This is the thing that will make my decision easier. We prefer homecanned meats, and I own 2 dehydrators. Eggs are the only thing that I buy freeze dried. I just assumed dehydrated eggs would be inferior to the freeze dried. That's what I get for assuming! 🤣 a freeze drier is no longer a lingering wish! Thanks Heidi! You are the bomb! 💗
I had assumed the same thing. I was so unimpressed with those Honeyville eggs that I had assumed these would be the same. Nope, these are way better. Not sure if it is because they use additive in their eggs to prevent clumping, or what it is but the quality of my own was far superior. Now it is the test of time and really, if they only hold their quality for 3 months, that would still be sufficient.
@@RainCountryHomestead I'm new to pressure canning, but my take on storing dry egg would be to pull a HARD vacuum on the container. When I was a kid (60+ years ago) we would toss a lighted match into an opened jar of salmon eggs (fish bait) before slamming the lid on. Supposedly, the burning match used up all the oxygen and kept the remaining eggs fresh. Hey, it absolutely works for that purpose. Do you think it would be the same for powdered egg?

What i do is scramble 2 eggs at a time and place them in silicone muffin cups then put them in them freezer. When frozen transfer into a freezer bag and freeze i believe good for 1 year or more. I have been using this for a while now and it works for me. By the way i love watching you and think you are helping people with your channel tremendously. God bless.

Thank you. I was thinking I could use parchment paper on my Excal' dehyd'r trays but I didn't think of folding the edges up, thanks. Also, the sifting out lumps is a good idea, too.

My budget couldn’t afford a freeze dryer so I went with a dehydrator via QVC because they have an affordable pay plan. I love my dehydrator! Dehydrating canned beans and frozen vegetables which are organic so I can make meals in a jar! Thank you and god bless!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. ❤ I have been overwhelmed by all the eggs I've been getting. I can't give them away fast enough. I don't want to spend money for a expensive machine and I don't want to try lime. I have a dehydrator. This just put a smile on my face.
In January, I dehydrated 8 lbs of ginger I grew, then powdered in my spice grinder. Used it yesterday on a Spicy Asian eggplant dish I made with my homegrown eggplants. Outstanding GINGER flavor!
Heidi, thank you very much for this very interesting video. Regarding ginger, when used with the skin on the taste is much stronger, but some people might like that. It is a perfect idea to freeze ginger and to dehydrate eggs. I have to try it out.
From Linda...yes, dehydrating is the best way to go. Have owned a dehydrator for many years and love it. Thank you for the idea of powered eggs..will try. God bless.
Thanks for this. I've frozen extra eggs before but never needed to use them before they got dried out or freezer burned. My chickens keep laying all year. I ended up feeding the frozen ones back to the chickens. My current flock is getting older and less productive. Until I get some replacements going, I'd love to have 2-3 jars of dehydrated eggs on hand.
Yep I freeze ginger and grate it without peeling too. Nice silicone bags! I keep debating on getting some. Don’t forget to plant a finger of ginger. Grow it inside over the winter in a pot. I did that with Turmeric last year and had three nice plants coming up. Hope somebody is enjoying them. Left them behind in California.
Wow. I didn't know that you can dehydrate eggs. I will be doing that. I get a lot of eggs. Thank you so much. This will help me through the winter. God Bless. Cathy ❤️

