Hey man you taught me how to shave 12 years ago from your videos. My father never showed me stuff like this and you really helped me. It means a lot to me.
same, bought a Mergress when they were rare and expensive as hen's teeth, then a Merkur Progress, realised both were great but the Progress was nicer and looked fantastic irl, never looked back. Thank you mantic59!
@@shavetutor My Mergress fell apart. I liked it but it was expensive and I bought it when they sold out in seconds, using a "sniping tool" haha... The Merkur Progress is my favourite! It's still going strong and the Progress looks SO much better in real life than in photographs imo. I love the weight and use feather razorblades, (I remember you teaching if you learn with sharp blades you'll learn quickly about too much pressure and the gap you neeed on your razor, but it''s up to the person holding the razor to decide if they want to.) You must have saved me so much money from not buying disposable razors!! Thanks for helping me and so many others, Love and best wishes X
My razor (Karve Overlander) has a blade gap of 0.73 mm and positive blade exposure of 0.07 mm. I absolutely love this razor. It's efficient without being overly aggressive.
Good video I want to thank you. You’re the one that taught me how to shave with a safety razor. It’s been years now and I enjoy it very much. I had multiple safety razors multiple brushes and tried a bunch of different soaps. It’s been fun!
@ I love my Gillette razor with a comb head made of pure brass. I believe it was made in the 20s and I have badger hair brush with a clear handle. I’m loving the lay right liquid shave soap smells really good and they’re shaving bomb.
Man, its been a bit. 16 years ago you inspired me to pick up a safety razor, and i had then only recently started shaving. I learned using a very aggressive 1930s open comb Gillette.
@shavetutor Yes, I'm glad that I saw the light! I got my first DE razor in 2013, but I tried using it like a cartridge razor, so I didn't like it. In 2019, I decided to get back into it, and never looked back!
Very good nuts and bolts video. Thanks for all you do for our community.
Thanks!
What a very nice video, Mark. Welcome back!

@@proudhon If you ever break your Progress try the Parker Variant. Very much like the Progress but with a better grip.
You my man are the first one to make videos on shaving. Glad to see you back.
Thanks!
Great video and good to see a recent one after so so long
Yep, trying to get back into doing videos again!

Welcome back!!
Thanks! More coming....
So good to see your back. You taught me so much about shaving that I was eventually able to shave daily with a cut throat razor.
Wow, that's great. I still can't shave very well with a straight. :(
@@shavetutor You’re the king on TH-cam when it comes to shaving. As a few people have posted my Dad never taught me how to shave 😊
Nice one Marc!
Thank you!
Welcome back 👍.
Thanks!
Great video!
Thank you!
Welcome back sir!
Thanks!
My father uses a Mach 3, so I’m self-taught 😂
What are you using?
@shavetutor I have many DE and SE razors, and switch off, depending on what I'm in the mood for.
@@Tristin471 Awesome :)
