Your content is good but going for the trends (black background) is the worst things started to happen to tutorials a couple of years ago. Tutorials should be readable (hence the word tutorial). Can you see the gray text on the black background (when showing the Notion screen)? Me neither. I have to use a magnifying glass to see what is on the screen (I don't have 20/20 eyesight). ALWAYS use white background for tutorials. Not criticism but a suggestion to help for better tutorials.
The inability to apply formula across rows / columns is a major bummer for Notion. This was a good comparison video, and yes, I agree with you, Notion is not to play with numbers, not built for that, yet.
Yes agree... I thought it would be good to share this comparison to help people understand the differences, in turn it makes Notion easier to understand overall.
After 2 weeks of bashing my head in trying to get my budget to work in Notion, thank you for this I now know to keep my finances in a spread sheet. However, this does make me think this is perfect for a fitness tracker to be honest.
Simplicity and structure are the benefits. Notion is a more streamlined ui that can do a few things really well, while excel is a bit more of a sandbox.
@@ProductiveDude not really sure if that's enough of a reason, they could easily turn their databases in a matrix indexable by strings, + use python or lua for their formulas, this would instantly increase the number of things you can do with them
Im definitely a way bigger fan of Notion, I never really liked applications from big companies like Google and Microsoft, but things like gmail I daily use

Is it possible to make nutrition/macro tracker using notion?
Thank you for the comparison. This save me plenty of time to figure it out.
Great comparison, thank you for clearing up this confusion!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Really this just helped me understand the difference between spreadsheets and databases.
Great comparison video!
This is REALLY REALLY helpful, Notion doesnt tell you this in easy words.
Best explanation. Thumbs up
Great content dude, thanks
Glad you enjoyed.
Is there any advantage to this Notion limitation? I can't see why their team would limit formulas like that, it looks like a real bummer to me

It's mainly to arrange and organize notes. I tried to create an income statement.. huge mistake! wasted like 4 hours on it
@@medschoolhub_yo bro, I'm planning to do budgeting or track my income/outcome in notion. So it's not recommended then? Better use excel/spreadsheet?
@@itsfikreeYes imo. Excel is more suited for numbers than Notion.
