I can honestly say that this is the best series I have ever watched, This includes series outside of TH-cam. No series I have ever watched has ever come close to the fun I've had watching this and to add to that this series got me through (no not depression) the longest period of boredom I have ever experienced, which was working in a different city without any friends or contacts in. So basically watching and waiting for episodes of Edwad was what made me not kill myself of boredom. Thank you
Wow holy shit, the first Darksouls 3 video was over a year ago in April, Bedbananas, Vaati, every guest who cameod in an episode for a bit, the editor, and of course Criken. Thank you guys so much for this little piece of the Dark Souls community that we can just sit back to suspend our reality a bit for, maybe a little more than a bit, and just sit back and have fun. Sadly I never caught a single stream of Edwad Emberpants live but hopefully with Bloodborne I can remedy that. Honestly you three including the editor and again all the guest cameos really deserve a hand, again I just want to say thanks cause at this point I am semi-rambling. But yeah, hopefully us viewers get to see, The trio return together in Bloodborne, I know I am not the only one waiting, see you all then, in the new world in where in which it's origins lie when Criken killed the little girl, to paint a world of eldritch abominations, good hunters, and of course lore. Well I said I would end it earlier but havent yet so, see you all in that horrid world everyone.
Neither of which are that bad. Just beat both this morning. Level 95, after reading all the whiny threads on wiki about not being able to beat them at level 200+. EDIT: Forgot to mention that Amy was a single attempt victory.
You people forget this is Criken and friends we are talking about. They took this long to Beat DS3 and its DLCs. If they do bloodborne's main game, dlc, and chalice dungeon content that series could probably be longer than this one.
There actually is an item description that explains this reason, and that item is actually the Slave Knight Set. “Long ago, only the Undead served as slave knights, warriors used as fodder in the bleakest of battles.” “They grew decrepit, their skin charred black and their bones twisted. Eventually they went outright mad, but were never relieved from duty.” Gael’s skeletal structure isn’t what it used to be when he first became a Slave Knight, wear and tear from so many battles caused their injured bones to mend in such a freakish way. Thus causing this “monkey running” that Gael seems to do.

I will never forget this series, it was amazing. I am sad it has ended but like everything else...all good things come to and end..but silly Edwad will always be remembered.
And so our journey comes to a close. After an arduous journey full of strife and sorrow. We lost many along the way, meatball, moose, fake vaati, and vaatis sanity. But we persevered, we triumphed. And finally, at the end of the world, Edwad finally found it, the last bit of lore, a tiny precious thing.... Which edwad proceeded to rub on his face..... The path to linking the fire is a cursed one indeed.
At the end of his journey, Vaati thought it was finally over. No more having to deal with Edwad and Cindersun ignoring his deep and meaningful lore facts, no longer watching Edwad tumble to his death over cliff edges. It was finally complete. Or so he thought. In his relief at finally completing the painting, Vaati had lowered his guard and was caught completely unawares by the horror that awaited him inside the painting named 'Edwad Emberpants'. Now once more he finds himself trapped in a whole new world, filled with brand new lore, but still stuck with the same two companions who give no shits about any of it and only focus on tormenting him until he is once again naught but ash.
This was hands down phenomenal, I remember the excitement I had when this series was announced and I could've of hoped for nothing more. This was 10x what I was expecting and I'm so grateful it exists.
To me this is the peak of From soft entertainment. I love this playthrough and have shared it with multiple people. I end up rewatching it at least once a year and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I know you've started and fallen off with the Bloodborne and Elden ring playthroughs for you reason or another but it would mean the world to me as a life long viewer if you could give either of those playthroughs another shot. I'm sure many of your subscribers would love to see them finished too!!!