Hi! Loved this very informative video. Will try to do the eggs. I also take the opportunity to thank you for making sure my vacuum chamber made it all the way to Scotland. And it is working beautifully! I’m so, so happy to be able to vacuum seal my twist top jars. Thousand thanks! 🤗
My best friend is from Sri Lanka. He said his mom never peeled ginger. So, I stopped. Has made no difference in my recipes and, who knows, maybe there are some good nutrients and fiber in those skins! Also, after 3rd try, I finally got some to sprout. Fingers crossed on getting it to grow. How nice it would be to have fresh ginger at the ready any day you want some!
This video is such a blessing for us. I have 2 holes in my pantry. Eggs and cheese. I can't wait to try this in my new dehydrator. We can't have chickens here, (don't get me started on that rant!) So I will have to watch the sales, but I like the idea of not having to go to town in a snow storm just for eggs! I'll check your other videos to see what you have to say about storing cheese. Apples-I had a beautiful crop coming on my 10 year old tree, until the neighbors dead elm tree fell on it and snapped it at 3 foot high. My poor tree looks like an upside down umbrella with a broken handle! We are pruning and trimming to try to save it.
A tip I have found if you mix the eggs in a blender they get frothy and I find the bubble help them dry faster and they have a better texture and turn out more bright yellow. If I dont they turn a brownish yellow and take longer to dehydrate especially when I had a dehydrator with out adjustable temperature.
I tried that but did not find them to dry any faster and certainly were not blended any better in the end since I process them in a blender or coffee grinder anyway once dried. Here is my more recent video on these: th-cam.com/video/bgPpVJ93dCM/w-d-xo.html
I've only got one of those trays... So I'm going to do one tray and also do zucchini and mushrooms, so my dehydrator is full. Has everyone heard about Auguson Farms closing down? Everyone stay safe and God Bless you and your family from middle GA 🙏 Kendra
I've dehydrated eggs for many years. I always vacuum seal in mason jars. While Ive never had a seal break, the unfortunate thing is they only last maybe 15 months before they change color. I no longer use them at that point.
I love your channel, I've found so many helpful tips! My in-laws purchased a freeze dryer and my mother in law has been freeze drying eggs. I have 4 trays of eggs currently going in my dehydrator.
And many people do but not everyone can afford them so I am showing people that it can indeed be done without that high expense and maintenance. This egg powder is so good and has been working great in all the things I have used it in so far that I have put up two more jars since this video and will likely do more.
Never knew you could dehydrate eggs.🤔 I have those Silicone bags, I mostly keep fresh Veg in them, they stay fresh much longer than what the shops packaged them in. Thank you muchly for sharing all your great tips. Take care too everybody. ❤🙂🐶

Thanks Heidi, I loved the video, I'm going to try to do the eggs tomorrow first thing. I'm hoping to get chickens in the next few weeks as we are coming into spring season. At the moment I'm buying local eggs but we always seem to run out. Powered eggs seem the answer and great for off season too. The best other tip was the fabric in with powder as I couldn't figure out what was going on with the food saver , it had been working so well. I've just invested in a finder to make powders and had that problem. Thank you for address it. You've saved me so much time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate it. ❤️
I thought the silicon bags would be more expensive - Whole Foods has some, but they were $20 a piece! I ordered the set from Coco Stripes and am so exited that she has 3 for $21. Thanks for the coupon code!
OK, now. Heidi, please get out of my head. Dehydrating eggs is on my "to do" list this week. Not the first time this serendipity has occurred...! Thanks, ma'am.
I’m back! I dehydrated 12 duck eggs today. I used the silicone mats and it worked perfectly. I just put them in the vitamix and got a nice powder. Will do a taste test in a few days.
Just did my first batch!!!! So excited for this. I have used my Misfits ginger to regrow- it sprouts like crazy. I also just got my silicone bags yesterday. So impressed with them!
Good to know! I have still been stocking up on that fresh ginger but have not planted any yet, I keep saying I will on the next order then I end up freezing it all but now that I know it is working good for your, I will for sure do this when this latest order comes in
Have you tried candied ginger coins made with honey or agave nectar? The syrup is great for sore throats, colds ...the coins rolled in sugar or cocoa powder, can chop and add to recipes. Ginger is so enjoyable to preserve!!!
Nope, not yet but now that I have been stocking up on the fresh ginger (have my third order coming in this week) I have considered adding it to my honey infused garlic blend with the hot peppers and black seed.
Hello Heidi, I've considered dehydrating eggs for awhile, but was nervous about safety with storage. I feel much more confident after viewing this video - I trust you and your methods/experience. Safety was my concern, too. I would not leave fresh eggs out of the fridge 10 hours scrambled up), so I wondered about it being in the dehydrator that long

