I used to do that “pretend to be asleep so dad will carry me” thing too lmao. Eventually I grew out of it, but not because my dad figured out I was pretending. We just stopped coming home so late and usually I would forget it was an option when I got bigger.
I re-remembered that comfort when I got my wisdom teeth removed at 20, and got carried inside my house by dad after coming back from the dentist all woozy on painkillers. I honestly didn’t expect him to do it, even in my foggy state of mind, but it was such a lovely dose of nostalgia.
Honestly just came here to put some wholesome into this comment section. Have a nice day/night everyone!

When I was a kid I'd go to my grandparents house on the weekend to go to church with them. (I no longer attend, not Christian) I too would fake being asleep so that my grandpa would carry me to bed. Never really needed to, he would carry us awake or not lol. Also, one of my favorite childhood memories is him reading bedtime stories to me and my twin brother. Love my grandpa

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled, I had to be put on heavy anesthesia because my wisdom teeth were in my gums and were growing so sideways that they could never come out unless they drilled into my gum and pulled them out. I remember I got home and my mom couldn’t do much to help me since I was a gorilla teenager with how much taller and larger I was then her and leaning on her would topple her so I had to heavily drag my body on to my bed.

The "parents read my diary/poetry/etc" Was the exact thought that made me consciously choose to write any personal thoughts in my diary, and then later poetry and fan fiction in a different language than my first language. I've been learning English since i was 6, neither of my parents speaks it, so any of my personal writing is safe because even if one of them thinks to go through a diary or through my phone they won't understand any of it.

When I was younger, my parents would go out to eat most Saturdays after church. While they were at dinner, my siblings and I would play on the Wii in their bedroom. When we heard the garage door open, we would always hurry to go back to the main menu, eject the disk and put it away, turn off the TV, and put the input back to the AT&T cable one. I'm wondering if they knew we were playing the Wii. Don't exactly know how, but I just have a feeling.

I know strict controlling parents can be super toxic, but they motivate you to learn how to get away with things in secret, and that's been a very useful skill in life. My parents knew a lot of what I did but at one point they were slowly falling behind and only learned about half of the shit I did because I was willing to share it with them later once they were more chill people.

The pretending to be asleep lolol one time when I 6 years old I genuinely fell asleep on history class (sitting right in front of the teacher). I remember that, seconds before I lost conscience, a kid tried to wake me up, but my teacher said "no, let her be. It's fine". I was very happy to hear that it was fine, and then fell asleep right after (I had nightmares/hallucinations (?) every night until morning, so I was always sleepy and she knew). After a while, I woke up on my mom's arms, carrying me and my bag on the middle of the way to our home. I imediately started to faking my previously genuine sleep until home, when I "woke up" and smiled proudly "I was faking! Got'cha!". It's not a great story, but it's a wholesome memory I have with my mother

additionally, when i was in fifth and sixth grade, my friend and i had lots of secrets with each other. my friend would often talk about them in the backseat of my parents' car _loudly_ and it always freaked me out. that same friend also texted me "omg did you hear that [actor] was gay???" (we were both queer too, but i was very closeted at the time. i wasnt exactly subtle though) and my dad saw the text when he was waking me up. so after i had breakfast, he asked "who is [actor]" and i panicked and said i didnt know
and finally, the last one. in fifth grade, as mentioned before, i was very queer but very deep in the closet. i had posted about it on my social media, and my younger sibling found out about it. my sibling didnt know anything about what being queer meant or what outing was, so they loudly said to my mom "SHES BISEXUAL" (note, i no longer identify as bi, but at the time i did) and i FREAKED OUT. i got so scared. my mom brushed it off as "youre too young to know about that stuff." a year or two later, i _officially_ came out to her. she didnt care, and was surprised, which surprised me because, once again, _i was not subtle._ and then somehow my dad found out despite me never actually telling him. im really thankful for living in a supportive household because yikes

A lot of these seem to be floating between "snooping" and "dumb kid left evidence laying around". XD Many parents with more casual attitudes tend to shrug off the secret dirty drawings or the internet searches of their hormonally-charged teenagers, or for aiding in providing protection (like the mom who got her daughter on the Pill) without being obvious about it. Younger kids thinking they are being so sneaky about stuff like hidden treats...now that's just plain funny. XD

I am an uncle. My niece is around 16. She had a lot of Vore on her phone. If you don't know what that is, do not look it up. It is extremely awkward and I found it completely by accident when she handed me her phone to put in directions. She doesn't know I know. I tried to talk to her dad (my brother) about it. I was subtle saying "I saw something strange on her phone." and he just went "Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's a lesbian. I made peace with it awhile ago. I'll let her come out to me." I never mentioned it again, but it does make me laugh hysterically sometimes.

