THANK YOU..You made a old guy smile , laugh and shed a tear . I did rabbits ,chickens and raised bed gardens with my family when they were young .. The work was hard but the togetherness is worth it all . I taught them all of this plus to love the great outdoors. Hunting , fishing , shooting ,and camping . Nights around a campfire under a million stars . Little one chasing lightnin bugs and a distant whipperwill singing . They are grown now and live in cities but as they start families of their own I hope they find their way back to the solitude and self reliance of rural America.

This actually brought tears to my eyes. Such a big inspiration to a beginner homesteader like myself. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with every project that needs to get done, but the best part is seeing everything you’ve actually accomplished. Love this!

Extremely inspirational, I moved to our 28 acres about 4 months ago. Fully wooded lot, just finished cutting out my clearing today. Now I gotta clean all the trees up.
I am very grateful to see your story. This video fills my soul and makes me feel so warm. I am from Brazil and have lived in Charlotte-NC since 2016 ... I say that nothing compares to living in the countryside. My parents raised me and my brothers surrounded by endless types of fruit trees, chickens on a small farm as owners. I miss them so much, I miss the smell of rain when I touch the ground, I miss hearing the rooster's noise in the early morning and I mainly miss my mother calling me and asking me to bring a knife, tool or even a basket to harvest some fresh vegetables in the yard. Today I discovered that when I was young I felt a little irritated by interrupting anything I was doing when she asked me to. I miss my mom and dad so much. This is the true purpose of life! Our heavenly father Jehovah created us to have a good life with our loved ones, to care for the earth and raise our children.I wish you abundant love, contentment and protection from God for your family. May God bless you with any desire in your heart.Dani
I don't even know your family but I'm proud of you all. The American dream being lived. Hardships come and go. Family is forever. You've done it. Well done. I envy you all.
What an immense and glorious legacy you are building for your children. What an amazing childhood you are giving them. Kudos on all you efforts and, should you ever feel overwhelmed, remember… Your children are watching you and learning via your example. God bless you and yours, always.
We used to live in an urban suburb. Now we live in a rural suburb. You inspire my family to go beyond and be self sustainable. Family above all! Keep doing what you are doing and inspiring. Oh thank you SO MUCH J for this amazing comment. Wow!! You are the reason we share our lives online. We are super passionate about being a small part of helping people return to the land! All the best!
I'm so happy for you all. I also just sold everything from Pearland, Tx and bought 10 acres in Missouri for the tall full grown trees 🌳 and pine trees. I was nervous but I took that step. HERE WE GO 😀 TO OUR NEW ADVENTURE
I've seen t.v. specials and docs that aren't as good as this! So inspiring! The way you showed your children about death was so refreshing. Moving to east Texas in July to make this a reality! 😊😊
I have learned a lot from all the channels I watch. The hardest lesson came to me as more a surprise than a real thought. I need to explain in short simplest ways I can deliver so lets see if I can. I think like a man. I am seventy three, married twice... seven years each. I did my hitch in the service and also didn't excel in that but for different reasons n best explained on its own. I also tried a relationship and after fourteen years knew that wasn't smart either for me. I liked the idea of a team and kids bouncing off the walls. I just never found a team that wanted me. I started in life with a tremulous start first losing mom then finding a dad that didn't want me and you know what I figured out after that many years.... you are really a pattern of how your brought up. How do you know when to say your sorry or when to give a hug when you have never ever witnessed one in your life. Army isn't about hugs an viet nam never gave me one so I really had no business trying something I never knew anything about. As a mechanic in the wilderness of alaska out back, working by myself, I made a few fortunes and a few mistakes that well reduced the fortunes to zero again. I could fix anything but a broken heart. I could weld anything but a crack in our relations and when I married they did try to change me. I resisted and so I can only watch how others did it. I do wish we had the internet then as I grew with it. Now loaded with friends I feel the loneliness of not having a reunion. I sure do like what you kids did and will go on to do. Wealth is a happy warm heart.
But not even a single thx to our beautiful savior yeshua/jesus christ. So many lost ppl. Without our savior in your life, you're lost. He's the light, and truth. And NOBODY will go unto the father without going through our savior yeshua/jesus christ.
