Finally we got to hear how this song and its manificient solo goes till the end. In the album Hello it faded away. And this is a masterclass example how a rhythmguitar and a sologuitar work together and the engine room (bass and drums) makes a solid living fundament. My all time favorite Quo song.
FFS Quo killing it like the old days. How anyone can say the post 1980 stuff is better is beyond me. No one could live with the Frantic Four from 1970 to 78. So glad they saw sense and did the reunion tours - got to take my boy to see the best live band that ever took to a stage.
I was lucky enough to see them in the late 70's and they were phenomenal live. Totally kicking asses here also. RIP Alan and Rick. In their prime they were peerless.
In my humble opinion this is the finest rock and roll song I have ever heard live. Four old- timers showing how to do it. Perfection! Thank God Rick was still here to really enhance it.
I can't get enough of that sweet spot at 2:23 when the band explodes from the song structure into the solo and you can hear them all going hell for leather. The mighty Quo at their most breathtaking. This guitar solo alone puts Rossi up there with the greatest. Sublime!
Stunning live version of a classic QUO song. By far the best ever UK rock band. The Frantic Four. The one and only true QUO line up. Period. The magic they produce(d) on stage. Nothing comes even close.
I was at one of the reunion concerts in 2013 in Manchester and again the following year and also the final one in Dublin in 2014. They were ferocious - and fantastic. By far their best line up and one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
It doesn’t get better than that. Quo, the proper Quo, clicked spectacularly in that performance, producing the most splendid sound that modern Quo cannot come close to. Music is about soul, feeling. This is demonstrated quite clearly here. This is the Status Quo that are nigh on untouchable when live.
in all of its orchestration and manifestation, this performance is absolutely the most beautiful declaration of rock and roll, that there has ever been, and will ever be. these guys are a part of my soul. amen. (forever 2017)
Not many bands could do this type of rock n roll ...they are a well oiled machine who never never fail to impress me they gave been in my blood since 1974
Truly Truly blessed to be a old school Quo fan and then to hear this song done again by the same band members of old, all i can say is, THANK YOU STATUS QUO, From me to you guys, you are and always will be the Greatest rock band in the world. Chook.
NOTHING BEATS THE ORIGINAL QUO THE SONGS WERE GREAT THE GUITAR DRUMS BASS EVERYTHING WERE SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT LOVE THE OLD STATUS QUO R.I.P RICK MY FRIEND AND ALAN YOU MADE THE QUO.
I must say, they do tighten up as they go. Great performance. My fave part is where Alan is watching Francis playing his Lead part. Awesome. Fave member has always been NUFF, do I need to explain why? I think it is obvious to a blind Bat. RIP Alan you were the Backbone of the Band.
Now this is how rock'n'roll should be played. No frills, just a tight driving backbeat and some sensational guitar work. Can someone please show this to all the wannabes out there who claim they are rock??????
Absobloodylutely right. The best, tightest boogie woogie rock outfit there's ever been and the best line up too, Quo as they should be. Mr Rossi has his faults and internal feuds and politics fucked up a fantastic band which has never been surpassed but.....he is one hell of a guitar player!
saw them at brid 81/82 think it was about a £5 for ticket and bus through cavendish travel, came out of that soaked in sweat, then the demise with the crappy pop sound, began to resent rossi more after finding out he forced alan out of band, seemed like a bully rossi in collusion with rick, never been the same since frantic four mk1
Por eso STATUS QUO, es el mejor grupo de rock a nivel mundial, esas rolas tan chimgonas, los solos del maestro Francis Rossi es un deleite escucharlo y siempre con el mismo potencial
NOW THATS ROCK!!!! Wow what an electric performance the energy the drive got my heart pumping and turned it up to max inctedible!!!!!!! Quo are the rock grandfathers !!!!!
This is as pure of kickass rock as you’ll ever hear anywhere. Bang your head and enjoy. It doesn’t get any better than this. These guys are tearing it up!!!!!!
Quo są i będą w tym składzie niepowtarzalni!! Mistrzowie rock'n'rolla. RiP Alan i Rick.... Ja nadal jeszcze żyję i cieszę się z tego co stworzyliście!!!! Pozdrowienia z Polski!!!
I saw the Frantic Four reunion concert & the newer version of the band one week later, in Australia. I loved both line-ups equally. The emotion of the re-union & seeing Nuff again was wonderful. The concerts in Australia were certainly played at a more manic pace & Rhinos stagecraft is amazing. Rossi wrote most of the top ten singles, writes most of the melodies & is both a single note player & rhythm player. His voice & guitar playing is crisp & he is the identifying sound of Quo. For both lineups it very much felt like a Quo concert
seit ca 55 jahren hör ich quo und rockte sie auf mancher tanzfläche - es gibt keine größere erfüllung für mich - wird mich bis über den tod hinaus begleiten - danke jungs
July 2024,still the best badass group, pounding out those humming hypnotic bass line, their guitar riffs to die for. 50 yrs and still sound so fresh and relevant. Those guys are History.
