!20 shows, and yes, the greatest fucking venue of all time- We always hit the late show, 11:30 and rarely disappointed. Bill Greaham, and i was fortunate knowing this man was billiant, was a great guy and alsways shook his hand at the end of every event. Thank you, Ray
thank you as always for posting this! My family lived there since forever...I lived at 344 East 6th...corner of 1st...walked by there last week..I dream of magic of it happening again!
Love this docomentary of fillmore east always intereresting about this man wish could of been there to enjoi its amazing to me all the bands played there.
I was fortunate to have seen many of the all time greats at the Fillmore East. Every Fri or Sat nite we would go see a show, early or late, whatever was available. First show I saw at the Fillmore was Jefferson Airplane with Arthur Brown in '68. Airplane always gave a great show. Sly was fantastic. Best I saw was Hendrix with Band of Gypsies ($7 for 12th row from stage).
Absolutely, fabulous place for everyone energy since we have a wonderful day from live spirit of music. Fabulous video and comments. Thanks. Good time for you.
What a great time for seeing the greats of Rock. Between the Fillmore East and the Academy of Music on 14th St. I probable attended over 50 shows between the two. Tickets were cheap. The late shows at the Fillmore could last almost to daybreak.
What a footage. Took me back when I was 23, at the early 2000's, and used to listen 'Absolutely Live' on cd and wondered how was the ambient, the people of that show. Really good stuff. Thank you.
I saw several shows there . One night it was The Doors at The Felt Forum , 8 PM , then Santana 11 PM at The FILLMORE EAST ! The air was always heavy ! 😂
there was a fillmore east footage on youtube of doors break on through a few years ago but since deleted, the song was totally different to the normal composition. Wish I could see it again.

Danny was a nice kid. but the longer I do this the more I believe his memory could have been better. Here is a report on that show from two Elektra executives who were there.-The Doors are added to the bill at the end of July and are not listed on original promotional posters. -8:30pm scheduled start time for The Doors. -A VOX band battle takes place before the main performances on this date. -Gates open at 7:30pm for a presentation of an electric organ by Dimitris Toufexis. -The Doors reportedly lose equipment on the flight to this performance and are delayed taking the stage. -Audience members cheer and applause The Doors upon their arrival on stage. -Jim Morrison excites the audience with his introduction to the show by announcing "This is the end". -The Doors perform without incident and no lack of ability during this show. -The Doors are followed by Simon & Garfunkel. -Audience members heckle Simon & Garfunkel and receive entertaining responses. -A review written by John Stickney for the Williams Record (See Below) pertains to this show. -John Stickney attends this performance with Elektra publicist Danny Fields.

Doesn’t get much better than the Allmans at the Fillmore….no one could compete with that level of musicianship although many came close

Spotted the billboard for PATTON 1970. Wonder if Debra Harry Wind in the Willows / Blondie watched any Doors concerts ?

Anybody remember Ratner's Restaurant...?

I read somewhere that The Doors opened for Simon & Garfunkel in New York and were dissed by the S&G fans. It might have been Sugarman’s book?

The 60s sounds like a time that shouldn't have existed.
"Shouldn't" is all we heard, that why we kicked out the jams and made the scene!
