You can pickle galvanized metal with Vinagar or Galvaprep before painting and it will last a lot longer, and muriatic acid works very well for cleaning off rust...

I'm way late to the NNNH party but thanks for all the laughs!!!! I totally needed this. As a life long restorer and tinkerer its great to see you youngins learning the hard way - not from YT! I was commenting out loud in part 1 about the prop pitch and direction, then spit my lunch out over the vinegar and salt making HCl comment - totally ruined Fish and chips for me. The gold paint and buff was the capper! Almost looks like 4 grand now! Loved every minute of this - you're like a modern day Red Green! It's only temporary - unless it works!

Hey Chris! She is coming along real good. I am surprised that the porcelain center did not blow out of the spark plugs and that was an interesting display of the good plug compared to a misfiring plug. And yes good call on replacing the radiator, I was wondering how badly the inside of the cores were plugged. I am looking forward to see this out on the water. Thumbs UP man ! 👍

Awesome work! my dad and grandfather both have 1954 Cadillacs both needing restoration I started watching your channel about three months ago because I love getting old stuff running as well! Your bass dumpster inspired me to drive out to Nevada from Cali with my gramps to pick up a pos free boat and today with the help of my old man we got the omc 351 Windsor fired up! It’s an awesome feeling, this week I’ll be rebuilding the carb to see if I can get the secondaries moving , trying to fix the cracked exhaust manifolds and depending on how far I get I might even toss some wood over the rotten floor fun time!! Nnkh for the win!!!

Great progress. Can't wait to see what kind of trouble you get into when you get this thing in the water! I was SO relieved when you took the prop to a shop for machining. I didn't want to see you guys turned into smoothies when the out-of-balance prop came off. Then you dropped the bomb about the pitch. Who knew? Not me... I respect that you left that part in the vid. Love your stuff.

I know I'm late, your videos are so down to earth and captivating I'll comment all the same.
After watching the 1st video in this series and watching you guys breathe air into that beat up Caddy motor, I had to check out the next 2,
Catching that blade angle on your prop was very clever. I hadn't thought of that either.
I'm on to your next video of the series, part 3. I'm confident enough to predict it'll be awesome!
