It's sad that these kids have been brainwashed into thinking you need social services to help keep you out of crime. That being a criminal makes you a victim. The former gang member, Jennifer Blake, knows that the problem isn't the government or the police. But a culture of victimhood, excuses, cynicism, and a complete lack of taking responsibility for your own actions.

Why was the presenter surprised when the teenagers said they wanted more police on the street.
The reason why we have these gang issues is due to lack of beat police & stop & search is must nowadays.

If a parent don't know where the children are or getting up to they are bad parents lol

A lot of these kids feel like they're on the outside of society before they're even in their teens. Lost in education, bad home life, no direction, no understanding of what life should or could be. That feeling can manifest in anger and anti social behavior. A hatred of what they feel can never be theirs and no understanding of how to change life for the better. Magnify that with gang life and knife crime and you've got a terrible mess. I feel so bad for these kids.

30 years ago we were told not to smack our children and to not be too concerned with discipline this opened the doors to disrespect and misbehaviour. At that time my son was 14 years old and said to me that I was not allowed to smack him and would report me if I did! Incidentally, I have never smacked my kids as I have always taken the time to listen and help them. None of my kids have been in trouble with the law and also raise their kids in a similar manner to me. They all have working parents and respect their elders. It's a fact that single parent families are often disfunctional and usually have at least one child that has autism or behaviour problems. It's not racist by observing that the kids in this video are all black! Black people are killing each other!

Inviting millions of people from less socially developed parts of the world can only reduce the overall quality of life for everyone else. G'day,
Apparently, it is not the brave individuals who arm themselves but the scared, the unconfident, the anxious ones with low self-esteem ; likely they're ones who never recieved enough Cuddles, back when they were supposed to be being Breastfed....(?).
The concept that "The State" has an obligation to prevent all Crimes from occurring is completely invalid..., what "The State" has an obligation to do is to pursue and arrest and try those alleged to have committed a Crime - and to do that with sufficient dogged determination that everybody understands that, in the long run, nobody ever "gets away with" anything....; because as Geoffery Chaucer put it, in The Nuns' Priest's Tale, "Modre will Out..., Modre WILL Out !", as the Karmic Feedback-Loops within the Kosmic-Scoreboard Effect inexorably even the Slate - in the long run.
The only people who genuinely "feel a need" for ever harsher Laws and longer Sentences, and openly Fascist PoLice-State Protocols ("Random Stop & Search", Warrantless 'Phone-Taps & Internet Surveillance, Arrest & Detention without Charge, indefinite extension of Prison Sentences without Trial, etcetera etcetera, ad infinitum, ad nauseum...) are those utterly Godless Atheists who cannot bring themselves to trust their Sacred Laws of blindly cascading Chaotic Chance to keep themselves safe ; and therefore they vote to spend other people's Taxes to fund an endless system of Spies and Thugs and Armed Enforcers to detect and combat and suppress and defeat and arrest and imprison whatever Paranoid Persecution Fantasies the quivering Godless Coward can dream-up, of which to be permanently terrified.
    Oh, ye, of LITTLE Faith....
I habitually carry a folding Lock-Knife with a 4-inch Blade, in a belt-Pouch, both because that way it can be accessed and opened one-handed (while the other hand holds the measured bit of String etc, to be cut...) ; but more importantly, the fact that the Knife is carried visibly means that any Charge of "Carrying a Concealed Weapon" is impossible to prosecute - because clearly the Knife is being carried as a Tool, not hidden for use as a possible Weapon.
Here in NSW, Australia, it's illegal to possess a Knife within School Grounds, and it's illegal to "weild a Knife in a Public Place...", so in a Restaurant the customers may legally use Steak-Knives to eat with, but it's an offence if they wave the Blades at each people in any kind of a threatening manner...; it's lawful to possess ANY Knife if it is "for the preparation of Food..." (so walking around with a sheathed Samurai-Sword, or a Cavalry Cutlass, is perfectly permitted in Public Places, so long as one is also carrying a Watermelon and claims to be on the way to a Picnic...!), whereas meanwhile, a 1-inch Folding Blade on a "Rape-Whistle" type of Necklace-Pendant is a totally illegal Weapon - BECAUSE IT HAS NO POSSIBLE PEACEFUL PURPOSE, and because it is being carried expressly for the purpose of cutting and stabbing some other HUMAN BEING who is yet to be identified (ie the bearer is going Armed, with the full intention to commit an Assault upon a person, or persons, unknown).
It is not the size nor style of the Blade which determines it's Legal Status, y'see, but rather it's the intentions in the mind of the person who is in possession of the Knife which matters...
I'm a Vegetarian, and therefore I might want to skin an Apple so thus I carry a Knife, similarly, a Meateater might want to skin a Rabbit so they too may carry a Knife with which to prepare Food ; but if I was a cowardly paranoid Fantasist, and if I carried the same Knife in the identical Belt-Pouch, just(ifiably ?) so as to be able to pull it out and chop any hypothetical adversaries or attackers into unthreatening lumps of Mincemeat..., then it would be a Prohibited Weapon - because of what it was intended to be used to achieve.
Waiting until your Economy is unravelling, and then noticing that there's a whole generation of insecure anxious and otherwise aimless Angry Young Suburbanites who're all so scared of each other that they're trying to concealed-carry a Jim-Bowie Fantasy in order to feel a little bit braver in the Valley of the Shadow of the shattered Streetlamps...; and then responding by setting the Gendarmerie to harrass the entire neighbourhood - it seems like a highly counterproductive response to a deepseated problem which has it's roots in the piss-poor parenting which has become Pandemic since the advent of Television stopped people from paying attention to their Children, 50 or 60 years ago.
    Such is Life...
    Have a good one,
    ;-p
    Ciao !

