lot of great songs on that Tupac album 👍
👏 you should just have floor to ceiling shelfs get rid of the bookcases.
Black Rob - Life Story
Is a great album.
Can I live (feat. Lox) is my favourite tune..
Hi Callum, which editing software do you use.
Привет. Как много ты играешь, проходишь игры? Или просто собираешь игры в коллекцию?
