Having met Irene back in 1990 and had the good fortune not only to listen to her sing but after singing she came and said Hello. We chatted for a while, this was 32 years ago and still Irene remains pleasant memory.

I was saddened to hear about Irene's passing. Revisiting her music brings back early memories, way before she was famous. We knew each other from high school in Hong Kong - I was a few years older and a few grades above her. I still remember us taking the ferry across to Wanchai to get to school. Those were truly days of innocence...