This is by far the most uplifting and inspirational video I’ve ever come across for aspiring homesteaders. And trust me, I’ve seen MANY. I love everything about this video, and how you talked about this life. Thank you for sharing your struggles and accomplishments 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@BetterTogetherLife I’m just seeing this, but thank you so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 it’s definitely the truth, and you guys have helped me so much, keeping up my motivation and determination 💜
I watched this first on my own. Then called my partner and watched it again with him. Extremely inspiring! Our goal is to retire in the next 5 years and do homesteading, too. We're just paying up some remaining debts and then we're good to go. We have a 4-month old baby boy now, and we aim for him to live in a beautiful farm rather than in a noisy, polluted city.

What a beautiful video. I love the symbiotic relationship with ALL members of the homestead. The pigs cleared the land, saving harsh equipment from destroying trees and important life. Such a calming environment. Everyone is thriving (well maybe not the past pigs, chickens, or rabbits). Great video.
The third chapter I am watching of Better Together Life, by far the best youtube channel I have watched. It's so refreshing and real. The voice of the narrator is so cozy that makes you want to listen to her all night. These people are the core of what America is about. Where are they? Texas. It makes me so jealous, I feel like I want to move tomorrow with my entire family. Thank you, guys.
I was always searching for converting our woods into pasture until I found this video here. Made me motivate myself and thinking moving with my lovely wife and my incoming baby. I might as well quit my job and start living in a farm and live as healthy as you. God Bless and thank you for motivating me!
Well thank you Eli. That means a lot. And yes, unfortunately we did see these last three years coming. We bought our property back in 2015. So I was a little early. Haha. But our goal has always been to Eliminate Stress, and Embrace Freedom!
Congratulations. We just moved from our 5 acre homestead that I loved so much. Due to my husbands health we needed to move closer to doctors and hospitals. We started late, we were both in our 50’s, and worked very hard to make it a home. I, so wish, we would have started when we were younger. I love watching young parents with their children, build a homestead and what you are teaching your children is priceless. I love watching your channel.
Oh Cindy, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! You can still homestead in the city or suburbia. Plant some tomatoes and cucumbers and bake some yummy sourdough!! Praying for God’s super natural healing for your husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was having a really grouchy day. I laughed and cried watching your video and my hope in America was restored. God bless you and America 🇺🇸 You have a absolutely beautiful family.
Love, love, love we want more I’m in my 60’s and single(now),but I wish I could do this, please continue feeding me with your videos this is exciting to me as if l were their....
Well of course we will be.... but you are still so young!!! You can do something like this even now. Or at least start learning to bake some sourdough bread and sauerkraut. You will love it!!!!!!
I’ve a small garden about 30 feet. Watching you guys was so uplifting it’s made my heart smile . Your amazing family and how you all pull together is so inspirational. I have a patch at the bottom of the garden after seeing what you have done I’m going to turn it into a vegetable garden . Thank you so much I look forward to seeing your videos soon xxxx
Oh, my goodness! God bless you for doing this look back and inspiring us all - who haven't completely crossed over the homestead journey. Thank you! Beautiful work putting this together!!!
Central Texas is a special place. I'm moving back to Comanche County after years of being in DFW. Feels like a dream getting 6 acres to myself. I hope yall enjoy! Farm looks great.
Oh my gosh, the pigs!! I was cheering and laughing right along with you. My husband and I are looking for our own piece of heaven to live out the rest of our lives. We're starting late, but hey, better late than never. Thank you for the inspiration.
Fantastic video! My husband and I just moved onto our homestead property 10 months ago. We both work full time jobs while building our homestead from raw land. Sometimes we feel frustrated with how long projects take to reach our goals and this video really helped put the perspective of live in the moment and keep striving towards our goal of self sufficiency. Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh, man! I feel this. Things do take a long time. But when you commit to doing some work every day/ every week, you’ll be astonished at what you’ve accomplished by the end of a year.
This was so beautiful 🥺 I teared up when the kiddos helped with the little burial. It's sweet to honor a life, no matter how small, and they were champions for participating 💕
Beautiful video. Made me tear up. We are just starting out building our 5 acre homestead and are already feeling completely overwhelmed. That last quote was so encouraging. Thank you!
