    I'm making a demo of the Strymon Blue Sky reverb pedal. I tried to use every mode and combinations (Normal, Mod, Shimmer & Plate, Room, Spring) to demonstrate what this pedal is capable of for ambient sounds.
    The damp knobs are really cool to EQ your shimmer to your desired tone and it's really nice that the Mix knob can can 100% wet for drone sounds!
    Tell me in the comment section if you'd like a comparison video of the Strymon Blue Sky compared to the Big Sky!

    I love this pedal. It does that reverb sound so good. I have one. But before I purchased a blue sky, I picked up a boss rv6. I still have the rv6. (1st stage reverb now) for those who can’t afford the Blue Sky you can’t go wrong with the rv6.

    Best demo for the Blue Sky

  • @matrixstar2767
    @matrixstar2767 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank You Antoine for doing the best demos and for your ambient guitar training videos!!
    It is mid 2023 and I spent many hours looking at reverbs pedals and I went with a BlueSky V1 at a good price for my 1st high end reverb pedal (already have various cheep pedals from amazon on my pedalboard).
    My Reasons: Even though the Neunaber Immerse mk2 does the sparkling echo tails better (more advanced clean algorithms), I fell like the BlueSky has more horns like a freight train, like the decay fills out better and is very responsive for large ambient sounds. Hope that makes sense.
    Cheers!

    I wonder if it's not too late to buy this pedal - It was released 10 years ago (an updated one might be in the pipeline) and it's quite expensive. The problem is that it's the only one I know of that does a good dripping spring reverb and ambient reverbs too. What do you think?

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      To me, it's still as good today. What's important is that it produces the sounds YOU like! These pedals are solid and built to last. It's much simpler to use than all the big stompboxes too. And the resell value is higher than ever before for Strymon pedals. It's not rare that I find BlueSky pedals very close to full price on the used market (at least here, locally in Montreal, Canada) and it's been like this since many years!

I know one of them is “shimmer” which = I don’t know where the last hour went listening to myself play these handful of chords over and over. One question: what’s the second button (favorite) for and how does it work?

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The favorite switch recalls different knob positions. So you could engage the pedal for its current knobs positions, and click the favorite switch to play a totally different sound that you pre-saved, without having to twist the knobs.

      If you love the Oceans 11, you don't need to get something else. You said it: you love it! So you can go make some music AND save money at the same time! How great is that :-)

    The reflection in the image makes it hard to read the printing on the pedal. Just a heads-up.

    While Strymon pedals do sound fantastic in many aspects, they do have a sterile kind of "metallic" quality to the sound that is not very pleasing to me. I do like my BlueSky, but would have liked it to be "warmer" less sterile sounding.

      @@stasiu414 Hi John. Thx for tip.
      Have you by any chance compared the Immerse to the Blue Sky , back-to-back, and drawn any conlusions?
      Best regards, Magnus

    Do you think there are software plugins that can come close to these sounds?

    Do you really need a volume pedal for swells with this? I've been using one but debating on taking it off for an EQ. Either the vp goes or the tuner.

      I prefer having a volume pedal, by far. My guitar's volume knob doesn't do it for me!

    Have you reviewed/tried the FLUX LIQUID AMBIENCE pedal? It’s beats the Strymon!

      I don't think you need the Flux,blueSky is all you need.
