I had an AKAI VHS Recorder from 1984 (at that Time You still had to hold VCRs with two Hands to carry them) in the Workshop. I couldn't resist testing the Calendar. Expiry Date 12/31/1999 23h5959. My Kramer FC-4000 was no good either as a TBC or as a standards converter from PAL (DVD) to SECAM
Have had mixed results with the Kramer but overall it seems to do OK. I think the Sony is fairly unique in have a Y2K and beyond calendar. I'll have to start test all the machine's the come through now to see if they do the same! 😊
@@MrBetaByte The three recorders have cost just about 560 dollars. In addition, there were import tax and shipping, which were together again about 700 dollars. So in total about 1300 dollars
Very interesting machine, thanks a lot for showing its impressive features! :)
Really a great piece of kit and just had to share how amazing it really is.
@@MrBetaByte Yes and that for its age! 🙂

They are truly amazing machines - you're very lucky to have two of them.
@@MrBetaByte t was also not cheap to import the two SL-HF3000 and my EDBETA EDV-7000 from Japan
@@Betafreak_GE I bet it wasn't. How much did it cost you in total for the three machines?
