I love this! I had been thinking about doing a 5K/5K Friday one week where I wrote 5000 words and ran 3.1 miles...but now after seeing your video and Mandi Lynn's challenge, I think I need to upgrade it to a 10K/10K Day.

Hmmmm. I'd do the running first, and practice plotting your paragraphs while you plod along. Then when you get home and hydrated, sit and spit out the syntax. Transcribing thoughts is easier than getting them to line up like good little kittens.

I want to do one of these. I'm getting back to drafting, and the most I've written in a day was a bit over 8k in one day. I was out of the house for that amount.
I want to do it while home, with kids, hubby, and my normal chaos.

Absolutely! There’s no way I could write for 12 hours straight. I’d probably fall asleep!
My mom, back in the 70's, was a typist. Her typing rate was between 100 and 110 words a minute, depending on how much of the document was numbers and charts. Yeah, they did that by hand, one line at a time (electric typewriters could backspace/erase because they had a built in whiteout ribbon). She could type dictation as it was spoken, and backup and correct it, and keep going without losing pacing. Her comment was, "don't try to be fast, try to be smooth and fast comes automatically." She also played the piano.
Taking 100 words a minute as a professional typing number, 2,000 words is twenty minutes work. If we figure 8 cents per word, that's $160 in pocket, or $480 per hour, or. That's amazing! The oldest profession doesn't make that kind of F'ing hourly wage! That's over a million dollars a year! And you're taking time out of your busy day to show us how it's done? We are blessed!
(Admit it; you go to the coffee shop to watch people. As do I. It's nice to see normal people once in a while.)

Awesome. I wrote a 60,000 page novel in three days. I was in a group home, and they put me on prozac, which used to mess up my other meds. I was pretty much on the ceiling. I called my mother 22 times while I was writing and went on a flag spree. What's scary is that it was popular in Australia. They told me if I did that again, they'd put me in the hospital.

I missed this writing video 😥 All I can say is how do you write so many words in such a short amount of time? Even without distractions, I'm lucky if I get 1200 words in a couple of hours. Usually I average about 300 words an hour. I am so slow there is no way I can self-publish lol
I think it comes with practice honestly. There’s no way years ago I could’ve written so much. It also helps that I have a co-writer who depends on me to finish my part. If I don’t, I hold the entire process back which is stressful. You’ll get there! ❤️

Does that google sheets update by its self when people type?
Yep! You type in your word count and it updates it!
How do you manage to acuratly calculate it for that hour?

Your cat looks exactly like mine. Mine is gross….doesn’t clean herself. Barfs everywhere. Pisses on a soft towel next to the cat box that we wash every day because she’s a princess. A fluffy, gross princess.