All the great rocking artists that were around in the 1970’s made a huge impression on the world of music - Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple…..
I really recommend to listen again to the Studio Version in Hello. These Songs are so beautifully performed and arranged, it will bring you to tears, considering what happened to this great band! How I would like to hear Rick and Alan with their superband in heaven!!🙏
The total personification of Quo with all of them totally in sync and performing at their best. all of it just stressing 'this is why we are the f***** best ladies and gentlemen'. And I know because I was there to hear it :) I had seen them about 6 or 7 times in 'the old days', but this was phenomenal.
Ricky J .P. belated deepest sympathy on the loss of pa pa Ricky, I hope the twins are are coping ok as they are growing up. I was 11 years old in 1968 when I followed the quo and no other band interested me at all, I think it was ricky's shear drive and determination coming through his playing that encapsulated the sound thrown forward by quo. I was very fortunate I was a DJ in the late seventies I had a promo copy three weeks before release of what ever you want and when I played it for the first time and heard Ricky's intro I was blown away and to this day that intro always brings tears to my eyes when I ever hear it. It's just ageless, I am so so thankful I have years of happy memories of Ricky and honoured to have been able to promote qou's singles and albums up to 1980. I go to see John couglan's quo when ever I can when they are up in North Wales. Best wishes to you and the family J. P. Thoughts with you all at Christmas. Mike xx
At 2: 23 al shouts eh rossi, this song is amazing, look at parfitts guitarplaying, he beats the guitar like hell, good pumping, extra strong boogie rock, absolutely great. Long live the FF, rib al and rick
Just happy iv lived on this planet same time as the Quo to see them live countless times.
They will still be talking about the Quo in 100 years.
51 tears later. STILL my favourite Quo song, Rossi's best solo work, Nuff's booming bass, Rick in real rock mode, and Spud well away.
Brilliant solo, I keep going back just to listen to the solo!
For me too ! Great song ! So pleasant to see them again (Alan and John back). Emotion l !
The real deal not Panto Quo.
Finally we got to hear how this song and its manificient solo goes till the end. In the album Hello it faded away. And this is a masterclass example how a rhythmguitar and a sologuitar work together and the engine room (bass and drums) makes a solid living fundament. My all time favorite Quo song.

The government should pass a law saying rock stars of this calibre are forbidden to get old.
Masz racje bracie
Name me another band that are as together as this. Amazing live performance the like of which we'll never see again. Long live the real Status Quo ❤
It's not together and tight like they were before....Come on
AC/DC both great earthy bands
The glorious Blues & Rock of the 60's, 70's will NEVER be beaten for every genre of music. Those of us who lived it knew it was a special era.
The greatest 4 minutes of rock ever. Rick, we love you.
Amen.
I was lucky enough to see them in the late 70's and they were phenomenal live. Totally kicking asses here also. RIP Alan and Rick. In their prime they were peerless.
I lucky to see them play in a little village close to where I use to live. Got better and better
Oh my god... This is pure rock and roll. Rest in peace Rick Parfitt. The best ever. Thank you.
In my humble opinion this is the finest rock and roll song I have ever heard live. Four old- timers showing how to do it. Perfection! Thank God Rick was still here to really enhance it.
Stamp your feet
Rossi is the best ever
I can't get enough of that sweet spot at 2:23 when the band explodes from the song structure into the solo and you can hear them all going hell for leather. The mighty Quo at their most breathtaking. This guitar solo alone puts Rossi up there with the greatest. Sublime!
Mesmerising
It doesn't get any better than this! A lot of youngsters who think they know rock could do a lot worse than listen to the Quo.
Brilliant. Priceless. I'd never seen them perform this song live before. Absolute Rock n Roll magic forever digitally preserved.
RIP Alan and Rick will never be forgotten the real quo.
Nothing has changed! They are brilliant when together. Am glad I saw them the Frantic Four. God bless you Rick xxx
Stunning live version of a classic QUO song. By far the best ever UK rock band. The Frantic Four. The one and only true QUO line up. Period. The magic they produce(d) on stage. Nothing comes even close.
They still get my adrenaline flowing even yet watching this video. This IS QUO!
