Taemin had a cold when he recorded Monologue. He waited for the perfect time when he feels vulnerable enough to record it. It's such a personal song + you feel extra emotional when sick. He's a true artist. Always thinking about how he can convey something perfectly.
I think he put all his grief in Monologue and made something beautiful out of it.
Taemin is a complete artist, and we have only two weeks for his return

I rarely talk about this song, but as a person who professionally plays in a string quartet I truly love it - it’s a piano and string quartet, not just cello and violin and it’s beautifully written with instruments imitating their parts as a canon or echo, it’s an absolute perfection. I would love to accompany Taemin on stage with my string quartet when he performs it…
As for Taemin - he’s a poet, not just a singer - a poet. His musicality is off the charts, everything sounds good in his interpretation, he just has an amazing sensitivity and he knows how to evoke certain emotions in his listeners. I love this man with all my heart, he’s my number one artist in the world.

I have only recently Shinee and then Taemin. He is such a beautiful artist and human. Thank you for putting into words how I feel about his music. This is my favourite track for sure.

Taemin wrote this as a message to Jonghyun after his hyung died and was fuelled by his pain an grief at Jonghyuns loss. Jonghyun was someone Taemin was raised by as a mother with her child. He is what you would call the group's heart. Jonghyun passed the role of mother to key since key was the one that did everything for them during their debut yrs. Wake them up feed them get Taemin off to school evt.
Key still looks after taemin as a mother.
Each member poured their grief into the story of light albums each album represents each stage of their grief an recovery process. Though Taemin used his grief for this particular song.. He doesn't song it often at his concerts. If all the concerts he's done he's only sang it twice.
Each member whenever they hear Jonghyuns voice or vocals have trouble coping with it Minho recently did a 3 day radio show and every time he played one of their shinee songs or Jonghyuns solo work he has to control his emotions because it brought his feeling of griefw.an loss to the fore.
6 yrs have passed since his loss and yet each member still finds it hard at unexpected moments
OMG the way you enjoy taemin's voice and especially the melodies gratifying, thanks for reacting this song it's one of my favorites, by the way Taemin end his military service in two weeks and will continue creating beautiful songs 💗

I used to wonder if people really appreciate his talent and seeing how you react to the emotions and his vocals in this song, I see that they recommend such songs more and more. I absolutely love it and also Snow Flower I can't even explain why but the more I listen to it the more I like it

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE 🎉. I absolutely LOVE this song, I bawled my eyes out the first time I heard in the studio version, but especially the live version, so much power and raw emotion in his voice that I rarely hear in newer male idols(not saying they don't exist but I personally haven't heard many😅)