Game changer, love this!
Thank you, Miss.
God bless.
Thank you for this!!!!! I just found you today. You are awesome. So much to learn
Thank you ! Heidi I really trust the information that you give .
Thanks Heidi, Shalom! 💓
Thank you Heidi. A ministry of love.
That is actually my plan is to try again growing it inside.
Wow. I didn't know that you can dehydrate eggs. I will be doing that. I get a lot of eggs. Thank you so much. This will help me through the winter. God Bless. Cathy ❤️
I have a Nesco full of eggs dehydrating today. God bless you for sharing!😁
I have not tried dehydrating eggs but I think it is an excellent way to preserve your eggs and use it for many dishes😃 I will add it to my list of things to dehydrate. Thank you for the information.
Thanks for all the info and tips. I have been glassing eggs, but I am definitely going to try dehydrating as soon as my silicon mats arrived! God bless!
I have three trays of eggs in my dehydrator. Thanks so much for the encouraging video. I’ve been hesitant to try.
Perfect timing! I'm actually going to be dehydrating eggs for the first time tonight.
Thank you so much, I’m on a mission now!
Yes and we appreciate your efforts...I have learned so much valuable information from your channel...so now Im going to start dehydrating some eggs.. Thank you Heidi
Thanks Heidi. Great info this week!
Hi! Loved this very informative video. Will try to do the eggs. I also take the opportunity to thank you for making sure my vacuum chamber made it all the way to Scotland. And it is working beautifully! I’m so, so happy to be able to vacuum seal my twist top jars. Thousand thanks! 🤗
Wonderul! That makes me so happy to know it is workign well for you!
How's ur ginger growing?
@@americaneden3090 Getting tall! Thx for asking. I have some outdoors and some in a pot indoors.
Eggs are most always on sale around Easter, thanksgiving and Christmas. Especially Easter
I just found your channel!!! I am learning so much from you!!!! I just wanted you to know all of your work is greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you!
That looks wonderful. You are such a blessing. I would sprinkle those into my pot of cooking grits down south here.
I heard. So sad.
@@crazydee1955 I know right 🥺🥺
actually it is a 90 day shut down for now.
@@PlainOleChelle yeah that's what I heard
Thank you very much the dehydrating eggs info. I have an abundance of eggs. I water glasses 100 eggs, so I’ll give dehydrating eggs a try.
I have a freeze dyer so I freeze dry mine and it works great I love my freeze dryer. I have a dehydrated as well and love it as well.
And many people do but not everyone can afford them so I am showing people that it can indeed be done without that high expense and maintenance. This egg powder is so good and has been working great in all the things I have used it in so far that I have put up two more jars since this video and will likely do more.
Never knew you could dehydrate eggs.🤔
I have those Silicone bags, I mostly keep fresh Veg in them, they stay fresh much longer than what the shops packaged them in.
Thank you muchly for sharing all your great tips.
Take care too everybody. ❤🙂🐶
I have Graves Disease, thyroid issue, thinning hair, eye lashes & brows, I’ll be trying your hair grow oil, looking forward to giving it a try, thank you
I love the cleaning powder! I put it in with about a quarter cup of white vinegar. Clean and fresh smelling clothes!
It’s good in dumplings to
Just to let you know...I had somehow been...unsubscribed...I subscribed again...great video...thanks...
Haha! Glad we thought of this at the same time then! :D
I’m back! I dehydrated 12 duck eggs today. I used the silicone mats and it worked perfectly. I just put them in the vitamix and got a nice powder. Will do a taste test in a few days.
Just got my silicone mats in yesterday (finally got around to hunting some up!) and used a couple of them already and am very pleased!
Much thanks. You are such a blessing to me. Milk and egg storage has been heavily on my mind❤️
Have you made powdered milk to store?
Thank you! Excited to try it.
I have just recently made pasta for the first time, the wider noodles turned out great, then I tried making butternut squash ravioli (butternut squash from the garden!) and while it tasted really good, that pasta was a bit tough....so I'm looking forward to learning pasta making with dehydrated eggs from you! Thank you for all you share with us....God IS good...ALL the time! Gail ~ NH
Safety was my concern, too. I would not leave fresh eggs out of the fridge 10 hours scrambled up), so I wondered about it being in the dehydrator that long
Amen to that!!!
I just used mine yesterday and added dried green onions while hydrating then while cooking I added a slice of cheese. It was really good 👍🏻
I did something similar for Patrick yesterday morning. :)
Thank you Heidi. Im definetly wanting to dehydrate eggs!
I’m currently waiting for some jumbo quail eggs to come in to start a flock. I am going to use this method to put back the extra eggs when they start producing . Thank you for your content.
I ate the scrambled eggs from it and it was wonderful to me
Heidi
You may have created a monster here. I broke down and asked my wife to order me two (wide and reg mouth) canning jars vacuum sealer tops. Keeping my fingers crossed that I do not make a mess.
I'm glad I looked at this. I thought the only way to was to freeze dry. I can't afford a freeze dryer and I can't stand buying powdered eggs. It's expensive this is definitely and cheaper way and you get to see all that's in it.
Well done Heidi, hang in there Sis!😊😊😊
Love ya sister! Great video again!
Thank you!!
Yeah, "teach"....I have learned a lot from you...eggs, for sure! :) I've been doing this now since I watched you, my dear....you're an amazing woman of God! Thanks "sis"! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Thank you for doing this. I love how you tried it different things. Going to have to try this! 🥚 I bought some of the ginger from misfits too. I’ll have to get some more next week if they have it. I have been using it to make ginger ale. Yummy!
I’m definitely going to try this! I have to dehydrate, can or freeze. The freeze dryers are definitely out of my budget. Not sure I would spend that much if I could.
Great info
I have hair, the egg dehyidrating information is great. I have the same model dehydrator, among 4,
