No, both can not be true. Babylon is not a mythological place but an actual city state...regardless of what has been written about it. Egypt and Greece are not myths either. Nice try though.@@Oj4y1
Thank God it did.. people always crying about something. Nothing should be returned to "where it originally was" especially if that place is the middle east. It gets sold and disappears for decades or worse blown up with dynamite and bulldozed saddest thing ever. Take these things somewhere they can be protected from man and weathering
That was a great review Stephanie. I’ve stood in front of this incredible structure but wondered about most of the things depicted on it? Your insights and knowledge are fantastic 🙏
No wood in Babylon? Mesopotamia is the most fertile land in history surrounded by 2 of the longest rivers in the world. There almost nothing that cannot be planted there, And still to this day.
Seen you on another channel about museum island and followed you here, shared this video about the gateway to my father and next city break Berlin because of your video, keep up the good work
Dear S... It was Mesopotamia... The land between two rivers.... And it is Iraq now and it is a place of Aden paradise.... Thus it is not about oil and desert... All the best
I concur, it was lush and beautiful place. teeming with life. THAT'S WHY the city is there. BUT, due to deforestation, - the people love cutting down trees for everything and burn wood like no tomorrow,- the desert kept growing until there is no turning back. SIMILAR thing happened to Egypt. Ancient Egypt was green and lush, teeming with all kinds of fish and birds. Trade up the Nile was the pride of Egypt as was the green reed that made Egypt famous.
Yes, isn't it? Many of the bricks were made in the 20th century as part of the restoration, but the animals are all original pieces, and the blue directly around them is original. If you look closely, you can see that the original blue is a bit more faded than the new blue. 🤓
Ishtar is Nimrod mother that’s where Easter come from she also had a child Tammuz with her son they challenged Yahweh and was destroyed and it’s all happening again
Hi barsoom43! Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question. "Mythology" means stories that groups of people use to explain how things came to be how they are. Pretty much every culture and historical religion has a mythology. 🙂
Thank you, Stephanie. I came here and subscribed your channel because of the same passion you have with the ancient world's history & antiquity (albeit sans the adequate knowledge in my part). Love your videos... ❤️ BTW, I found you from Radical Living 😁
Love history-however Christianity is not “mythology” -actually the Bible details Babylon and many other cultures -kingdoms, pagan gods and cities of the ancient world.

Babylon is spoken about much in the Bible and not as a mythological place but as an actual historical city state.
It was indeed a historical place. Also myths have been written about it. Both can be true.

She should have mentioned also how such a big and beautiful structure ended up in Germany. And why it was stolen from its ancient location.
That's all on my blog, take a look: 🤗 www.museums.love
Get your facts straight. It wasn't stolen. It was awarded to the German Empire by the Ottoman Empire that ruled over what is today Iraq.
@@mimamo it's not, it was stolen, nothing is 'awarded'
@@mimamo it was stolen by Germans in 1911 lol give it back

This was really interesting. Thanks so much.
Rad! Welcome! Enjoy!
Is it actually a reconstruction or just a full scale model based on the excavated pieces ?
Amazing how glazed brick has held its brilliant color over the centuries.

The oldest story written known to man kind
My country’s history was stolen. Long live Iraq❤️🇮🇶
Assyria, Assyrians =Babylonians = Mesopotamians
To the commentator.. you got 1 of your facts wrong, you said Christian myth when referring to some info on Babylon, however it is biblical facts!
How the fuck did the get it to Berlin?
Germans discovered it and restored it because the locals had no motivation to find it and let it rot underground for thousands of years.
Im Istar! IM HUMAN!!!
Not Christian mythology
Christian mythology? What part about Christianity is a myth?

Looting everything. Even a gate. This is Iraq property
She did say Christian mythology? Oh boy... Actual history. Also, it's the gate to hell btw. Be careful.

That gate belongs in Iraq.
Why is she giggling she's so unprofessional it hurts to listen to her. Funny she giggles when she mentioned its mentioned in the Bible🤨😒
Sorry you didn't like the video! Maybe you'll find others you enjoy more.