I never tire of hearing this song magically played the FF ...pure awesomeness
I was at one of the reunion concerts in 2013 in Manchester and again the following year and also the final one in Dublin in 2014. They were ferocious - and fantastic. By far their best line up and one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
Saw them Manchester 2014 - unreal, just like Deeside 1981
RIP Rick. Finest Rock Rhythm guitarist ever.
He was the best ❤
2nd best, sorry. As much as I loved Rick, Malcolm was still the best, imho!
Spot on.
Totally agree with this.
Rick, the real legend on this. Awesome rhythm guitar. RIP mate.
The sum is equal to all the parts. Rick and Alan and John back together, dreams.
This leaves me breathless every time, and I've been playing it everyday for the past 45 years, that's how good it is!
Great Susan!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸
Great Susan!!🎸🎸🎸
👑
Keep playing it lol 👍
Doesn't get better than this.... The original and definitely the best
RIP ALAN and RICK You were great
Alan’s Over and Done. Now THAT stuck in my head all these years. 63 years old now. Still play the thing even now!
Look at Rick go !!!!!!! hes a machine!!
STATUS QUO...... una azienda del rock and roll
........... ........ ............
abbraccio da Roma e buon caffè
That's the Quo like i remember, when i was young : Francis Rossi (founder), Alan Lancaster (founder), Rick Parfitt R.I.P., John Cochlan !
Coghlan
in all of its orchestration and manifestation, this performance is absolutely the most beautiful declaration of rock and roll, that there has ever been, and will ever be. these guys are a part of my soul. amen. (forever 2017)
Well said mate 👍🎸🎸
Amen. 🙏🏼
BAND - HELL YEA!!!
But fans? Dead sticks standing with cell phones... Failure to me... At least great cheer at the end...
Not many bands could do this type of rock n roll ...they are a well oiled machine who never never fail to impress me they gave been in my blood since 1974
Rick ... legend on this. RIP, and thanks for the memories.
Absolute,absolute, absolutely fantastic 😀😀😀
Between 1970- 1976, whilst all the prog rock musos were looking down their noses, the Quo were just ripping it up and us proles loved it.
Quo and hawkwind. That’s all I need. And those magic dates
Status Quo, greatest Band RIP Alan RIP Rick
Truly Truly blessed to be a old school Quo fan and then to hear this song done again by the same band members of old, all i can say is, THANK YOU STATUS QUO, From me to you guys, you are and always will be the Greatest rock band in the world. Chook.
Absolute Weltklasse diese Band. Ich bin seit 1973 ein großer Fan von SQ, auch live
It doesn't get any better than this !
Over 50 years ago this group had me. Hook line and sinker. And to think 50 years later they still had it. Here’s a thought. 50 years is half a century
Rick just fukin awesome, no one will ever play like him. RIP
Love this song, it never grows old . Frantic Four rule !
NOTHING BEATS THE ORIGINAL QUO THE SONGS WERE GREAT THE GUITAR DRUMS BASS EVERYTHING WERE SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT LOVE THE OLD STATUS QUO R.I.P RICK MY FRIEND AND ALAN YOU MADE THE QUO.
R.I.P Rick and Alan
"Will you welcome the number one rock and roll band in the land"
"To Night, live"...
Yes,I will always
Perfection. I could listen to this everyday.
Err, yeah - that's just proper rock n roll! A fantastic performance, I absolutely love this.
Just listened to it again.....the day is set!!
I want a Rick cam on this ... he absolutely nails this
I must say, they do tighten up as they go. Great performance.
My fave part is where Alan is watching Francis playing his Lead part. Awesome.
Fave member has always been NUFF, do I need to explain why?
I think it is obvious to a blind Bat.
RIP Alan you were the Backbone of the Band.
A total masterclass in tight boogie rhythm , suppose they all knew it was their last go at it together and they gave it some hammer,,,,,
Status quo past and present the boogiefyed rock and roll band ever period.
I love the performance but it's also great to see all the comments here and realise how many people just totally get how brilliant this and why.
Four old men, and nobody can do it better.
So fuckin' true !
Why couldn't you have just said four men ?
How does Alan keep up? - How does Rick hold on to the 100% correct rythem? Ans WHO really cares???
You forgot about the other old men still rocking. Think they are called "The Rolling Stones "
You're right. But in the first place I'm a Status Quo fan, although I like the Stones too.
Now this is how rock'n'roll should be played. No frills, just a tight driving backbeat and some sensational guitar work. Can someone please show this to all the wannabes out there who claim they are rock??????

A lot of Quo's greatest songs are not strictly Rock-'n'-roll . They are Boogie Woogie and none the worse for that .
@@ideyboo Boogie Woogie Rock-'n'-roll . 👍
@@bobgibb2781 never mind what kind of music you call it, but it all sounds absolutely fantastic !
