      Exactly! there are a couple units I think people are sleeping on since some other units are just glaring strong.

    sky ray better than Hammer head post nerf you saying ...but that is only if railguns get a nerf and not just other stuff. like the tactics stuff you guys deserve to grow big

    Regarding Prototype systems.
    I have a setup for a Bork'an Coldstar Commander that looks like it could work.
    I call it Commander Brrt Mor Da'ka.
    It's centered around the the Bork'an warlord trait and signature system.
    You take the High Output Burst Cannon and the Prototype Burst Cannon.
    The Signature system makes two weapons +1 to wound at half range, 11 inches for the burst cannons with the Bork'an sept ability.
    The trait improve it to ap -1 and mortal wounds on 6s
    So with montka, that prototype burst cannon is going to be wounding gravis armor on 2s at ap -3 (ignores light cover to boot thanks to cold star) and likely to proc 1 or 2 mortals in addition.
    There's literally nothing in the game that is going to like getting hit by it.
    With the bork'an sept strat, no special rules are resisting it. Not invuls, not feel no pains, not dam -1.
    It's 4-5 wounds (including mortals) with low variance on something like a relic contemptor dreadnought.
    or 7 more likely 8 dead necron warriors.
    It also does things like allow you to take out a Nightbringer on turn 2, 3 wounds that break the phase limits is likely, and 4 is decently possible.
    Throw in the high output burst cannon and you stand a chance of shredding pretty much anything it's pointed at.

    Stealth suits have a good statline and kit to tie up shooty units for fairly cheap points 75 pts for 3 t4 3+sv -1 to hit 2w. Just ad 1 shield drone to get them to their destination and instigate migranes.

    Dw02 burst cannon can put more wounds through the armies that limit wounds for a round, ctan, gazkul, abadon, etc.

    I don't know if it's because of data slate updates, but neither the tetra nor the piranha have a armor pierce 3 damage 2 shot, the broadsides don't pierce invulnerable saves, so you are not getting the same thing, with broadside railguns, even if it is a better damage spread, and lastly broadsides aren't core, so they don't benefit from the vast majority of command auras

    The novasurge plasma rifle is quite nice on a Tau sept commander. Having one shot with that AP4 and no invuls on a unit that hit 2+ with a free hit/wound re-roll is nice. Leta you with high reliability remove those last few wounds from something or kill that last crucial model in a unit (less so now with AoC against marines though).
    The DW-02 burst cannon is nice simply for it's stats and rules to ignore wound cap/phase, transhuman and FnP.
    Stim injector is really good at a crisis suit with shield and possibly iridium armour. 10p to decrease amount of suits you loose by one is good.
    The thermo-flamer is good on a melee oriented commander with precision of the hunter. Mass amount of DMG 2 attacks is always good, AP-2 is decent and S4 is mitigated by ful re-rolls. And with the gauntlet you can punch big holes in an enemy line as well.
    The rest though... Most of them feel too expensive for what they do

    You guys forgot to mention the Prototype system combo for Melee Tau Commander! Thermonuetronic Projector Flamer (25 pts total) + Onnager Gauntlet (1CP) = 1d6+2 Melee Flamer Shots and 4 Strength 12 AP -4 Shots at WS 3+ (2+ if Farsight is nearbye with a +1 Buff)! I recently used it to heroically intervene a Black Templar Warlord dead!

    Nice overview, but a couple of mistakes when talking about the Tetras:
    1) They only have 2 pulse rifles in addition to the markerlights, where's the -3ap weapon you mentioned ?
    2) Read Nachmund Data requires an Infantry unit, however the Tetras are good for Engage points, as they are a very cheap vehicle.
    Also as this is pre-nerf I'm surprised you didn't mention the air fragmentation projectors.
    You comparison of the skyray damage output was way off, look at average damage not max damage potential (which will never happen with the skyray). Average shots is 3 per skyray, average damage per damage roll is 4 compared to the max 6 you mentioned. skyray has lower strength and ap so is less likely to get the hit through. Overall skyray does less damage than the railgun, however it has a nice stratagem to fire out of line of sight (well it was good pre balance dataslate nerf to indirect).
    Would be great to see what you think how things change after the balance dataslate update.

      The seeker missile strat is unaffected by the indirect nerf. The indirect nerf affects weapons that have the ability to shoot without LoS. Seeker missiles lack that rule, the strategem allow them to shoot without LoS but the weapon still lack indirect fire rule.

      @@eldoriath1 With the stratagem is the weapon firing at a target it does not have LoS to ? If yes it falls under the balance dataslate rules about weapons that fire at targets they do not have line of sight to.

      I would say it doesn't because the rule has a way of defining what and indirect weapon is. The strategem is what allows the weapon to fire outside LoS, not the weapon. So the weapon has no rules to fire outside LoS, which is how an indirect fire weapon is classified.
      "INDIRECT FIRE WEAPONS
      An Indirect Fire weapon is one that can target units that
      are not visible to the bearer (e.g. mortars, smart-missile
      systems, impaler cannons, etc.). If such a weapon targets
      a unit that is not visible (i.e. no models in a target unit
      are visible to the firing unit when you selected it as a
      target), then each time an attack is made with that weapon
      against that target this phase, worsen the Ballistic Skill
      characteristic of that attack by 1 and add 1 to any armour
      saving throws made against that attack."
      But I do appreciate this would need some form of FAQ. But for me it's clear that the strategem is unaffected because the weapon can't fire outside LoS beside from this strategem.

      @@eldoriath1 The balance dataslate doesn't affect an indirect fire weapon. It affect any shooting which is firing at a target it can not see.
