Hi Dylan. you have some epic content especially in Motion. One quick question, on your timeline it shows the keyframes in between the groups etc, is this something you have to enable as they dont show up on mine? which is handy for shortening the length etc. keep up the great wok man!
Yes! I wish I had mentioned that in this video. If you go to the top right corner of the timeline, you will see a small diamond icon with a line through it to a solid diamond. That will activate keyframes on the timeline. Hope that makes sense!

Nice vid but tbh all of this is so much easier in Figma prototype no offense. I am genuinely looking for some cool use cases for Apple Motion and how to make cool stuff with it.
Dear Dylan. Great quality in your videos, but listen man... I is absolutely intolerable the way that you have edited the natural pauses in your speech away. For that reason alone I will find another tutorial. It is extremely stressful to listen to.
I completely understand where you’re coming from! I actually like natural pauses too. But the problem is, TH-cam is extremely watch time focused. And when your entire career depends on people watching videos for as long as possible, you need to follow what works.
I’ve done lots and lots of testing on the channel, and cutting out air is a hugely important factor in keeping people on the video. At least for my channel. So if I have to choose between seeing larger TH-cam growth, or making the video a more comfortable experience for a much smaller audience… I’m gonna choose the growth. Especially when paying my bills depends on it.
It’s a bummer that it’s stressful to you, and it’s actually a lot more work for me, but I need to do what works in the TH-cam shorts/TikTok age of the internet. Hopefully that makes sense!
That said, if you want a tutorial that has pacing closer to what you like, I definitely recommend channels like Rowie409, Simon Ubsdell, Ripple Training, Joseph Slinker, Jenn Jager. All are exceptional and leave a lot more breathing room in their editing!

Something that might be easy to overlook for anyone coming from any other software like After Effects: this whole thing was realtime, no pre-rendering, waiting for a frame to update (or frames progress bar on top of the timeline), skimming and moving and animating is a breeze, almost nothing chugs for the most part even on quite complex projects (minus DoF and Motion Blur high settings).
Happy to see this channel is exploding, the second 10K chunk seems to have happened at a fraction of the time of the first 10K hope it continues on like this.

hi dylan, thank you so much for your tutorial! actually, all of your tutorials!! i followed everything, opened up final cut and the subscribe button was there, but it is giving me that awful red !T error. i checked my finder and it is in (the motion templates>)titles folder. ive tried to resave it, restart motion and final cut, but nothing is working. any suggestions? thank you so much in advance!

Hey Dylan, Would you mind elaborating on the 'Type' parameter (Green Markers) for publishing? I'm still unclear as to why they are added at the beginning (end of animation entrance) and before the ending (beginning of exit animation)? Why couldn't I just add them at the VERY beginning and the VERY ending of the whole clip?

I’ve been studying through my Final Cut and Motion user guides and I came across your video and it helped me so much that I can now do animations and I’m getting really used to using Motion since I just recently bought it for my Mac back in November. I’m currently learning to get into filming and editing since I run a 2nd TH-cam Channel for my adventures and documentaries.

Great content, I did ask a question earlier but it vanished for some reason, anyways keep doing what you're doing because I'm learning a lot, cheers.
I think a beginner tutorial needs to go from the beginning> For example, I cannot find any info about something which should be a fundamental part of building a motion animation: such as creating shapes and having them scale and position relative to other shapes automatically e.g. If I have a line shape nested inside a box shape, I'd like to know how the line shape can automatically always be 10 units from inside the left of the box and 10 units from inside the right of the box, no matter how I resize the box.

Hope you can answer this simply. Will this still work with Adobe Premiere Pro? I have been a longtime user of Final Cut Pro, but I’m learning to create with Adobe Premiere Pro. Is there a tutorial for that or is it going to be similar to what is done for FCP?
If you’re wanting to work in premiere, you’d be far better off using after effects instead!
