Hey! Thanks for checking out my map.
I would have loved to include more features, but I ran out of time during the competition. I did think about adding the gun for battling the Combine, as you mentioned, but Portal 2’s binaries doesn’t support the required weapon and NPC code. What you saw was a workaround due to these limitations. I'm pleasantly surprised nothing broke, considering I felt the map was still quite unfinished.

As I recall, it works by overriding a special weapon with the SMG model from Half Life 2. Portal 2 stripped out all of the weapons, naturally, only leaving "weapon_portalgun" and "weapon_cubemap", a developer tool used to test reflections. By swapping the model, it'll always appear correctly in the player's hands as opposed to some other methods to attach things to the player camera. The actual weapon behavior of firing bullets had to be remade with map logic though

Hey Ngeruma, I've gotta ask, has anyone recommended you play Portal 1's ERROR before? It's a completely different take on the game. A bit more unsettling version to be honest.
