Yeah, the criticism for the this girl is so unnecessary. It's not what you normally expect a first date to be, but so what it's not harming anyone? The guy agreed to it and seemed to like running too, what if we're just extremely unfit people? This could be normal for them. I have friends who'd go hiking for first dates, it's cute.

I could be wrong but she probably wanted to go for a different type of date instead of the same old movie dates, somehow feeling creative. She is also looking for some activity where she feels comfortable so that she feel less awkward when initiating a conversation, introverts can interact better in a familiar environment especially when meeting someone new or doing something new (dating).
To be fair to her, if you're not comfortable with keeping eye contact, a trick is usually to look at someone's forehead or nose when talking to them. She's probably a bit awkward and used that trick a bit too obviously. From a fellow socially awkward person, kudos to her for putting herself out there honestly.
Well I suffer from the opposite. For me looking away is kinda hard..I like to know that I have the person's attention when I'm speaking. I find it kinda rude tho when someone looks away. So I guess introvert or extrovert we each have our individual struggles ?

I don't think it's such a bad idea. It's one way to promote clear and open communication, and it shows that they actually want to know your point of view of how the date went, and is open to change/compromise! Sure it's not the most romantic thing in the world, but I'd see it as goofy and some people like that

I absolutely hate eye contact and prefer sitting next to someone when on a date rather than across a table. When my husband and I first started dating, he sat next to me automatically, and it made it nice to be closer to him and be able to speak more quietly, without the pressure of maintaining eye contact. He's neurodivergent, too - so I guess we're two weirdos that got together. :D

Running is actually quite clever. It increases your heart rate, which your brain might misinterpret it as being in love. Same goes to scary rides in the theme park ('cuz adrenaline). The physiological changes that occurs when ur in love and when ur experiencing adrenaline and increasing heart beat is quite similar and the brain can sometimes be stupid enough to be tricked. Also, surviving something scary tgt draws ppl closer to each other, hence why many who went to the same concentration camps ended up marrying each other. Dating hack? Idk.

This feedback form aint new. There is an up & coming dating app in the philippines in which people can rate & review each other after some significant interaction. The creators said it promotes transparency and accountability.
I mean, feedback is fine but putting it in the form is a bit too much, as efficient as it is. Plus it removes the interaction you know. I think just straight up asking them is better, you guys can discuss it too.

I am going to sound a bit mean. You always keep the first date short and pristine. As a Asian American man who dated a lot in the past with girls of all races. Going on a date that involves running isn't good. First date should always be just a complementary to knowing each other. I'd would limit all first date to less than 1 hour and that is to include maybe a coffee grab. It's understandable that the girl is very inexperience. It's a very awkward date like how she did it so I hope she can learn how to be more better next time.