With ignorance come poverty, you cant afford the good things living on benefits...you hungry u want to get money, money comes easily by selling drugs. You become a gang member, making money and now you can afford things but likely u loose life...

"The body politic should instead strive night and day, bending every effort to ensure that souls are properly educated, that they progress day by day, that they advance in science and learning, that they acquire praiseworthy virtues and laudable manners, and that they forsake violent behaviour, so that crimes might never occur." ~ Baha'i Faith

More police on the streets and when I say more I mean more. The British police need to take a trip to Rwanda. Its a police state. Police are everywhere with guns and they are not joking. Prison must mean punishment Those who need help should get it. Those who show no remorse should have their faces rearranged before they even get to court and that's just for starters. Criminals must be petrified of prison.
Parents take responsibility and keep your kids off the streets. The gov't needs to put resources into these communities. They have got to start funding these small community groups.

If the police on their jobs and when you call them instead of saying nothing like and do they have their hands tied maybe there be less crime on the street if they actually took action people that carry and nice for their own protection because the law does not help them you ever phone for a police officer you tell him it's an emergency request you over the phone for hours and then you have to go into a queue and you get the same old story the lines busy at the moment they keep you waiting on the phone for a long time and it's not free and then after half an hour they save you would like us to call you back no we need help now we've had threats made to us and due to the police not taking action houses get burnt down they were worn 3 days beforehand they feared for their safety it's so lucky she was rescued by the fire and they take the word of criminals they said they know who's committed the crime no he didn't commit the crime he got paid to to say it was him and the police know it and instead of working to solve it they just say there's not enough evidence if they would have knocked on the doors there was evidence a man saw the two youths pick up the two bags go into that building and come running out he thought it was strange when you tried telling the police that they tell you to shut up go away otherwise you'll be arrested and case is closed and then they want to know why people fear walking the streets why they carry knife because they are victim some of them and they're afraid

If you're going to send a black reporter to record a story in the dark, at least provide him with adequate lighting. The only way I knew he was in the scene was because I could see his teeth moving.

The woman even said they wait for things to get bad then chuck money at it like its some circus show. Stop and search so u can confiscate their money more like. Every time they talk about community and youth clubs suddenly the subject changes. Then your back to blaming parents, whatever the case it's too late if there's 20 in a gang and 1 fed doing neighbourhood watch.
