I have so much respect for anyone who learns new languages. As native English speakers we are so spoiled. Again, another amazing insight into the life!
I totally agree. We English speakers are so used to everyone speaking our language we never learn another one. Trouble is - which one? English, right or wrong, has become the world's language.
Is it a good idea to introduce English songs with meaningful lyrics in your lessons? Your students can analyze these songs and practice pronunciation (while singing?). Let me kick off with David Bowies' 'Five years' : th-cam.com/video/2ObjtVdsV3I/w-d-xo.html Greetings from the Netherlands.
I qualified as a teacher of art in 1979. I did my art degree first and teaching as my post graduate one. I admire your patience! I don't like teaching in schools, but teaching students privately is a lot of fun. Your friend is lucky to have a person like you in her life who cares so much about them. Well done!
@@RussianQueen-pi7cz I always feel a little ashamed that everybody knows my language and I know very little of anyone else's. I speak a tiny bit of French which I learned at high school and a little bit of Afrikaans because I lived in South Africa. Even if I tried to teach English I doubt if anyone could understand my thick Scottish accent. I wish you could teach me Russian!
As a Language Teacher myself, who Hopes to make a living out of it at the same cultural region (in my case Belarus, but - close enough; close enough), I was really Hoping to gain some important insight from this vid, but You gave me here *nothing* really - not how long a lesson is, not how do You find students and where, not how much are the normally accepted prices for those lessons, not how the payment is accepted - nothing! But, instead, You chose to talk a lot about stuff that has nothing to do with the subject of this vid. So, a huge miss, I'm afraid.
To teach without a personal relationship? Totally inhuman! The AI also does this! Just do press you the red (black, blue, etc.) button! The essence of teaching is, that your human self, your soul, is there.

Thanks for the idea! We sometimes sing songs with kids, but easy songs for children :)
