Awesome idea man. Totally worth for a long road trip. Best part is that entire setup is modular and can be removed out of car with no car modification at all.
Excellent work. I also have a harrier and need to make similar set up. Can I get dimensions and other details for set up to make life easier. Also would like to know awning set up especially those telescopic poles.
Just few minutes ago I saw your number of subscribers. And it was 999. And now 1K. Congratulation for your first 1K subscribers. And waiting for that day when you will reach 1M. Coz u promised to give away your 90D to me. And I am eagerly waiting for that day. 😄😄😄😉
Thank you so much Bittu Manadal for supporting since the beginning. I remember my promise and will come to you personally and will surely gift you the same. Keep supporting.
@@WalkIntoTheWild from many days I was searching on TH-cam, but most I have seen people using hinges But I was looking for a similar design which you made, this type of design is easy to open and close.
@@anmol1251_wanderingsoul It is just big piece of plywood precisely cut to fit the space and then there is a smaller part which is connected with the hinge to give extra space when seats are moved ahead. If you consult a carpenter, it'll be his 15 mins work.
I really liked the concept. I also have a harrrier and I want to setup same this in mine. I've some questions on this and will be happy if you can reply with answers Can I use bed while driving? will it be confortable whle driving? what is the height of the setup in boot? How did you wraped with decathlon cycle wrap?
Happy to help. 1. You can't actually unfold the bed in my setup while driving. Because you need to shift driver seat to extreme ahead. 2. It's around 1 feet I guess. 3. If you have harrier, you can use the permanent metal part below the boot mat and back seat for tying any strong rope, so the setup doesn't move.
Thank you. I used 3Ds Max for the same and it is a paid, complex and professional software. You actually don't need to create 3d now, as there are n number of TH-camrs has done these kind of modifications. You can simply choose anyone's design and try to replicate it. Take help from local carpenter. All the best!
I am sorry but I don't remember it now. We did tweak the sizes while building and did not document it. If you are in Delhi, feel free to meet and check out my setup if possible. Kitchen box measurements depends on multiple things. Or you can simply take help of a professional carpenter and show this video. I am sure he'll be able to make a better one than this one.
Kudos to you both. Lucky that you have such like minded brother in law. Also a great workable design by all means. Can you share your design? I understand its your IPR and you must have worked your ass off to conceptualise it, however i too own a harrier automatic, i feel i m grossly underutilising it , i am in central govt service and can manage a few hours on weekends for sure. If i can make it myself that would be the real fun and satisfying job. So just for my own consumption can you please share rough dimensions and costing of the thing ?
Thank you Akshay for all your kind words. Really means a lot. There were lot of calculations before building it and changed a lot while building, depending upon the challenges. We haven't noted all the calculation, as our mindset was to make it fit well as per my need and work accordingly. I can however give you an idea about major measurements. 1. Length of the bed was 6ft. Note that end of the boot is curve, so the length will not be even from corners. 2. We took 10-11 Inch height from the base for drawers including Ply. Note that boot of Harrier is little slant, so there will be 1-1.5 inch height difference from end to outside. 3. Even though the boot is slant, make the drawer straight and do consider the boot mat height too. 4. Bed calculation might be around 28x28x16 around. Where 16 is the fold-able part. Please remember, while making you will go though lot of small adjustments and fixes. So there might not be a fixed template. Also, it depends on your requirement of drawers and bed. Awesome setup! What did it all cost?
Thank you. Since the labour was ours, the cost of stuff used was around 15-20k I guess.
