I may fish here this week while on vacation take a break from allatoona. Any tips? Beside leave the outboard at home and bring an extra battery for the trolling motor. You put some nice vids together!!
Thanks! The water is typically more clear the farther from the ramp you get. I don’t think the lake turnover has happened yet so not sure if you will find a lot of activity in the backs of the creeks yet. Threadfin and brim are main forages, fall tends to be heavy Shad feeding time. Don’t be surprised to catch largemouth an a lot of spotted bass type lures and areas here. Jerk bait is something I use almost year round here, cadence will vary by season and sometimes I go deeper with them.
Thank you sir, just got home pretty much had it solo i got on the water about 1ish. Only made it as far as midlake was exploring all the pockets and coves along the way. They were chasing baitfish in coves/pockets fish were caught where water meets dryland.
Anyone can fish here, it’s $5 parking fee or you can get an annual pass from the city. You CANNOT use gas motors on this lake. It is a water reservoir and they decided no gas allowed. Also, the boat ramp isn’t usable right now as they have drained the lake down 7’ for dam maintenance. Hopefully by spring it will launchable.
@@SammyBenitez copy the resivor in Henry County is the water resivor it is open to fish I can have my nitro on it but trolling motor only no big motor that sucks your does not allow boats with motors on them there and troll only
@@bryanthefishermanbaker4961 yeah, they are strict about keeping gas motors off the water entirely. Lake acworth and Rocky Mountain do allow the gas motor to be mounted. Acworth is trolling only and Rocky Mountain allows idle speeds I believe.

And definitely bring an extra battery, it’s a pretty long reservoir to get stuck out there. Enjoy the peaceful Hickory Log

That's a great reservoir, need to get back out there again. All I ever catch them on there is a jig in deeper water, good fish though.
I rarely catch jig fish, and I rarely catch big fish. lol. But it’s a beautiful and quiet place close to home.

When they’re bumping and missing your bait, make an adjustment. Change color or bait size on that mudhole
