Light guard are for rookies. I run the ATC but is impossible to make boxes because you have those covers on the sides, and the HDS 2204 if you have the lights guards you can’t used the sides of the machine to make complex parts. And the RG 50 doesn’t have any of those new equipment.
Ah man u can tell he doesn't run a press everyday. Newbs always want to look at the gauges to make sure they have the metal on them. I have been running a brake for years. U just shove the metal back until u feel it on the gauges. In a factory environment they want u go move fast. Don't have time to look back and physically see if the metal is where it's suppose to be. U develop a feel for it when u have ran one enough.

I'm use to wearing gloves and set up in a manufacturing environment. Usually don't look back to see the gauges. U develop a feel for the machine, but this all may be new to him.

Omadas are pretty good with their dimensions.... And once they are warmed up and running for a while the hydraulics are pretty good..... But through in a different heat lot and nothing can fix a different consistency even bottom forming aluminum can give you a headache....
I run a HG8025 at work, it is consistent to .005. Only metal that is hard to bend on it is Diamond tread, which truly depends on where the punch lands on the diamonds to form your bend, can vary 8 degrees side to side. Regular steel and aluminum usually holds within a degree depending on the heat index when formed.
I think it depends on the bend. You should always follow the rules made by professionals. Sometimes there is way too little time and I think any unnecessary movement puts you in danger. We bought a similar unit. Cost was approximately $150,000 plus another $ 100,000 in tooling with every die you would need to do any bends you need. Although it was a little hard to learn, The guys in the shop love it and it is a very god brake, cheers.

I'm all for safety, but I ran a brake for over 10 years without guarding. You learn to respect the equipment and keep your limbs out. We have guarding on all of our machines now, and the process has slowed down a lot. Guarding is good, but I feel is unnecessary if you are smart and careful.
i run both an older unguarded 250 ton machine and a guarded 100 ton and i've never had an accident on it. If you respect the machine and not be a complete idiot there won't be a problem.
There is an active lightguard. Cleraly you can spot the laser at his left side. It's attached at the upper side. i don't believe that new cnc bending machine run without lightguard.

My favorite one is our shop is an old school mechanical " Chicago " although it can only do single angels at a time.... it is the most consistent machine in the shop..... I understand that accidents happen.... but wow only a spoiled brat would criticize a machine that doesn't have the most modern safety standards..... Perhaps you either go to work while under the influence of drugs or you don't belong in this field of work..... Perhaps clean up is a better job for you
the press doesn't care if you are wearing gloves or not it will smash your fingers just the same, gloves are not relevant running a brake press fucking idiot
Maybe while using the punch press but when I bend I do not wear gloves. I set a half inch gap or smaller so my fingers do not go between punch and die. Gloves will only get in the way especially working with smaller parts in my experience. Love this job!

I've been running an Hg for 6 years and I still look and make sure I have the metal on the guages