Since Part 13 of this series, I began writing out this comment. With each part making me more eager for the next to come. I started watching this at a stressful time in my life. I've only watched your content recently. The SCP videos are what got me addicted to your videos. I remember the first video that ended up in my recommended by you being Styx the goblin death compilation. Edwad is by far the one that I am attached to the most out of all your characters you make for the fun of it. Despite it all being roleplay, and knowing that I could never take it seriously. You've done the impossible and made me HEAVILY intrigued to learn more about this characters story and adventure you have set for them. You have not failed me Criken and you never will, and I don't ever forget that. Unless of course you do that's fine too, but I will never forget about Edwad the red bean boy, and the legendary sun bros that had to put up with so much of Edwads tyranny.
One of the jokes that has stuck with me, even to this day. Is how Vaati reacted to Criken having 30 attunement. The surprise still cracks me up to this day.
This will only really make sense to those who watched the stream: Edwad makes his way up the final ladder, singing to himself in his head. He sees the girl, perched on the edge of her stool, admiring the empty canvas, and stalks up to her. She looks over to him as he hands over the blood. "My thanks, Ashen one, with this, will i paint a world" she continues to talk, although Edwad is lost in his head. He wonders if he will be able to meet his freinds again, after all it has been years scince they disappeared, but Edwad could still hear their voices reaching out to him, encouraging him. She asks his name, breaking Edwads chain of thought. Edwad was confused. His name? What was his name... surely Vaati would know! He asks out loud "Vaabi." He stares at a wall for a moment. "do I have a name?" The girl stares blankly, waiting patiently for an answer, after all she knew what the outside world was like, how it made people go insane. "Your name is Edwad Emberpants, share your name." The voice in edwad's head replies. "DAMN RIGHT I AM! Edwad shouts proudly. He shares his name. "My thanks. I will paint a world of that name." Again, Edwad questions in his head, driving him past the point of no return. He wonders what made him come here in the first place. Was he losing his memory? Would he lose vaati? Edwad couldn't handle this, he searched for anything he could do to recover. "It's me! Edwad! Thanks for watching Everybody! This is Dark souls 3! Dumb game!" The girl continues to talk, to annoy edwad. She angers him. Telling her to stop, his mind tells him that she's the cause of his problems. "Enough with the lore! I get it! You're gonna give me a world, it's gonna be My world! Thank you!" He had had enough, his mind broken, he repeated the same phrase. "End of scene!" Whilst unknowingly digging his hook into the girl's flesh, staining the canvas with her entrails. "Look! I'm painting with your blood now!" He explains, though she is already dead, slumped over, as her soul fades, until nothing is left. "End o-" He stops, realizing his madness, and remains silent. He does not know what he has to do. As a last hope, he asks himself "what happens if I kill her?" Vaati responds. "Uh, don't?" Edwad knows this is irreversable, changing the voices to fit his will. Forcing them to reassure him. "It's fine, she'll be back to paint it later" his mind responds. But then edwad realizes something. 'Chosen one'. Did it really mean anything? No... Edwad sees the manipulation they put him through, eventually knowing what he would do. They guided him through the world until he was powerful enough. Someone stubborn enough was needed to have two 'buddies', helpers who would have opposite intentions, without telling each other. 100% CINDER SUN, with evil purpose, acting out all of the time, and Gwyn's firstborn, an angel of some sort, keeping him from falling too far. Eventually he would come to make the perfect empire, one without fire. He was being puppeteered. 'Stopper of the cycle', the one who could hold the flame and bend it to his will, only eventually to end it all. He needed to realize that 'good' wasn't actually good at all, just a never-ending cycle of pain. Because no one really knows whether the 'dark' was bad, perhaps it is a peacefull, gentle dark. Sort of a 'heaven for enduring it all'. Faced with this fate, Edwad knew what had to happen. Edwad launched himself down the hatch which he came up and landed flat on the ground. With his conciousness fading, he had one last thought. "Vaabi, i'm coming too."
Every night I have dreamt of your graceful visage, hoping to see you again, but not like this Edwad.... not like this.... I don't want it to end.........
This series is just .... maybe someday I will find the words to describe it but until then I will rewatch the series whenever I need a big smile on my face. Thanks to you Edwad, Vaati and Cinder Sun for making something so timeless, funny and something that can always put a smile on my face.
