    You know what I found the best video from you?
    You went to the woods, cut a tree, and made the most beautiful box ever.
    Can you do something like this again?
    So inspiring.

      Thanks. I have done a few videos like that. I want to do more green woodworking, but those videos take a LONG time to make.

    Watching this was a great way to start my day! But now you've got me believing that I could try my hand at carving (!) You always make it/everything look so (deceptively) easy...

    We call this wood red meranti, it is a great wood to learn in, in my experience it resembles a hardwood so when you use a more expensive hardwood you have more experience, it is also really good for carving, I recently made a carving from this wood, on my channel, but it's a great wood for beginners and more experienced craftspeople 👍👍😁😁

    Fyi for those of you with Menards, watch out for those mahagony boards, sometimes the wood grain can have entire sections that are nearly mush. The wood will go from soft to like a balsa softness in some places. You will notice a gray tint.

      Thanks for that. I've never seen white mahogany in my area, but it is always good to know the pitfalls.

    Shouldn't you have done a mahogany leaf on mahogany? Or would that have just been too redundant redundant?

    A 22" hand saw has 22" of teeth. Why are you using just 10"? It also a appears as if you are using a crosscut saw to make rip cuts? Am I being picky or is this 'really' an instructional presentation?

    • @WoodByWrightHowTo
      @WoodByWrightHowTo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a crosscut saw. The camera framing makes it look like it's last but I usually stop about 2 in from either end of the saw. But if you really want to get picky there is no such thing as a 22-in hand saw. A panel saw becomes a handsaw when it is at least 26 in long.
