People forget that in real life we also take inspiration and motivation from our friends, family, or goals/dreams. Literally, we take motivation from FICTIONAL CHARACTERS lmao so really, I think this concept is PRETTY realistic XD

So in a way, it's Lucy's weird imagination is at fault on why Sagittarius looks like a scam. If you find out the alternative look of Sagittarius, you'll definitely say it's not a scam. DEFFO NOT
Honestly, the destruction of the guild hall always hits me hard. Because to some people, it might be "just a building" but to the members, it's actually their home. Like, they spend all their time there. Since they were kids. Not to mention that the majority of the FT members are/were orphans when they joined so really this is like their real home and FT is their family. If I'm not mistaken, there are actual sleeping quarters at the guild where some members can live if they absolutely cannot afford living on their own or paying rent, etc. And it's just so sad watching your home, where you built all your memories in, being destroyed right in front of your eyes. For a light-hearted anime, FT can bring you to tears on more than one occasion haha

The word you were looking for for Gajeel is sadistic. That he tortured Lucy had nothing to do with her gender. He did it for entertainment and she 'just' happened to be the only convenient target in easy reach right then. Keep in mind that Natsu was already severely roughed up, exhausted and had part of his magic drained by Aria and he still came out even with the well rested and uninjured Gajeel before the latter ate some of his own element. So yeah, Natsu was stronger than Gajeel from the very start and Gajeel only ever managed to temporarily gain the upper hand because of circumstances. This L-finger thing is... odd. I won't go into too many details, since it's from a future part of the story (two arcs down the line I think), but I'll say this much: In the manga it originated as a sign between two specific people and it makes sense why it's an L specifically there. But for some unfathomable reason the anime production team just didn't get that and mistook the L as a sign for the Fairy Tail guild as a whole and thus used it other places too, where the manga didn't show it... like this episode. Also the flashback montage in the manga was just a single page and didn't even include any frame with Lisanna to begin with...

I only knew what is said in the anime, not having the passion to read manga, (or books in general! 🙄😂), but it is interesting to find out what they have changed between manga and anime ... anime makes more sense that it has become the symbolic gesture in the guild rather than a sign made between just two guild members ...

I think it makes more sense in the manga, especially considering the timing, but I feel I'm sliding too close to outright spoiler territory, so I'll leave it at that until it comes around.
The hand sign has a lot of meaning. It's basically Fairy Tails salute but also way more than that. You will learn about that soon enough 😁 And you whould be very surprised to learn who invented it^^
man i love fairy tail. they dont have flashbacks for power ups they do them so you can connect with the character. which is what they are meant to be for. fairy tail has no power of friendship. yes it helps them cuz magic is based off emotion and love is the strongest emotion which is why fairy tail always wins. but its never the real deciding factor. its either a plan teamwork or external factor like sagitarius blowing up the machine for natsu to eat fire.

He isn't weak in the slightest, but Aria is definitely stronger than he is, Jose probably says that to fuel Gajeel's ego as a way to give him more confidence and have him perform better, since Aria didn't really seem like the type who'd care about being called strongest or not, it makes a lot of sense. Gajeel is probably the second place with Juvia being a close 3rd (though she'd win if they fought since he only uses physical attacks, but that's just a match up issue, Gajeel is still probably stronger)

In the manga the fight has a lot of blood and when he deflects the iron roar he actually turns it against Gajeel.
