    Kinda old but loved the video. I usually do double glove while lathering up and prepping my meats and just slide it off when I need a clean hand for seasoning

    Just bought 7, 20lbs bags of these at Kroger. Normally $18.99. Found them in clearance for $4.19 per bag. Got them all. Never used them, thanks for the review!

    Great tip on cooking on the upper level.
    I just found these charcoal pellets at my local store. Sure like the lack of dust in the bag.

    I'm going to give these a shot. I have Pit Boss 1600 and I have been very disappointed in the unsmokey taste in my cooks. I knew it wouldn't be the same as my stick burns but I didn't think it would be like cooking in an oven taste either. I've tried smoke tubes and everything. Maybe my grill is too big....I don't know. Anyway thanks for the video and I will be giving these charcoal pellets a try!

    • @Reignunlimited
      @Reignunlimited ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must be doing something wrong. I have a little Table top Pit Boss and that thing puts out so much smoke fire trucks come running. My ribs and pork butts have smoke rings you wouldn’t believe, I’ve been using Camp Chef flavored wood, but gonna give Charcoal pellets a shot for hot dogs, burgers, and steaks. Remember wood is for long smoking cooks like brisket. Charcoal is for short cooks like this. I might even mix the wood and charcoal for best of both.

    • @demondmccray8582
      @demondmccray8582 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Company Owner I'm not doing anything wrong....they aren't stick burners.....It's simply not the same combustion.....Maybe your table top allows you to have more of a smokey flavor....I have a huge Pitboss 1600 house oven pretty much.

      @demondmccray8582 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UplandPiper I've done that along with trying different pellets and everything under the sun. The pellet grill combustion isn't enough. It's currently not being used because I went out and bought a real smoker

    I used them to cook a couple ribeye steaks yesterday.
    Did reverse sear method cooking them on the indirect side until 120 degrees.
    Then took off. Dried them and seared them on my EVO flattop grill to internal of 132 for an amazing crust.
    Things I noticed.
    Fed my smoker great
    Burned nice with a blueish smoke.
    Meat looked mahogany so I suspect you’d get good smoke rings with this stuff.
    Meat had an obvious charcoal taste but not as strong as over lump charcoal since I wasn’t vaporizing the drippings. But the taste is definitely there.
    Next time I’ll mix with some wood pellets to see how I like that.

    • @RFBSmokehouse
      @RFBSmokehouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! Yeah, they don't have all of the flavor of lump or brickets, but enough to make a difference. And they mix with regular pellets. I like to mix them with Bear Mountain Gourmet Blend.

    • @jeffhood4680
      @jeffhood4680 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I bought some bear Mountain at the same time. Got 3 different flavors so looking forward to experimenting. My local tractor Supply carries both.

      I haven't honestly used my pellet grill very much lately. Mostly my offsets lately, but I still stand behind it. They have a great flavor and mix well with other types. I do wish the price point was lower though.
