Ilmango: o yea btw lag might drop to 10 fps due to the 50 or so island sized redstone builds on the server.
That first scene though xD. My god was his frames dropping. Also most minecraft youtubers lag because of an exces of entities like animals. Redstone lag is harder to achieve in my mind
I think the floor is looking great! Even if you are not too happy about it, you need to make a step back and think about what you and the server created: a randomised floor builder, geez man! It’s insane! I don't know how the machine works precisely, but if it is really randomised it could have been completely built out of dark prismarine ;)
Kyle Reid Yes, I know. I just wanted to say that even if the floor it's a little bit whiter than what they hoped for, it's still a good looking floor.
Ilmango and the others on the Scicraft server are some of the most talented technical Minecraft player of the community and they managed to build impossible machines achieving goals almost unthinkable for the 99.9% of the players in survival Minecraft. I just wanted to point out with what I considered a joke that the floor problem is not that big of a deal in my opinion compared to what they have done in the past and to what they’re going to do in the future :)
By the way, I don't think that 100 coin flips would be enough hahaha

I entered the server when you gave free access to it and I had so much fun seeing the scicraft world by first hand, but I missed your explanations :P. So I'll definitely watch the complete server tour if you do it! I would enjoy it very much. Nice video and nice idea.

Light colors will always look more visible next to darker ones. If you want to do a gradient again (on top of your idea) try changing the "mid point" of the transition somewhere around 55-60% if possible

Great work, was awesome to see the floor builder in action, thanks for this(I thought the whites wouldn't mesh well when you said you were adding them). It was also cool to see you work certain things out in action and your thinking process like when trying the 3 game tick mover/convener belt. I would def watch an updated/outdated server tour no matter how long it took. Keep up the great work.
You can't really ask for a special(except for full tour ) episode. As every episode is so epic !! And ofc I would love a full server tour !

I definitly like to see a tour of the server. I would be nice if you also included all the now broken farms and other abandoned building that are still there.
Really nice job with the floor builder ! I mean, sure, maybe you haven't chosen colors that go well together or something, but next time you will know how to prevent these weird contrast issues in the floor. For exemple, you could try to use 3 different color palettes, one dark, one in between, and one light (no idea how, it probably adds more redstone complexity, but you're very good at coming up with new redstone stuff). Or maybe choose less vivid colors (maybe white was a bit much as you said).
I mean, I think it is definitely good enough for a first try (at least the first with a gradient, the walls were not affected by this kind of problem). Anyway, you need to remind yourself that just the fact that you could build a machine that actually works is impressive.

Now that I think of it, you could have used some external code to simulate how the random gradient floor will look like. This way you could have chosen more fitting colors before gathering the resources. Oh well, maybe next time :D
maybe it’s just me thinking too much about it but it seems the way that beginning clip was directed was really well done. one person to place blocks, one camera man, one person to change in-game speed?, another person to direct? must have taken great coordination
addendum: perhaps tick speed was never changed, it just looks like things are sped up :P amazing work nevertheless

I'm still waiting for an glass cutting tool in MC. So we can mine glass and ofc obsidian fast/instant mining. Maybe an enchantment would work better, so no slot in the inventory get lost.

Awesome work with the floor builder. Were you able to find a solution for the glass layer that doesn't require a complete redesign or are you just going to place it by hand?
Some blocks stacked up to more than 1 block before the clone i16 was able to pick them up, making the floor seem to have stripes of same color, but it still looks okay.

for the wall and floor builder, have you thought about letting the flying machines fly back a bit higher so that the next part can already be assembled while the machines are bringing the previous one over? this should double the speed.
I would really appreciate a Full Server Tour.
Also I wouldn't mind if the video will be several hours long, since it takes a lot of time to show everything. You might wanna add timestamps to the discrption however.
Please go into detail if you decide to do one. It would be super interesting to what you build, how it works, and why you build it that way (why was it the best option in version x.y.z)

Hostile mobs can't spawn on bedrock, and where that was happening was always (from what I could tell) bedrock - no problems there.

had been waiting for that floor the whole week, i think that is ok, maybe the issue is that the scale is so big that there is too much noise since the blocks are too small in comparison. a smaller floor or a way to make random blocks in a 2x2 or 3x3 pattern of the same block probably could improve it, but still, is not a bad floor, and when finish is probably going to look great.
by the way, that view of the netherhub from the bottom is one of the things that i wanted to see, i saw another view of the nether hub in a pallapalla video, the thing looks cool.
also, what project could use that much obsidian? you already have a giant portal farm so... maybe a hint in the world tour please?

In the future could we get a tutorial on the wither farm, and possibly with ways to adapt it into a wood and cobble farm? I do not understand how to get rid of the bedrock to do what you did I am afraid, and am much better at learning by seeing.

The pattern doesn't look completely random but seems to have stripes in it. Is that because the client of the player that places the blocks is often laggy and doesn't pick up all items as soon as they're dispensed?

How did you have the full 64 stack of white shulker boxes? Did you use the duplication glitch to get them?
Maybe you could set up a machine that zips across the Nether, gathering lava with down-facing dispensers? I have no idea how to do it, if it’s possible.
How could you go about making a random floor/wall builder using saplings to make wood that is then used for the walls?
I have recently built your 117,000XP/h gold/xp nether farm. I've built it block by block and it seems to be having some issues. We have moved the server from bukkit to vanilla and it still doesn't work. It works perfectly on a singleplayer download of the server. When there were 5 ppl on the server, 3 came to the farm and it worked for like 5 minutes and broke again. The last thing we had to check is if there are mobs under me when I stand on the AFK spot. We checked with my friend on spectator mode, and there is no mobs in the nether. Maybe it is the server's fault? I really have no idea how to fix it and what is causing the issue. Could someone help?
Edit: When there are like 6 ppl on the server, and everyone is in the overworld the farm seems to work wery well. Probably a mob cap issue.
I have a question: why very often you build perimiter 512x512 size? its because of player render distance and to reduce lag?
