I've never believed that anyone could play and sing Tool and do it well with all the intracacies. Let alone do it acoustically and absolutely nail it. This shatters my beliefs. Simply amazing dude.
Watching you do this is like vicariously living out my own fantasy to sing and play tool. I think I'd just break down and cry too much in the lyrics because of the emotional weight. It happens when I sing it to my stereo often.
Holy percussion and strumming Batman! Much respect for getting through a 10-minute vocal, guitar and percussion performance which, to my ears, was flawless!
so lovely to wake up to this today. thank u peter! i have yet to be disappointed by one of ur covers. u have most excellent taste in music sir... 💮 👏👏👏
Your TOOL covers are always amazing. Have you ever thought about starting a Patreon to teach the way you play and covers of your songs? Would definitely subscribe, although still a long way to go in my journey to reach this level 😭
Oh hell yes. Can't believe you put out another Tool song so fast, I've still got Rosetta Stoned on repeat! I love Descending so much and, as always, your interpretation scratches all the right spots. Thanks Peter :)
Thanks man! It came together quicker than I expected. I had a cold recently and so had some days off work. I used the time to practice this! Glad you liked it, Nicolas!

Talk about motivation u inspire many to play less than 1percent of the people can play let alone sing to perfection evrytime... I feel blessed u are a Gift
I was hoping you'd do this one! It's my favorite from Fear Inoculum. Amazing job!! You actually nailed the second half instrumental part alone on a acoustic guitar!
HECK YESSSS!!!! My absolute favorite Tool song! *chef's kiss* perfection as usual!! I can't believe it's 10min long! It felt much shorter, as it just flowed so well!
Amazing work as usual. Is there any way you can put your covers on soundcloud? I'd like to listen to them on the go and be able to turn my phone screen off/ not use so much data. Thanks
Peter, so incredibly impressive! Thank you for continuing to produce this content. Curious, how long does it take for you to learn a “typical” piece (with the understanding that Descending is anything but typical)?
Thanks! Usually the decision to cover a song is spur-of-the-moment. It’s fun for me to think of a song I know and see how quickly I can arrange it for acoustic guitar. When I do songs I’ve known on guitar for years I tend to be going through the motions. Songs like Stinkfist and Parabola etc are still done like this, but stuff like Rosetta Stoned is worked on and practiced until it’s good enough.
Playing and singing is amazing, but those high riffs are begging for distortion, so maybe its impossible to imitate them (with an arrangements) on acoustic guitar.
Your guitar playing is so perfect in every cover i watch. Your singing is good too. This is just my personal opinion and don't mean to be rude but my preference would be to hear a bit more emotion and feeling in the voice instead of trying to sing "correct" it sounds a bit robotic.
Taste is subjective, but beyond that, I don't understand where you're coming from. From an objective standpoint, he is, in NO way, singing this song, or any of his covers, the way they were originally performed. He is doing things in this song that very much make the performance unique to HIM. He is approaching the vocal line very differently than MJK, and in MY opinion, adding YOUR OWN creative element to a cover song is quite the opposite of robotic. This dude rocks 🤘🏻
I want to press that like button more than once...

Thank you my friend!

The amount of talent is just....wow!
Just outrageously good.
Love from Republic of Sovereigns 😍
Such a brilliant guitarist! I’m honored hearing this mate! Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷
Oh my... perfection.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Free fall through our midnight
This epilogue of our own fable
Heedless in our slumber
Floating nescient, we
[Verse 2]
Free fall through this boundlessness
This madness of our own making
Falling isn't flying
Floating isn't infinite
[Pre-Chorus]
Come, our end, suddenly
All hail our lethargy
Concede suddenly
[Interlude]
To the quickened dissolution
Pray we mitigate the ruin
Calling all to arms and order
[Verse 3]
Drifting through this boundlessness
This madness of our own making
[Pre-Chorus]
Sound our dire reveille
Rouse all from our apathy
Lest we
Cease to be
[Chorus]
Stir us from our
Wanton slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to arms and order
[Bridge]
Sound the dread alarm
Through the primal body
Sound the reveille
To be or not to be
Rise
Stay the grand finale
Stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue
One drive to stay alive
Elementary
Muster every fiber
Mobilize
Stay alive
[Chorus]
Stir us from our
Wanton slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to arms and order
Bruh 🙇♂️ what a way to celebrate five years of the song. Thank you for this it is amazing and your version really well honed to acoustic as well.
You really are awesome. Can't imagine learning to play tool and let alone sing.
Bros so good he stopped adding descriptions XD
I really enjoyed that,
Talk about motivation u inspire many to play less than 1percent of the people can play let alone sing to perfection evrytime... I feel blessed u are a Gift
Thanks for the kind words, Todd!

I was hoping you'd do this one! It's my favorite from Fear Inoculum. Amazing job!!
You actually nailed the second half instrumental part alone on a acoustic guitar!
Cheers man! the nice part about playing this one was halfway through I can stop thinking about the vocals and just relax.
@@peterspiker9960 hahaha I can imagine! Still you did an amazing job with the vocals. You did it justice.
Wow!!!!

I too was surprised that it hit 10 minutes, actually! I’m glad you enjoyed it mate!
one of the best tool covers, again
Cheers, mate!
Amazing work❤
When's the cover album coming out?
I am working on, promise! It just has to be fit around real life.

🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
4:00 hey!
Peter Spiker needs to play our wedding , and when I say "our" I mean Peter and I.
But how can I sing when I’m crying with joy??
Amazing work as usual. Is there any way you can put your covers on soundcloud? I'd like to listen to them on the go and be able to turn my phone screen off/ not use so much data. Thanks
Cheers! I’m working on a Tool cover album to put on Spotify etc. Soundcloud isn’t a bad idea though, I shall ponder!
@@peterspiker9960 Great to hear! Spotify is even better for me actually. I can only hope your APC covers will come next haha.

But, like how? How? The guitar and vocal melodies are completely different.
I would love to hear your covers from a professional studio. Maybe some patronaite?
Dude, add some tags to description, I want you to get some deserved attention)
…… that has literally never occurred to me… 😑
🤌

Falling isn't flying
Isn’t that such a great line in context with what the song is about? He’s such a clever lyricist.
@@peterspiker9960 He is Genius

Agree to disagree, I love his style and I think it fits perfectly with his rendition. Flawless.
Probably the best tool covers on TH-cam, it's no way robotic IMO
✌️
