It took me about a week to hear back from them regarding the results and then a few days to hear from SWA about scheduling an interview. Interview was very low stress. What got you into aviation? What do you enjoy about flying? What do you think is going to be challenging? What is something you feel you need to keep working on (weaknesses)? Very simple interview type questions. They will probably ask you about what you currently do for work and about your hobbies/interests, which is great because then you can tell them about the things that you are passionate about and what motivates you. aaaahh ...remember the good ole days... there were programs called "ab initio". Those were schools that had intense programs, and if you came out the other side you had around 300hrs and a guranteed interview with the airline that ran it. Mesa airlines had one and so did another one. Then one day congress killed it and said you need 1500 hrs to get a job....what a pity...
@@trent_dyrsmid ya man, I remember hearing about quite a few guys and gals, well into their 40's going into those programs and starting a new career/life... it was pretty cool...

Got accepted to flight school for the army and leave in 2 months for it and am trying to figure out on how I should go about flying for the airlines, maybe frontier using it but honestly its so damn confusing reading it all. like, I dont need 750 flight hours when I join the RTP Program right? I just need 500 flight hours then they get me the 250 hours I need to get my R-ATP to actually fly for the airline? just weird. But I'll be back hopefully in just under 5 years so I guess I'll see if they're even still doing it then or if the pilot shortage is gone by that time and I cant find a job when I leave active duty

If not, what would be the estimated cost? 3. Is there any contractual bond with Airline, and if so, what is the duration? 4. What type of visa is required for this program? 5. Is this program applicable for undergraduate students as well? 6.Are there any other cadet programs that also provide sponsorship opportunities for Indian students? 7.When is the expected reopening date for the this Cadet Pilot Program? 8.I am Indian student what document I need and in our country there is ssc and hsc there is not any GCSEs then it will fine or not? 9. There is any Cadet Pilot program which also train and give job guarantee in there airline for International student? (Please Give Some Airline Name) I appreciate your time and assistance. Best regards,
Unless SW is paying for all training - these airline programs are not that great. There WILL be thousands hired of the next few years - do not worry about getting hired as long as you can fly and have a good training record. These programs are all about locking new pilots down. If an airline pays for all training - then it might be worth it. Another not so great program is the United Aviate. All the cards are in their side...no guarantees from them, no training and they have you in their pocket to call on you whenever they feel like. Could be 5, 10 or never years.

Great option…
First commenter! Thanks for watching :)
aaaahh ...remember the good ole days... there were programs called "ab initio".

🙌
Southwest is not paying but giving you a loan. But flying 4-5 times a week really tells you how much flying a student needs to do a week.
Thanks so much for watching one of my videos! i really appreciate you taking a moment to comment! i read every commemt personally 🙌
You meant Destination 225°?
🙌
If trent could do a video on the RTP programs for military that'd be sick.
I know absolutely nothing about that program/path so you’ll have to do that research yourself. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Has anybody brainstormed ideas or have experience doing a training program like this with a family?
My only idea is living in a camper for the first few years.

wish Canada was this smart to do this program. sigh.
🤷♂️
Is it for all nationality
🤷♂️
I hold an FAA commercial single /multi engine /IFR
Boeing 737-800 type rating
Total time 350 hours
Tell me how can this 225 program help me get a job with southwest?
It can’t.
Is a ppl required to apply?
No
Is that a southwest a320 on the thumbnail? Lol
Why is that funny? Its a Southwest jet on a thumbnail for a video about Southwest. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
I turn 30 in 2 months and have been contemplating becoming a pilot for the past 10 years. Could this be a good way to start?
It is a SUPERB way to start, IMHO.
If you don't act on this, one day you'll be 60 or 70 and wish you had gone for it. If it is your dream, just do it!

It’s like Uber in the sky but worse

35k a year doing training? That’s a pay cut to me, and I’ve been interested since my department is been promoting and with the rest of my colleagues

I’m wondering if the fact this video is 7:37 long is by pure luck or perfectly planned. 😂
I wish I could take credit for that 🤣
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to humbly request your assistance have a few inquiries:
1. There is any cadet pilot program sponsor for Indian students?
(Please Give Some Airline Name)
I appreciate your time and assistance.
Best regards,
I’m sorry but I don’t have answers to any of those questions. You’d need to use Google.

35K salary? Seriously?
Yes. That is the going rate for a CFI....unless you work as an independent. If you do, you can double it.
The CAE for Southwest sent me an invoice for $200 dollars.
I don’t think that is legit. Look at the from address on the email.
225 turned into politics. Drama from within

Your thumbnail is an Airbus320 in SWA paint. This is heresy within SWA culture!!! MASSIVE FAIL Mr Trent! 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
