Here's my theory as to what this video's all about... There is an artist who works for a video game company that makes rhythm games. One day, her boss comes to her and says: "Hey, the guys in the music department made this awesome and extremely epic-sounding song for our next game. We need you to draw up a bunch of pictures with cool-looking characters and put them all in random, dramatic situations that suggest some larger story in order to make the tone feel more epic. Don't worry, they don't really _need_ to have a story, just draw whatever comes into your head!" So, she takes her pen to paper, and does exactly that. There you go! The story of Xepher! =P

I am very late with this comment, but I guess I'll give my interpretation/story. I read the little manga in the artbook through a translation on Deviantart, so that's also where I got the names. The five main characters live in another dimension or at least place, like the sky. Of the world, there is a queen, who is Eculmess (The blond chick) at the time, but as she begins to become more incompetent at her own job of protecting Earth or even her own world due to becoming weak, she decides to disappear as if she died to force another queen to be found. Her knight, Orologio, was struck by surprise and refused to believe Eculmess was dead. As he did every day, he would deliver flowers to her, even when she wasn't there. Because there was no queen, Licht, a powerful mage, was forced to find the next successor of royal blood, Rursus (Little blue hair). He (Yes, he the pink hair) would take along his own knight, Killer. Why he is called Killer? I'll just say murdered others in his past and gave himself that name after he forgot his own. His own name would remind him of his sins. They do eventually find Rursus, but Orologio is furious when they bring her back to replace his queen and the one he loves. He keeps trying to convince them that Eculmess is still somehow alive, especially since Rursus did not gain her power as a result of Eculmess dying. Orologio forces Killer into a duel, almost leading to Killer dying if it wasn't for Rursus's intervention, causing her severe injuries. Eculmess then comes out of hiding and heals Rursus. She decides to tell them the truth amd give proper goodbyes, especially to Orologio. To grant Rursus her powers as queen, Eculmess had to have been already dead and be on earth, and so she asks Orologio to kill her himself. This is because the rule of that world is that when the queen dies, whoever as the purest royal blood gains the power as a result. Orologio hesitantly does so, crying as he swings his sword through her. Eculmess's wish was fulfilled and Rursus becomes queen.
Interesting how some people would make the main character the red fellow, while others insist on the blue guy. In any case here's my take on the plot: Part 1 Two witches (or goddesses) in an eternal struggle to defeat one another have realized that there is only time for one last battle before the end of time. Despairing at their fates at the same time, they summon, champions, unknown variables (Two Xs if you will) borne of their curses. These champions brought to this eclipsing world by curses, become the weapons known as Xephers.
Part 2 However, their desperate struggle has unforeseen consequences; instead of two, three Xephers are born. The red champion is summoned by feelings of Expense, Punishment, HocusPocus, Ecstasy, and Reality. The blue champion is borne from feelings of Everlasting, Pain, Horrible, Evening, and Recurrence. However, unbeknownst to the two witches their curses also gave birth to the third Xepher. The third was borne from feelings of End, Prayer, Hesitation, Existence, and Regret. The third Xepher might be able to save this world, but which of the two Xephers will listen?
+aroukar47 It actually does have a solid ending. Eculemess (the current ruler) passes on her crown to Rursus (the young girl) and then dies. The earth had been destroyed and isn't fit for living anymore. The story says Rursus should be able to bring life back to the earth.

He owns a real katana, and carries it around in public to dissuade people from talking to him. One day, he sees a girl with blue hair and strange clothes that nobody else can see. She says some strange things that provoke him into a fight, but when his katana touches her, it breaks in two. She touches his chest and then leaves. On the surface, he's no different, but he knows that something is wrong with him, and nobody can detect its cause. Another girl from that world (with the blue and blonde hair) appears, and tells him that the first girl used his hatred to poison him. She gives him only a few days to live unless he comes with her to the other world, where time works differently and he might live long enough to find a cure. She also gives him a new sword, on the condition that he only use it in service of 'the light'. With the forces of the first girl, that world's ruler, opposing him, he spends most of his time fighting for his life while searching for the cure, slowly learning about the world and 'the light' from his companion. But with his uncontrolled hatred burning up his body and a doppelganger in blue hounding him constantly, it may be impossible to survive long enough...

His alter ego grows so powerful, that he turns the people who once bowed to the MC, into a powerful poison that is used against him. An angel then saves him by sucking the poison out of him, so the MC goes on a rampage against his alter ego. The MC soon unlocks the power that was sealed inside of him, learning that he is the reincarnation of the most powerful swordsman and lives to tell the tale.

Mama died, but her evil sister is there trying to take over the world, but papa has plans of his own, not good nor of evil... lets make it even more twisty: After having baby with lady they ended up loving eachother, unbeknownst to red, red turns evil, referencing the battlefield of which the guy in red is now grinning evilly at the battlefield of ravaged war, due to figuring this out, all the while blue became a good man and wishes to help save the world. What looks to be an evil plan to take over the world, Blue working with the sorcerer with pink hair, and the witch with blue hair to steal the daughter's omnipotent power was all to prevent a calamity from happening by sealing her away, and the daughter, while distraught over this, agrees to it. Red interferes "saving" the daughter only for her to end up being corrputed by her own power, and turn into the more sinister looking character we see at the start of the PV with a red blade
