Yes he is a good God who is full of surprises we can never get to fully know him, but resting on the fact that He is loves us and He is never changing is more than enough comfort. Praise be to Yawheh, the King of the Universe, protector and provider fro us all. Hallelujah!

Wow, this was just what I needed to hear today. In a world full of uncertainty, especially in todays climate, we can cling to our God who is full of surprises beyond imagination that are ultimately for the good of his kingdom and those who love him.
Just because things don’t happen the way we plan or imagine doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have great plans for us!
Thank you so much for sharing!!

Consider also Deuteronomy 2:9 Do not harass Moab, nor contend with them in battle and Deuteronomy 20:19‭-‬20 not to cut down *all* trees (the ones for food), they disobeyed these.
Also Ahab was an evil and cursed king and his descendants [Jehoram] were too even Elisha says “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you[Jehoram], nor see you.
    II Kings 3:14

That part always puzzled me, the scribes did a wonderful job hiding the mystery.

When the king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through to the king of Edom, but they failed. 27 Then he took his firstborn(V) son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered him as a sacrifice on the city wall. The fury against Israel was great; they withdrew and returned to their own land.

This sets what could look like a defeat for God in prespective
You realize he did all that without lying

Hello...thanks for the exhortations.. it helps me understand more about certain verses...However, I have some corrections for the following details/verses:
*0:48 Jehoram forms a coalition with Edom and Judah (not Israel)
*0:59 One member of the coalition (the Bible mentioned that the 'Israel king ') believes God is trapping them....
*1:07 Jehoshafat (not Jehoram / Joram) seeks out a prophet for guidance.
*1:59 It is the sun that shone in the water ( not the red sand nor the desert sand) make the miracle - lake look like blood
*2:15 But Israel ( didn't mention Edom in the verse) are waiting...

Did God respond to the sacrifice of the king of Moab?

Doesn't the flowing of the water during the morning sacrifice act as a shadow of Christ's crucifixion? The water upon the sun's reflection being red as the location of Edom means red and derived from dam/blood is perhaps representing Christ's blood.

How can God test and trap his own people? Any biblical evidence?

This was a great message until you said He is a God of the unexpected. How can He be a God of the unexpected if He reveals to us? He gives us warnings and He teaches us how to live morally. It’s not that He is a God of the unexpected. It’s that He is a just God and will put your will to shame. If you live a life that is wrong, He will call you back but by bringing you down first.
