I started doing plastic canvas about 17 years. I stopped doing there for a while and now that I started it back. This video has helped me refresh on how to do it.
You can freehand anything you would like or you can trace color sheets, or any picture. Trace it on the canvas with a sharpie...very lightly trace, no need to black it in, just outline the picture and fill in with colors of your choice! Hope that helps...
Letters are funny...you have to make large as possible or sometimes difficult to read...the stitches all run the same direction so sometimes makes the words funny UNLESS they are few and very large!
could you make a video? of how to add on the pattern's on the canvas. I know this is alot other stiches as well. I also agree with another person where do get the instructional video's. and can you also how to make letters..
Pictures have to be sized to fit your canvas...lay canvas centered over your pic and lightly trace with a sharpie...pick colors of yarn and let the fun begin! =)
Not much...just the medium you use to work on...needlepoint is usually very flexible/less stiff and is done on a frame and rolled on the ends while you create...this plastic canvas is stiff and not usually suitable from sewing into something like a pillow or such...it is usually framed when done...Hope that helps....
Yes...permanent sharpie...you need to keep hands clean and wash often...sometimes the 'chemistry' gets in the way and some of the black will come off because of sweat from the hands...if so keep hands clean and dry...otherwise it usually does well...have to be careful with whites and light colors, if hands sweat a lot...hope that helps!
Just google Texas flag and pick the one you like...when printing if does not come out the right size you will need to enlarge it on a copier...sorry, nothing I have at the moment is scanned or I would email to you! =/