    • @rileysjonger4192
      @rileysjonger4192 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Vore is definitely weird but if it reassures you, it's not always a sexual thing. It's usually only a sexual thing for older age groups, like people in their late 20s. Sorta similar to furries. A lot of people just find comfort in the vore "genre", most likely due to mental illness/loneliness, or simple interest. But if what you saw was sexual... lmfao, need some eye bleach?
Also, what does he mean he "made peace with it a while ago"? Strange thing to say because being gay is completely normal.

When I was a kid, I thought my parents knew everything I did simply because they're my parents😂 I used to climb out of my window and walk on the drainage pipes. (Which were very unstable) I figured they knew I did that, but it wasn't until I started walking around the entire house(someone saw me and told my dad) that my parents found out😂 I think I was around 7 or 8?

There are worse ones saying the same thing as that translation, but that specific verse is a mistranslation referring to pedophilia (man lying with boy). Which in context makes the statement that both should be killed *really* disturbing.
Mind you, I figure any rational person not indoctrinated from childhood into that religion knows for a fact that the vast majority of the bible is utter nonsense and bullshit; self contradictory, mistranslated, and there are massive chunks (all of Romans for example, and anything by the Apostle Paul who is a blatant fraud in every sense of the word) that are outright forgeries added either in staggering ignorance or outright malice.
What I personally don't get though is... why Christianity? If you were raised in the religion I kinda get it, Episcopalians are pretty chill and there is some amount of draw to following an ancestral deity. If you weren't though, that's just an odd choice out of the blue to me, there are better deities that overall have a better and more specific connection to queer people; I'd think following a divine feminine deity is at the very least an obvious choice.

My toys kept getting lost because the bastard kept stealing them and hiding them. Often times my dad had to get the ladder to check on top of the really tall kitchen cabinets. I call it the bastard because it killed my fish. Destroyed my cloths by scratching the shit out of them. Cut dogs faces up. Constantly killed birds and other creatures. Would torture birds before capitating them and thought it was funny to watch my mom and dad step on the severed heads. Also one time I wanted to play on the computer but the bastard was petting a humming bird while sitting on the computer desk chair so the computer was off limits until the bastard moved. It was a 5 pound white cat that was the personification of pure evil.

As a kid I couldn’t sleep on car rides like my siblings. But I would close my eyes and pretend since my parents would always ask if we were asleep. I thought I was supposed to be asleep and wanted to make them think I was.
I assume they knew because I didn’t really overhear anything too crazy, just work discussions, a little family drama, and occasionally a comment about myself. Whenever we hit a particular patch of road near the house that was extra rough, I would know we were close to home and pretend to wake up and ask where we were. Whatever conversation they were having would stop and they would bring up something else like did I enjoy the trip or if I slept well. I tried to be inconsistent with when I would wake up but I was almost always on this same stretch of road. When we got home my siblings usually got carried in, but I would try to help with the luggage or anything else that they needed (I liked to get the mail too). But I always felt like I had been a part of the grownups conversation.

My therapist said that she had a feeling my mom knew I was trans. I haven't come out yet. I'm not ready to confront it, so I'm burying it deep down in my mind and trying to convince myself that I'm super sneaky and neither of them have a clue.
Also when I was 12, the mental illnesses activated so I posted a lot of self harm stuff on my private social media (just general thoughts of ending it). It turned out that my older cousin was following me and keeping mom up to date the whole time. I felt betrayed when I found out (about 14 I think), but looking back on it, I'm thankful my family had my back. Even if it *is* embarrassing.... Mental illness is no joke and I know that, but it still doesn't make it any less shameful for me to talk about in detail 🤷‍♂️