That was just great. Proud of you all for hanging in there. What you've done is huge. I know I've been in your shoes. We had horses to . Little by little is best. Learning so much. Wonderful for your kids. Brilliant well done. Loved your voice. Keep going!
For fenceposts, you don't have to mix concrete in a wheelbarrow, just pour it in the hole while having a hose to wet it down slightly as it goes in the hole. It will harden up just fine. I've been a building contractor for 35 years.
Your video is most encouraging, thank you. We have a 2 acre piece of land that we are developing/landscaping and growing various orchards. We will eventually build and move over there, but at the moment we only get to work on it once a week. For me at 60 plus it is mostly overwhelming. So true....I easily overestimate what I can accomplish in a day, underestimate what I can do in a year....
Somebody tell me why I love this video so much! Maybe it's because I want this so bad. I dream about this every day. watching this is exactly what I needed for that last bit of confidence. after 8 years of saving and planning. I'm now a few anxiety-filled months away from taking this plunge. This has inspired me, I now feel like I can really do this. thank you guys so much.
Oh wow Brandon, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! For real man you CAN DO IT!!!! Never give up, work your tail off, and you can make it happen! In fact, if you want to send me an email at bettertogetherlife@gmail.com I will send you a free copy of my eBook, "Get Off Your Tail & Homestead"! Thanks again for the amazing comment and GO GET IT!!!!!!!!!
What an incredible transformation! I love your daughter walking in the woods totally decked out in her dressup clothes. Your kids look like they are having an incredible childhood!
I admired you guys strength and vision. More of us off every race needs to leave the city and live more self sufficient. This feels my soul and bring back so many memories of living on the farm.
Very enjoyable to watch video! Didn't skip a single moment that's how enjoyable your video is. Cant wait to see more of your adventure and the 10 years to come progress!🥰
American people are working people and they want for nothing because they are blessed by God in heaven. God bless your American family merry Christmas!
Hope is good and we will be praying for you to grow your homestead and family for future! God bless you all in Christ Jesus of Nazareth name amen Hallelujah!
I loved watching these! I truly want to do the same with my family of 6. We are in San Marcos and know that the time will happen in God’s timing. I almost cried when y’all got the pigs in the trailer, I felt so attached to that moment. What a great way to learn the true meaning of homesteading. PS. I’m from Houston myself and understand the desire to separate and create that sense of freedom the land can provide. Y’all are amazing!
No way??? Kelly and I both graduated from Texas State in San Marcos! 2005 and 2006. That’s awesome! Thank you very much Richard for your kind words, you can do it!!! I promise, if we can do it so can you!!!
@@BetterTogetherLife that’s awesome I graduated in 2009 myself. I’m originally from the Houston area but came here for college and met my wife and the story continues to grow daily from there. It’s such a nice area and we are getting excited about the potential opportunities to get started. We are working some things out as we are more likely to partner with my family to get a larger selection of land but I can tell you that I can already hear the chickens clucking in the background! I look forward to watching more of your family’s journey and will certainly keep y’all posted. If you are ever in the San Marcos area don’t hesitate to reach out.
I'm very proud of you two. What you've been able to accomplish as a team is simply amazing and encouraging. Keep it up. Keep sharing. Keep loving. I can't wait to see what you do next.
Please watch this video about generator safety if you use portable generators th-cam.com/video/I1jT3ANENvI/w-d-xo.html I just hope people who use portable generators are careful. Thank you. I’m just trying to be nice. Great videos of yours.

Honestly this made me cry. We move to our property in June and will be doing exactly what you did but on only 3 acres. I'm so terrified because we have kids also but seeing this I just can't wait to be where you are
After watching this video, i feel like i should be doing so much more and enjoy the nature more often... You guys are an amazing inspiration for those like me that are trapped in the city. Keep up with the good work! Sorry if my english is not perfect, i tried my best :) Much love from Portugal
very natural energy with these two. im afraid that some see this lifestyle online and think it is for them, but lack the patience and resilience to experience what you two have. savor your successes keep it up :)
I have been with you from just before you all moved out of your city home. You all have come along way, hard work, cute and bruises, to lonely days apart. Cant wait to see the next 2 years! Love from Kentucky, stay safe
YEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!! Sue we totally remember you!!!! Thank you thank you for watching and commenting. It means the world to us! Also, if you have any other social media accounts..... it would be super helpful if you could share this video! It really helps to get the video a little boost! 😁😁😁
Hi! We stumbled upon your channel tonight lying awake researching a project we are stuck On for our 7acre homestead here in Tennessee. Found this video...amazed. Encouraged. Overjoyed for your and, honestly, for us too. We can do this, and we are so thankful you made this video! Well done!!!
