This edit is great. I saw the film at a festival and as others have said the ending is very unsatisfying. One character is basically used as a way to underscore a point in a family narrative. An of course this happens in real life but it seemed very throw away. Would have prefered a happier ending or a more realistic "messy" ending not the wishy washy one I got.

The film ends without a resolution, which sucks, but that means there is the possibility of a happy future. So one can imagine them happy together after they have figured their individual lives.
God's Own Country - with hotter guys, but a shit script. Do not waste your time on this - it is literally the same film, but without any real ending (and no, I don't mean not-happy) and various holes in the plot you could park our solar system into it (including the oort cloud).

I enjoyed God's Own Country....
To me it felt like the more interesting story line that the Brokeback Mountain movie writers could have told.
