@@edrivesweden just look at the Brake lights @2:44 in 0.25x speed. Nothing to do with throttle lag. The lights of the Volvo are still on while model Y is already moving. As soon as the brake lights went off, the Volvo startet moving. Just a better reaction time for the Tesla.

The onboard of the EX30 makes it sound like the Volvo driver is slow. The sound of the pedal hitting the stop/floor comes way after "Go" where as it should be simultaneous. The Y is already moving before the throttle is floored in the EX30.
When will these channels realize track mode is for the track not drag racing, it literally cools the battery and motors down making it slower for straight line acceleration. Model y was down prob 40hp racing in track mode.

A 1 min google search would tell you it's not wise to use trackmode during a drag race hence why the plaid models have dragstrip mode to heat battery temp. For being a channel dedicated to ev cars I would think you'd know that ev's need heat in the batterys for optimal performance.
Best way to drag is to warm up motors by navigating to supercharger. It will precondition battery. Cancel right before race and it will be noticeably faster.

The battery for max power however needs a quite high temperature and track mode then on short dragraces will as stated in this thread cool excessivly. With navi to supercharger og using s3xy buttons "preheat battery" function will increase performance. Track mode is still fun though, as one can record videos, data from the car etc.

As these cars have emmense torque, the slightest delay can make a huge difference. Ive noticed with ALOT of replays BOTH Tesla side @ 1:47 and Volvo side @ 3:25. It is very clear on the 3:25 that you see Tesla already driving off and right after the volvo driver drives off as you can also hear the thump in him pressing the accelerator. Not correct these results....

Just wierd clip. Rerun with a driver that can drive 😎 The EX30 had faster 0-100 time and 201m but lose both races. Other test showed that the EX30 can make around 3.6s easily with high SoC. The camera angle was on purpose 😏 The same with the acceleration padel that has a lag, that lag seams to be the winning edge with this high 0-100.
There is no "driving" here. Just press pedal and wait. Same as just about every so called drag race these days, EV or ICE. These could just as easily be done with a simple rig, comprising an actuator that forces the pedal to the floor in each car, at the same time, electronically. A human just to steer on track.

They're all dull as anything since there's absolutely nothing to do now except press accelerator and wait while stuff does stuff until a distance mark. EV drag races are kinda boring, ICE ones equally so. Modern exhausts with all the emissions controls just result in muffled but raspy popping banging garbage, with automatic boxes and launch control. Guys settle down its a drag race! Having a laggy takeoff is part of that car. If they want it to be faster at a drag race then they need to implement a no lag takeoff.
Crazy Volvo doesn't increase the top speed in all of its cars to 200kmph. Most of their new faster cars can't even complete the quarter mile without hitting the top speed
It would be highly valued to show 0-100kmh(and 0-60kmh) times from both cars from the same run started at the moment the cars start to move, in that way viewers can even out the jump starts. Also would be nice to add rolling tests starting at 100kmh with statistics Additionally also the battery SOC plays huge role, in some of the cars it directly affects the performance To go even deeper, the ambient temperature would be good also but thats maybe too much to be asked. By adding these, will give people more good statistics and your videos will gain even more of interest. I ve been watching most of your videos :)

There is no way the Volvo would have won. The Tesla will just keep pulling away as the speed increases. It's Volvos decision to have a speed limiter because Volvo knows the EX can't handle higher sustained speeds.
No way? Look at the dragy times brother. Volvo was 2 tenths quicker on the quarter mile, which they were measuring. Tesla just left before the volvo on the launch.
I’m a MYP owner, to be honest I’m impressed from the Volvo, but I would still buy my Tesla again, it’s definitely more cost effective, it’s bigger, faster, don’t think just about acceleration, Volvos are speed limited (180 km/h if I’m not mistaken) while MYP goes until 260 km/h. Price wise are similar but ex30 is a SUV B while Tesla is a SUV C
Somebody lied? Volvo made both 0-100 and 1/4 mile quicker than Tesla, and it has the same weight as the Tesla, so it must have equal or more horsepower. but Tesla claimed having 25% more power which cannot be true
The Volvo is a bit of a miracle to me. The trunks offers less than half of the Tesla's trunk space, both if seats are up or down. Sure, it is smaller, but not that much smaller. And then there's the weight. How'd they manage to make it as heavy as the Tesla, even though it's smaller and has a smaller battery? I then went on and compared them to the huuuge EX90. Even that one offers less trunk space than the Y. Either Tesla is insanely great at engineering or Volvo is really bad at it. I don't know which one it is.
Just try both back to back and u get the answer real fast. Ex30 is so quiet and comfortable. Tesla is like a 30 year old sovjet car...... I was really impressed by the Ex30. Its a small car but rides like a big really nice car.

The person counting down to go will get of the line first because the other person has to take in what he has said then put his foot down while the man saying go has put his foot down at that exact point. To be fair you need someone to stand between them countdown and drop there arms to start as they do on every drag race I see.

Still doesn’t explain being beaten by a car with 100+ hp less, 100+nm less and same weight. Tesla’s are simply overrated when it comes to performance.