Love the energy and effort to make this work. Other than taking pigs to the slaughter house, how do you make a living to pay taxes, insurance and other things. I hope you end up going the solar route. Thank you for sharing and wish you all the best!!!
Hi Phil and Alex!!!! So sorry that I never saw this comment. I literally just found out that you can sort comments and I am finding all of these older ones. Hope y'all are doing great, I think you've spoken to Kelly over on IG in the past right? Thanks again for your kind words!

Wow! Everyone should watch your videos and this one in particular. You're setting an example for everyone who dreams of making America great; your commitment, you cheerfulness, your desire to give your family the best that love and hard work can accomplish. Little by little, chapter by chapter, you're forging a family with everything that unites you and all that keeps you grounded. Congratulations!
I can only imagine the time and effort it took to capture and create this video--the compilation was both lovely and inspirational!! ❤ Side-worthy note: @bettertogetherwife, you are an excellent narrator!
Im so hopeful seeing more and more folks like yourselves who are seeking the value of land stewardship and connection to the earth through homesteading.
This is the real life , among the nature , not the city between four walls feeling depressed , live your life as you will die tomorrow ❤ , life is so beautiful only away from all negative energy
Loved watching this and hearing your voice Kelly!! I'm amazed at what y'all have done by hand so far and can tell you from experience that your children will NEVER forget the lessons they are learning in these endeavors. We should get together & y'all should join us the next time we work cattle!
Cathy...... YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! Yes yes yes!!! Ok this is Beau, but I am answering for Kelly. We would love to learn about cattle from y’all!!!!!!!!
WOW !!! What a great video! It's amazing what you have accomplished in such a short time as homesteaders. It's inspiring to see how you have successfully integrated every member of your family into your project. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much Mr Cleo!!!!!! It is getting fun that’s for sure! Now we just need to survive until we are done with these 100+ degree days here in Texas.
What's even more amazing is how much positivity your comment section has shown. I've been scrolling for a minute and literally everyone is in agreement. That is a miracle
Your family has Accomplished so much! I really enjoy ur channel & always look forward to ur family's homestead adventures! A request....Please do a vid on what changes u would Have made in the build of ur house if u had known.... I'm currently in the process of my build & would like some tips.... I absolutely LOVE ur floor plan & it's exactly like yours! You guys have great taste! The only difference in my build is, a large shed will be added & making into a large mudroom. So I would enter thru the smaller/mudroom shed into the kitchen. Still working out the details. Any advice would be Greatly appreciated! Thanks again for sharing ur homestead with us!
Absoluetly! We will be working on some more simpler edits here in August.... and then in September we will be making a lot more videos because it won't be SOOOOO HOT!
you talked like a professional narrator. i can see how much you put not only into the project, but into this video as well. you have a new subscriber. pls keep me posted.
So refreshing and helpful when everyone is involved. In my case I am working a full time job and trying to homestead on my own. I'd love to have a wife and kids who were interested.
I'd do a 750 day review but it would be more like 10 years and yall would be bored to hell watching me fail at everything. I keep going cause i don't have any self control and i love pissing money down the drain lol
if i ever did this, i think i might become a vegeterian, or buy meat from a shop, i could never kill an animal i raised to eat it. i still have trauma from when my grandma cooked one of the rabbit she kept
This is the coolest, reality, of a homestead build. You guys are doing great. Am so glad to have been able to follow your adventure, and see your accomplishments. Remember the journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step. Keep up the great dreams. ❤ and🙏 for you and your family.
We just bought 22 acres of land in NE TX. We want to at some point move onto the land and do some homesteading but that won't happen until my dad passes. He is 70 and lives with us in our home. We still want to work pur full-time jobs (I work from home) and live on our land. I love animals way too much to do animal husbandry. The hubbie said he would do it...with chickens. We are starting to read up on raising them now for when the time comes. Watching your videos is helping me learn.
You guys are such natural content creators. You’ve absolutely been given a gift and you use it well to bless others. Be so encouraged guys. (Doing this with you) I know how hard this can be at times. But you’re doing everything legit right. We all love you guys. Keep it up!!

I've been told by some ranchers in Texas that after they cut down the junipers on their land, natural springs and streams started forming. Apparently those trees are thirsty.

An even easier way to load pigs. Make the trailer part of there pen a week before slaughter and put there feed in the trailer.
Absolutely! We just had to borrow this trailer so we didn’t have that much time unfortunately.
But correct that would have been the best way to do it.
With cows and horses they make a narrow fence area with the back piece moving forward as they do to box them into going forward for room.... maybe that will help keep them moving forward....
I really love how the narration is both positive and realistic. And it's very true that progress while raising a toddler is almost agonizingly slow.

So awesome to have small kids to not get caught up in video games but actually learn to be PRODUCTIVE! Again, awesome jobs guys! 👍🏽
Oh thank you!!!!! This is such a great comment!!! :)
I just sold my house in Houston and purchased 6.5 acres so this is so inspirational love y’all have a blessed day!
I was always searching for converting our woods into pasture until I found this video here. Made me motivate myself and thinking moving with my lovely wife and my incoming baby. I might as well quit my job and start living in a farm and live as healthy as you. God Bless and thank you for motivating me!
Oh wow Dan!! This is so awesome, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
This is a family of those who saw what was to come & planned around it . Good on you
Well thank you Eli. That means a lot.
And yes, unfortunately we did see these last three years coming. We bought our property back in 2015. So I was a little early. Haha.
But our goal has always been to Eliminate Stress, and Embrace Freedom!
@@BetterTogetherLife you’re smarter than most. Keep at it
Congratulations.
Oh THANK YOU sooooooo much!!!!!
We can do this. Homestead life is about continual problem solving, flexibility and making changes and always exploring and learning you can do this.
@Lola joy Awesome! Good luck in your journey. Your are never too old!
30 feets better than no feet
Oh wow THANK YOU Lizzie!!!!!!!! So glad you enjoyed it. And thank you for even watching! :)
Keep going!
Thank you sooooooo much!!!!
Yay, LOVE IT!!!!!! Go and grab your dream!!
I have goosebumps and tears in my eyes. This is so encouraging. Thank you for posting! Congratulations on so many wins.
Oh wow, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen
Am I the only who think that the video was too short. I enjoyed every second of it, thanks for sharing!
Oh that is so sweet to say, THANK YOU!!!!!
What an incredible transformation! I love your daughter walking in the woods totally decked out in her dressup clothes. Your kids look like they are having an incredible childhood!
Thank you so much, they do love it here!
Oh wow, THANK YOU!!!!! I just pinned your comment. You are AMAZING THANK YOU!!!!!
@@BetterTogetherLife Thank YOU for a wonderful video!
American people are working people and they want for nothing because they are blessed by God in heaven. God bless your American family merry Christmas!
Hope is good and we will be praying for you to grow your homestead and family for future! God bless you all in Christ Jesus of Nazareth name amen Hallelujah!
Trust in Jesus Christ
If you are ever in the San Marcos area don’t hesitate to reach out.
amazing... when you got the pigs in finally the joy on your faces was almost choking me up...god bless
Not only are you exploring something new but you’re teaching your kids as they grow how to sustain themselves on their own if they ever needed to
I'm very proud of you two. What you've been able to accomplish as a team is simply amazing and encouraging. Keep it up. Keep sharing. Keep loving. I can't wait to see what you do next.
DaddyKirbs!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man you are THE BEST!!!!!
Let’s have DaddyKirbs in our 3 year Timelapse video helping us setup some bees!!!!! 🤣🤣
Please watch this video about generator safety if you use portable generators th-cam.com/video/I1jT3ANENvI/w-d-xo.html I just hope people who use portable generators are careful. Thank you. I’m just trying to be nice. Great videos of yours.

This just became my fav TH-cam video! I laughed with your mishaps and happy cried w your victories. Rooting for you and praying for you all.
Get OUT! Alexandra, hands down kindest and most encouraging comment today. THANK YOU! And thanks for taking time to comment. It means the world to us!
Honestly this made me cry. We move to our property in June and will be doing exactly what you did but on only 3 acres. I'm so terrified because we have kids also but seeing this I just can't wait to be where you are
You are going to LOOOOOVE IT!!!!!! And so will your kids!
You will clearly see their confidence begin to grow and grow and GROW!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to see a real family doing stuff like this. Not a business. Just to be together a live life.
After watching this video, i feel like i should be doing so much more and enjoy the nature more often... You guys are an amazing inspiration for those like me that are trapped in the city. Keep up with the good work! Sorry if my english is not perfect, i tried my best :) Much love from Portugal
YOU are amazing!!!! Your English is PERFECT!!!!
Wow, thank you so so much!! You made our day with your comment. THANK YOU!!!!!!
It makes me so happy to see families like this, God bless you for raising your kids right!
very natural energy with these two. im afraid that some see this lifestyle online and think it is for them, but lack the patience and resilience to experience what you two have. savor your successes keep it up :)
Oh wow, THANK YOU!!
Hi! We stumbled upon your channel tonight lying awake researching a project we are stuck
On for our 7acre homestead here in Tennessee. Found this video...amazed. Encouraged. Overjoyed for your and, honestly, for us too. We can do this, and we are so thankful you made this video! Well done!!!
You got it! 7 acres is a great size to be self sufficient.
@@BetterTogetherLife it's all good, friends! I hope you are thriving and still loving every minute of the journey! Yes, I'm sure Alex messaged Kelly! keep it up!
Thank you Valerie!!! And yes.... Kelly is the best!
I can't understand why anyone clicked thumbs down?!? This is so inspirational - living the American Dream! Thanks for sharing!!!
Your commentary on this video was just beautiful. We are coming up on 1 year homesteading and you just said it all.
Im so hopeful seeing more and more folks like yourselves who are seeking the value of land stewardship and connection to the earth through homesteading.
1000% agree with you Sasha!!!! And also, if we can do this..... ANYONE can!!!!!!
lookn good, 1st years are always getting to know the land and settling in, no doubt you'll achieve a lot over the next few years
So true!
This is the real life , among the nature , not the city between four walls feeling depressed , live your life as you will die tomorrow ❤ , life is so beautiful only away from all negative energy
Nothing short of inspirational ! !
All of your family's hard work really shows.
Oh my goodnes, WOW!!!!!!! That is so kind of you. THANK YOU!!!!!!! :)
So beautiful, just life at it's finest. Kids in the garden and playing in dirt, and animals to raise.
Omg I love it. This is our plan. We just bought 6.5 acres of raw land and it is so neat to have a vision.
Well done my wife and I are doing the same here in Australia and it sure is tough for the first few years ..... but so worth it
Sooooooo worth it!!!!!!!
THIS is the American dream! THIS! May God continue to bless you!!!!
Absolutely, thank you so much!
Ah thank you Michael!! That means a lot. I am amazed at how this video has given many people that little inspiration that they need! 😁

You’re lucky to be able to work with your son,you already have him trained the way you want him to work.
Crying 😭 this was so good!!! The part about being overwhelmed and losing sight of how much you’ve accomplished really hit me deep!
I really admire You guys. I wanna to get a piece of land and start to be a homesteader. please keep posting videos so i can learn more from you
Absolutely!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting Betty!!
You guys are doing a great job. Perfect way to raise children, it all has a meaning.
This is the coolest, reality, of a homestead build. You guys are doing great. Am so glad to have been able to follow your adventure, and see your accomplishments. Remember the journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step. Keep up the great dreams. ❤ and🙏 for you and your family.
Oh Kathrine we are also so glad to have had you here with us also!!!!!! It means A LOT! 😀
That was the best thing I’ve watched on TH-cam in ages. 👍😀. well done on all your hard work, your fantastic attitude and your success.
